Remember what Spike told Buffy in 'Fool for love' when referrint to killing the Chinese slayer? "It was the best night of my life".... oh boy, what an arc!
I don't think it's about stopping love, but rather establishing a romantic partner. Unless they're willing to be a throuple, Buffy would have to make a clear choice.
I love that the Scythe is so mystically sharp that it literally sings when swings through the air. It's one of the best weapon props ever designed! I have a friend that bought a full size replica and to this day, twenty plus years later, it's proudly and revanantly displayed on her lounge room wall! The upcoming finale " Chosen" has consistently been voted one of and more than once the best finales of all time so I can't wait to see your reaction to it! ❤ Jon from Aus.
Aww man, I love Spike and Buffy’s scene. I really appreciate Sofie’s view regarding each of their own feelings of self hate in relation to accepting love from one another, and how Spike is doubtful of her telling him how much he means to her, just as Buffy was in previous seasons. With that being said, I think both Buffy and Spike are being as vulnerable as they can allow themselves to be, given the circumstances they’re about to face. As much as we as the audience want them to be more vocal about their feelings and not just save it for later, it’s easy to forget that they are literally on the verge of fighting the biggest evil they’ve ever faced. They’re simply not going to jump into grand gestures of love when they don’t even know if they have tomorrow. Spike’s been around for forever, and Buffy’s been through so much for being both a Slayer and a woman still in her early 20s. One of my favourite Buffy quotes from the previous episode before Spike’s epic speech to her is this: “Being the Slayer made me different. But it’s my fault I stayed that way.” Both their experiences have shaped them in ways that have made them so bottled up and hardened to survive, so it makes sense why they both might not be so open with one another yet. For their characters, just because they don’t outright say it, doesn’t mean it isn’t true.
I think important was the fact that the executive and founder of The WB, Jamie Kellner (who was mad at FOX for stealing the show to UPN and thus forbade them to have cross-episodes in S6) had move over to be the head of Turner instead.
@@Henrik_Holst I read somewhere in an article around the time that Jamie (RIP) noted Buffy wasn't the WB network's hit show, causing the Fox TV Studios to move it to UPN.
@@Madbandit77 no he loved it and was mad at FOX for moving it. FOX opened up the show for a bidding war between The WB and UPN before S5 aired and UPN won by having way more money and in retaliation The CW went out and advertised S5 as the last season and also when S6 started strictly prohibited cross-episodes with Angel.
Yeah I too had an issue with them all acting like nothing happened. Buffy really is an amazing person, not only is she brave but constantly helping out others even if they do her dirty. She's an incredible empathetic human being and they don't deserve her. But I guess she also know her priorities and right now stay focus on the final fight. Whether we like it or not, she can't do it alone. As for our Spuffy moment...I just love them. They're both now able to be vulnerable and loving to each other it's heart warming.
5:30 Fun fact: Excalibur is NOT the sword King Arthur pulled from the stone in the older versions of the legend. Excalibur was handed to him by the Lady of the Lake. The sword in the stone is sometimes called Balin's sword (Balin is another character from the Arthurian legend), sometimes it seems to not having a name or being tied to old Celtic or Norse mythology. However - at some point in time the legends seem to have changed and eventually Excalibur and this other sword (whatever may have been that weapon's name) where merged into one.
