This was a pretty weird episode.. but I think that's what made it fun to watch lol Plus there was a lot of funny moments in this one too, especially with Anya and Spike. You guys are probably looking forward to the next episode so I'll be editing and posting that one as soon as I can. Hope you guys enjoyed this reaction and I'm VERY curious about your opinions on this episode!
Really missed you. Your reviews are eloquent, and have depth. You also pay attention to the entire episode, unlike every other Buffy reactor, which I've stated before. But I understand, I know how frustrating it is dealing with youtube when they don't have a brain among them that has clue how Copyright Law works.

This episode is usually considered one of the worst of the series, but I kinda like it.
The song Giles sings is “Behind Blue Eyes,” by The Who.
There’s a little thing about this episode that makes me laugh - in early season 3, this happens:
Buffy: Maybe I should introduce you again. Faith, this is Giles.
Faith: I’ve seen him. If I’d known they came that young and cute, I would’ve requested a transfer.
Buffy: Raise your hand if eww
Buffy’s other friends raise their hands, Willow doesn’t. It just makes Willow’s comment in this episode about her former crush on him less of a throwaway and more like a believable detail that’s grounded in this universe and these characters.

Yay, welcome back! I've been watching along on Patreon but I saw a couple people in a Buffy Facebook Page I'm in mention that they were missing you on TH-cam! Welcome back, and WHAT an episode 😂 I always found this episode entertaining and really liked the eerie tone, especially at the beginning with the music. I love Anya in this episode too, we get to see a bit more of her badassery

A shame that this was your first episode back. Apart from some classic Anya one liners and of course Giles' cameo as indie rock star there isn't much rewatch value on this one. Also, orgasm wall, um, what? Why?

Good to have you back, Riley. Personally, I consider this episode aFill In episode. Just to pacify the viewers until they can get back to the show. But, it was good, in a way. LOL.
Buffy and OtherRiley having sex non-stop is in part an overcompensation for the prior 2 ep's where they weren't having any sex because of Faith sleeping with OtherRiley, but it is also a way of displacing the issues between them. Too busy having sex to talk about them. For OR it is a way of saying, "see your the one I want." And for Buffy the sex is a way for her to say, "see, I am as good as the more experienced Faith."
I always enjoyed this episode.
This episode kind-of reminds me of an episode of Sapphire and Steel. If anyone knows what I'm talking about I'll be amazed - I was probably about 7 when I saw it, but it really creeped me out.

This is a really, well written episode, and not because it was written well enough to make it onto television, (I know a lot of people consider it a "bad" one, due to their own immature nature) but for all the themes it touches on. It is one of the few Buffy stories that relies on some actual research related to "hauntings". Normally, Joss told his writers to make things up and not bother with factual backgrounds, but the scene where Giles loses his temper at the old woman is layered...not least of which, she is responsible for Creating Evil, and unleashing it into the world due to her puritanical beliefs...the same beliefs that a few ignorant expose about themselves in the comments.
While I think your approach is too harsh, I too think some of the opinions about this episode are immature. It's just a normal monster of the week with some adult social themes, just like ones we had before

Not everyone's a fan. Maybe try Charmed, or Supernatural. People who hate Buffy seem to think those kind of shows have "better" writing.
I think this was one of the poorer episodes of the whole series. The situation with Anya and Xander becoming somewhat tiresome, in that Anya is constantly pressurizing Xander for sex, we know she is a demon and doesn't understand human emotions and desires, and while it is as funny at first it is really overdone here. A very ropey plot, and a real filler of an episode which sums up much of S4 even though it does have some brilliant individual episodes it has bad ones too. So much better to come in the brilliant S5.
This is usually at or near the top of "worst Buffy episode" lists. I like to think of it as a big middle finger from the writers to the network, to really emphasize the ridiculousness of their restrictions on showing same sex relationships. Buffy and Riley can have hot, sweaty sex the whole episode, while Willow and Tara can't even hold hands.
One of the only episodes I don’t like. It’s really a weird premise and a bit silly imo.

It seems like the TH-cam viewers have done their job perfectly. We have liked, commented and subscribed so Riley can get viewers. And that has helped her get a pretty healthy patreon following. She's earning money for doing naff all.... But don't worry, she'll be back soon! She'll drop a few videos because she wants more patreons/money.

This's exactly the kind of mean comments that pulls people away from TH-cam. She owes you nothing. If you want commitment, head to her patreon and pay for it. otherwise, she uploads when she sees fit to do so.
You have NO idea how hard it actually is to upload stuff to YT now. Everything gets blocked, if it doesnt get blocked it gets demonetized. She worked, for free on TH-cam, spending hours making edits, for over a year... just for half to get blocked and have to redo it.
You should appreciate all the free content you got for nothing, that she had to work for, instead of being angry you dont have a content making slave anymore.

@@TheBloobster She can do whatever she wants, and it's understandable if youtube is making things harder and harder for her to upload videos. I know she's a student so she has less time than some people that do this, but she can only do what she does right now because of originally uploading here and the people, even the ones that can't afford to pay for her content liking and viewing and subscribing to her channel to help her get people that could pay.
While being an ass about it like this is wrong, it's understandable people are going to be upset that someone they've watched for several months/years just suddenly cuts their content.

@@karazor-el9596 lol, without her "fake" fans and uploading to youtube, she never would have had anyone to support her on patreon to begin with. Without uploading to a site like youtube, she'll most likely never get more patreons and they will slowly dwindle until it's unsustainable.
Not everyone can afford to sub, and while people should be less rude about it, someone not even making any attempt to let their community know what's up is pretty crappy.