I loved your reaction as always ! You are so right about Spike ! About him and Buffy ! Also about the scoobies ! Xander's the one I could forgive easier, because at least he has the fact that he lost his eye. But... even the potential said something that proved they were wrong and resembled an apology. I guess, we have to believe they talked between scenes about it (the scoobies) or they are waiting for the apocalypse to be over ? But... The potentials and even Faith said something to Buffy about it. Only the scoobies, the ones that are the most traitorous in that scenario, didn't apologies or addressed it ! I think it's kind of their thing, though... Remember when Buffy was "bad" after the master and her first death ? They never addressed it, they acted like everything was fine ! The thing is... Buffy is wayyyyyy better than me ! Because I wouldn't be able to go past it without a discussion, and an apology ! Especially because she was right !!!! She always is ! She was protecting all of them, and putting her self last ! She was doing everything she could, and doing a good job ! The problem was not her leadership in my opinion. The problem was the fact that the others wouldn't or/an couldn't accept to be led and wanted to make decisions, and give their opinions, even Giles (who wanted her to be a general and was awful when she did, and had other opinions and decisions than his !) Her instincts as the slayer are GOOD so trust her, damn it !!! She's the best slayer to ever exist, let's be honest ! Because we know most of them didn't go over 18 ! AND she came back twice and still continued to fight and protect the world. She also has so much compassion and protect others, even when they don't deserve her... She's amazing ! She was/is a real role model, for young girls
i'm so glad i checked your channel before going to bed. have been having a really bad depression day, and your videos always make me feel better. i love how your mind works, and getting an insight into your thoughts and opinions is always very enjoyable. it's fun to see you enjoy the show. almost takes me back to when i first watched it.
Buffy forgiving the gang without them apologizing shows her true Greatness ☺(and gets the writers off the hook for the incredibly stupid episode where they kick her out 😠)!
@@NicamonOh, and I make an exception for Dawn. Telling Buffy to leave was BS. The others had every right to feel the way they felt and say what they said.
@@MB.543 1)I used to think the same but Sofie's speech convinced me.Buffy didn't earn her power from birth, she did _after_ it was given to her. She kept training and wondering about the First Slayer and doing researches not only to increase her power but to understand it better. She earned it through hard work and self search. 2)I disagree.Buffy was being bossy and not listening to anyone.Kicking her out(TEMPORARELY!)was the only solution IMO and I can't see why everyone in the fandom makes such a big deal about it. It's not like they kicked her out *forever* they basically just told her:"Go out for a walk until you have cleared your mind."she did,she took the thing Caleb was hiding without endagering anyone else and now she's _finally_ willing to work on a *real* plan which is what the Scoobies were asking her to do from the very beginning and they're all good again. I don't see why _the fandom_ makes such a big deal about it.🤷♂
After seeing Sofie's reaction to Giles' return at the end of the Season 6 episode 'Two to Go', I couldn't wait to see her reaction to seeing Angel's surprise appearance at the end of this episode. She definitely did not disappoint.
@@Nicamon I didn't, cause I never really cared to watch Angel. It was epic for me to get her reveal when she arrived with Willow. I hadn't thought about her at all at that point.
Oh my god you're really the best. Once again on first vision you give me insights I never thought of. Like the fact that in season 6 she hated herself and he loved her, but now since he hates himself he can't believe that she may actually love him back 😢
Buffy and Spike inspire each other, support each other and make one a stronger and better version of themselves. When they are together-it is strength and mutual help, they are real couple.
19:04 I kind of love how this exact comment was reiterated through Michael in the good place. 😂 Something about writing supernatural characters is for the "good ones" to recognize how stupid and admirable some innately humane traits are😂❤
Sofie, I loved your reaction to the Buffy/Angel kiss. I personally find it very out of place with where the characters are, I think it was just fan service for the Buffy/Angel fans. Especially considering everything that's happening with her and Spike. However, I always laugh when it pans to Spike and The First and The First as Buffy is like "That bitch" 😂 Gets me every time.
The kiss is completely in line w/ Spike's belief that Buffy could never be fully in love w/ him, and he's correct. Like it or not, Buffy & Angel are both shows' OTP.
And this is the end... It was a great journey watching your reactions of this show that is my favorite of all times. I watched Buffy when it originally aired (and I still rewatch it very often) and after seven years of my life watching the show year after year, growing up with those characters, I really was a huge mess (at the same period, in a couple of years, several shows I watched ended, and I really was in a "Where do we go from here" mode ?). Joss Whedon's polemics aside, we all can say he is a genius and he created one of the best shows of television's history and some of the best and most innovative episodes of a TV show EVER. More than 20 years later, Buffy stills live and hasn't aged. This show is timeless and is a big part of pop culture. Many shows that last several years end with a quality that is not the same, but Buffy is different and it ended on a huge quality note, a quality that never left season after season. The show has always been incredibly well written, with a lot of intelligence. Regarding this finale episode, Anya's death will forever be extremely shocking. The way she is cut in half, I always scream, even if I know it happens. And Spike... I spent all my summer after the show ended to theorize about the fact he was not dead but locked in a place the amulet put him it, I was a complete denial and spent hours on forums to explain why he was alive, and obviously, as you finished Angel, you can imagine my reaction when the finale season started, can't wait to see yours ;-) ). Anyway, the finale of of Buffy is beautiful. It's bittersweet, but it's a great ending. It's full circle. Buffy made all of us laugh, scream, cry, chill, this show broke our hearts many times, but it's the best. Thank you for your reactions, they were fantastic. Now, rewatch the show and you'll probably notice many things that you couldn't notice at first. And on a future note, if you want to react to a couple of other shows, even if they have nothing to do with Buffy, if you haven't watched them yet, I suggest you Veronica Mars and Gilmore Girls. ;-)
Buffy is truly the best of all! She never stopped loving her loved ones and her "students" despite what they did to her, she saved everyone once again and offered her total forgiveness, remaining devoted and full of trust. Her only revenge was to prove that she was right and that.... that they are the Good ones and therefore are not "good" at communicating, XD. Strenght, brave, kind, selfless, nice, generous... she is Buffy
It does bother me how they really remove Buffy from the Scoobies this season. She had a great conversation with Faith and with Spike. Why couldn't she have that with Giles, Willow, Xander, and Dawn? It really bothered me they glossed over it and that none of those four even considered apologizing, even if Buffy didn't want to go there.
The scooby gang always felt entitled with Buffy imo. Willow doesn't like Buffy taking charge, Xander thinks he's in charge of her love life, Giles feels insecure about his place in Buffy's life, Dawn feels like the potentials are stealing her sister from her. This conflict was bound to blow up, it has been brewing for a few seasons now, but they never took the time to talk to each other. They needed to understand that without her they have no chance of making it. At this point if they make it, I wouldn't be surprised if they all go their separate ways or if Buffy leaves them behind to get some peace of mind.
Regarding the First's "true form": We've seen it at least twice before. A couple of episodes ago, when Willow was trying to listen in. But much earlier, back when it was first introduced in Season 3, in _Amends._ There's a scene there towards the end when Buffy sees its true form, at which point she quips, "I get it, you're evil" (or something like that). Also, seeing Buffy and Faith have the "I'm all alone conversation," and I'm remembering Cordelia talking about her Cordette pack, because "it beats being alone all by yourself." Buffy is alone, but she still has those friends. Faith was jealous of the friends, but never understood the lonesomeness, until now. Slayers are not born to be leaders; they're born to be lone wolves. Wish-verse Buffy said as much: "I don't work well with others."
I watched Buffy back in the days and re-watched it many times since. Still love it, still bothered by the kicking-Buffy-out thing to this day. Never got it, always found it out of line: she saved their asses since they met, they know her value, instincts, stature, SHE DIED FOR EVERYONE. For me that’s such a big stain I will never get over. Try to ignore it like you, but still can’t make peace with it.
Yeah sure they could have addressed what happened but I imagine Buffy just doesn’t wanna waste any time with more drama considering the stakes and everything going on Plus Buffy tends to let these things slide even when she’s been hurt
Yeah for someone with superhuman strength she's often a doormat and lets people walk all over her. The way her friends treated her after she ran away from home was despicable, she really believed she was the bad guy and had to apologize for being traumatized and no one seeing her pain. When Oz broke up with Willow she couldn't shut up about it, no one asked her to act normal but they knew she had to heal. They see Buffy as wonder woman and she can't be weak, sad and has to be perfect. Sadly Tara and Spike are the only people she was able to be honest with, without fear of judgment. What does that say about her friendships with the scooby gang?
Instead of them kicking her out. I know they wanted to showcase how faith would lead and how much she has overcome a lot. They could’ve put Buffy in a coma and the first slayer and The guardian could have woken her up with a vision that there is a scythe and wala
They actually did want another season but Sarah was done and wouldn't sign another contract. It's understandable. She worked very hard behind the scenes
17:45 what I don't like is how they make her reserved about her true feelings during that conversation. Yes, she followed him when he was about to leave and she started that conversation again but the author doesn't let her say a lot, say what it meant to her, they cut her off mid-sentence or they just let her agree with him but no full confession from her side, but they still want it to mean a lot to her. He said enough and he doesn't want to push. But the author holds her back so much. No wonder Spike didn't believe her later.
I remember when i first watched it when it aired i was happy to see angel it hit with the nostalgia feels, and she kissed angel i go "bitch" 😂😂 then the it panned to spike and the first evil is like "that bitch" honestly i was floored. I was like nooo he saw it???!!! 😢
@@Nicamon I wish Spike didn't have to see them kiss after literally pouring his heart out to her scenes earlier. Just felt super wrong. Angel and Buffy were over. That's how I saw it anyway.
Ok, I turned all notifications on now so that I at least don't miss the finale... 😅 So glad I found your channel. You and a few others like Jules or Lexi helped me realize that Buffy is my #1 favorite show of all time again now. Lost goes to #2 for the time being....
Hola Sofie.
I believe that the fall out with buffy n Xander n Willow was part the first manipulation but also its always been said The Slayer, her alone .... meaning she was to be solo expect the friends n that community is what actually broke the cycle
I know how you felt, we all felt the same thing but unlike you we watched it for 7 years in real time! It took us a long time to make it to the end of the journey, except it wasn't, Angel kept going a little bit longer.
A great opening scene with Caleb showing his fear now Buffy has freed mʔ from the rock. Buffy of course has to save The Potentials from certain death and dispatches The Turok Han with ease now as she now has the power of mʔ . Again when Spike returns we can see something is different between Buffy and Spike by the look in their eyes, the whole dynamic is now on another level, they both know that last night was special and has given Buffy the strength to fight on. Spike having his soul restored has of changed everything for the dynamic between him and Buffy. You can see in that conversation that there something is definitely there, and the Spike in Seeing Red is not the Spike in Chosen. Again how can Faith who with a soul, actually sexually assaulted and tried to murder Xander, and actually raped Riley in season 4 and committed cold blooded murder be treated differently from Spike by many fans. We realise that Xander was just doing what Buffy asked him when capturing Dawn and driving her to safety, but Dawn turns the tables zapping Xander and returns. A superb final scene, with Angel returning to aid Buffy, but as Buffy and Angel kiss after Caleb has apparently been dispatched, it pans away to a very jealous Spike being tormented again this time by The First Evil as Buffy saying 'look at that bitch' a brilliant final scene to the episode. Enjoy the last episode CHOSEN you won't be disappointed, but still feel the show reached a zenith in Series 5 finale THE GIFT.
i absolutely hated angel and buffy kissing. it was so forced and JW said himself that it was fanservice. and so excited to see ur reaction to the finale! ^^
@@disarminglycharming5599 Well,I've always absolutely hated the Angel x Cordy ship,so I'm *more than happy* that I can at least pretend that shit never happened if I avoid watching the spin-off and only concentrate on"Buffy"!The only thing that disappointed _me_ is that Angel didn't stay in Sunnydale for the Final Battle.
The most unnecessary kiss in the history of kisses. Both were in a state where they had moved on. Buffy just had a real emotional connection with Spike just hours ago. Doesn't make sense at all.
@@IslandpferdeHaukagil Emotional connection doesn't automatically mean"love". What I hate about the Spuffy is that it _could_ be a great ship if they didn't try to force the romance down our throats so badly. They could be amazing allies and friends, just like Angel&Faith and the tension could still be there,it would just be expressed in other ways!
You might want to fix your settings, because as of this posting, a number of your recent Buffy videos have the chapter listed as "Dirty Girls", including this one.
Buffy and Angel always had a very immature love. She was so young and he didn't respect her as an equal like Spike does. He made every decision about their relationship for her because he really saw her as a child. Spike sees and treats her as a partner, as someone capable of making decisions and leading him. Angel and Cordelia had a much more developed love, grown out of mutual respect and care. Buffy and Angel never got that, it was just puppy love. They just don't make sense now that she's an adult and has been through so much and grown.
For both of them (Buffy and Angel) it was their first love. Angel said in all his years he only loved one woman. And therefore they both kind of fumbled through it. Buffy never fell in love with Spike. She grew close to him over time but obviously by S7 it was a close friendship without any sexual desire. Spike only ever pushed himself on her before that with his, "Come on babe, you know you want it" approach to get what he wanted and that was only because he was obsessed with her. Worming his way into her life through her mother, Dawn and friends was just him using them to force Buffy to pay attention to him. That was not a respectful love, which he later gave up on after getting his soul because that was when he finally started respecting her. And then even he would admit she doesn't really love him. Not in the way he always wanted it, that is. That burning lustful way he described in Lovers Walk, which was only physical lust that burns out quickly. In S7 Buffy said she will never love anything as much as she loved Angel. She may have started growing past him as she gains the maturity of aging and vampires don't. So in the long run, neither vampire is a good choice for a life mate. She was 22 here at this point and Angel was still 26. And the writers couldn't resist throwing in some petty immature lines for him to remind us of that. The only sequel story I can fathom is where Angel gets turned human again so they can spend a real life together.
I think it is so funny when hardcore bangels say Buffy and Spyke are just friends. Let me say if your ex-girlfriend says the other guy is in her heart, she isn't talking about friendship.
@@eduardofilippi7698It means Buffy cares about Spike and he is important to her. It does not mean she is in love with him. If Buffy were truly in love with Spike, she never would have looked at Angel the way she did and definitely not kissed him. Angel could have been in a relationship with someone for all Buffy knew but she didn’t care and just instinctively connected with him. It’s a connection that will never end no matter how much time passes for them. 🤷🏽♀️
@jevonk the way she looks at Spyke in these final episodes really tells the whole history. She is in love. A lot. It's just a hard season for bangels shippers. What can I say? The girl can love another guy. It's ok.
@@eduardofilippi7698 Why would it be a hard season for Bangel shippers? Buffy and Spike didn’t connect until the last couple of episodes. Even then Buffy never went all in. Spike was dying in front of her and she didn’t kiss the man she was in love with goodbye? She did when Angel was about to die. Buffy cared for Spike for the first time and saw him as a changed man but she wasn’t in love. Even Sarah Michelle Gellar agrees and she played the character experiencing the emotions.
I chock up the previous episode that all of the people were being influenced by the first and that why they were all not acting the way they normally do
You know what is funny about that kiss is how they act as if it didn't happen or at least didn't mean much. She said that it was just a hello and asked Spike if she can stay with him AGAIN for the night and the rest story with confession continued. As if the audience is supposed to pretend that kissing scene wasn't really there. Which only proves that it was included just because they still had that second show Angel that they needed to make money from and because some angel/buffy shippers asked to include him in Buffy for the finale. So this way Whedon & Co wanted to lick everyone's a**. Which they confirmed later actually. But I don't like it, trying to please everyone will only make things worse and it makes them look weak. Pick one and go with it, otherwise it makes the story look like a joke, not a serious thing, when some scenes don't belong to the rest storyline.
@@user-dx2dm8oq8g noo, she should love the person she met when she was a 16 year old teenager and he was a very-very mature man till the rest of her life. @@Junejane4 Yeah all that makes Buffy look like a pickme. Just like when Riley came back to throw in her face his new rebound wife. Spike went out as a demon to get his soul back to be safe to be around and he has to walk in on this. It's just like Angel can be forgiven for what Angelus did, but not Spike.
@@user-dx2dm8oq8g both these guys (Angel and Riley) didn't choose her, they left. It doesn't matter what excuse they come up with, they didn't choose her. That's the most important thing. And that should be enough for her. Don't chase them only because the author likes these guys. They make her look bad this way. Spike did an incredible, impossible thing for her, changing the main narrative to be a better man and to be able to be with her because he thought that she deserved it and he doesn't even ask her for anything. That's what should matter. So much unconditional love. And it makes me sad that it is not appreciated enough. And the way they write her makes me think that she doesn't deserve it.
@@Junejane4 Not much more you can say but Spike's a super simp. Buffy will continuously cheat on Spike all while waiting for the "better guy" to come along.
Buffy and Angel kissing never made sense to me. It didn't make sense to me in the "Forever" episode after Joyce died, and it certainly makes no sense here. Their lives have been separate for years, so this kind of affection seems.... unnatural.
@@Brilleetoile I strongly disagree with both of you. The fact they still have such strong feelings for each others despite them being apart for so long and for so many times _is_ potential soulmates material IMO!💛🖤
@@Nicamon At this point in the show Buffy clearly had a strong connection with Spike, that's why kissing Angel felt so awkward. Hugging would be okay. I don't think any of them are Buffy's soulmates. I'm not even sure the term applies to Buffy.
@@alexie5201 "I don't think any of them are Buffy's soulmates. "At this point in the show Buffy clearly had a strong connection with Spike, that's why kissing Angel felt so awkward. Hugging would be okay."Not wrong, but also not necessarely right. I will copy-past a thing I wrote under another comment now...."Emotional connection doesn't automatically mean"love". The kicking Buffy out..I hated it for a long time, but, this was the first time the slayer wannabes got either killed or severely beaten, and one of the scooby gang was also seriously wounded in a very off handed way by the villain. Their reaction can be understood, as Buffy seemed rather cavalier about going in and winning when she’s in far less danger than everyone else, plus, Buffy was proposing doing exactly the same thing again before they’d even recovered, so, they thought she’d lost it. In retrospect I think they could’ve tried to communicate it better, but still, the show doesn’t suffer from this.
My thought: in season 2 episode bad eggs, Angel asked Buffy: you really don't care what happen one year from now? 5 years from now? 5 years later: here the kiss!!😂 And I don't think is fanservice, it is how it was supposed to be 🤷🏼♀️
The didn't agree with Buffy on that one plan vs. the other. Not everything until the end of all time. Both those plans are over. With of course Buffy being right. But they obviously aren't still disagreeing over the plans that are over and done. And Buffy doesn't want to waste time dwelling on an "I told you so" when she's got a bigger mission. Just another example of Buffy the general.
She kisses one guy and then continues to sleep with the other one at the same day. And then tells that other guy that she loves him. No comment, guys, no comment. The f_ck did they do with the story and her at the end of it all? Why didn't they think about how it all looks like trying to please other show's audience? This is dumb.
I always had issue with Xander saying he wanted to be with Buffy until the end. How? I ask that rhetorically because he, Dawn, and the rest of the group kicked her out. He gave a great speech about Buffy that had her crying before the vinyard assault. Retconned said speech by losing that eye and dismissing her as the leader and kicking her out, before now saying he wanted to be with Buffy until the end shows he cannot understand his behavior throughout seven seasons. At the beginning of the series, he dismissed Buffy telling him in the second episode how "deeply dangerous" it all is. Dismissing it, with him thinking she thinks him "less than a man" and continuing to not take thing seriously, or seriously enough, doesn't deserve him a pass here. I feel him losing an eye just makes him late to the party in taking things seriously more than anything (and that still doesn't mean being a part of kicking Buffy out was right). When Jenny died Xander told Giles, "Yeah well sh's dead." His eye isn't as bad as death, and how this example shows him treating death (and any situation he doesn't like, which allows for other many examples) death to his friends. That line is how he treated Giles over Jenny's death. In some ways, I feel Xander needed his eye loss in order for him to truly start growing up, because no growing up on his part happens before he loses an eye. The closest I feel he gets before this is talking to Anya while Andrew is filming and even then he avoided a true apology by saying he apologized enough before Andrew caught a genuine discussion about his relationship with Anya between the two, which woudn't have happened if Andrew didn't ask how he felt a year later. I cannot condone Xander's behavior in this situation anymore than I can anyone else's. But realizing there are other ways to help than just being the rude jokester by Buffy's side is the starting point of what he should have known and understood for years. Instead of letting his father get to him to the point of never dealing with his isues and therefore telling others off (yelling at them) over their issues. When I referenced his overall character in the overall quote I was talking about the fact that he has never really learned anything from his mistakes and takes his issues out on other people's issues. Kicking Buffy out after the great speech only to not understand Buffy is giving him what she considers the most important task - protecting Dawn - just shows this fact. But doing this important task of getting Dawn out of town is also the first time I feel him growing up in the same way I think the the conversation Buffy and he have just before Tara's death is the first time you see a friendship between the two without the need for Willow to be the go-between. None of this even touches on the fact that the Scoobies are hypocritical for not kicking Faith out and running (metaphorically) back to Buffy when they ended up doing the exact same thing they claimed she did. She knew it was a potential trap. The group walked into the bomb thinking they were outsmarting The First. If you reply in disagreement, that is fine, but please do not be rude in the process. I recently had someone name call me while insulting my theory. There is no need for that while disagreeing with someone's opinion.
@@alicequinn505 What's weird about it? Spike gives this amazing speech about how he loves her through her best and through her worst. She then falls asleep in his arms. Within 24 hours, she's making out with her toxic ex-boyfriend. She then tells this ex-boyfriend that she can't be with him now, as this other guy is in her life. But in the future she will be available for him. She was being bossy cause she's the boss 😂 as Faith says " I'm your boss, I'm your leader. Which means I go first and I make the rules and the rest of you follow after me. Is that clear?"
@@paulinerobertson6836 Buffy was being bossy right after the Scoobies had been butchered by Caleb *and* without having a plan. Faith was saying:"We will make a plan and I will have the final word on it."That's a big difference!
@Nicamon Imo, that's more because she doesn't have the experience that Buffy has as a leader. So of course she's gonna wait and ask everyone else. It's also hypocritical of Giles to be acting so upset with her plan, when he literally told her that they are all expendable and she has to be a general, noticed he looked down and away when she reminded him of it. Giles brought them there and laid all that responsibility on Buffy then acts that way? I get it bugs you that the majority of the fan base feels the same way( I get it because everyone loves Faith and I just do not 😂) I don't get pissed though I just dont get it tbh) but anyway, I think it's also the fact they told her to leave her house? Um why don't they leave 🤷♀️
@@paulinerobertson6836 Being expendable is one thing, rushing without a plan against and enemy who beated you badly, killed 2 of you and took 1 eye off just 2 minutes ago it's definitely too reckless! OK,what's the difference? They are still all together and Buffy is still left isolated...who cares if she's physically in her own house or not? It's a temporary solution anyway, you all talk like the Scoobies banned her forever!!🤨
Coincidenze? Conoscendo Whedon... Chissà! 😁🤔🤔
James and Sarah are just amazing actors. They bring it every time.
Remember what Spike told Buffy in 'Fool for love' when referrint to killing the Chinese slayer? "It was the best night of my life".... oh boy, what an arc!
There's so much foreshadowing in his plot line
Gotta remember though that Spike & William are two different characters. Like Angel & Angelus.
Good news! It's ❤ rewatchable beyond belief! You'll see things next time and grow to love them all even more. 😊❤
Got a feeling that she'll never love the scene where Buffy is kicked out of her own house.
Anyone you ever truly love, even for a moment, you never stop loving.
I wish this wasn't true lol
I don't think it's about stopping love, but rather establishing a romantic partner. Unless they're willing to be a throuple, Buffy would have to make a clear choice.
This show is iconic and inspired a lot of other shows. The characters were really endearing
So funny how this one is also tittled best speech ever. Season7 is the season of speeches and they are all amazing
exactly! they even put in a joke about Buffy speeches too in this season lol
Even though the shows were now on separate channels, David did not hesitate to say yes when asked to appear at the end of Buffy's run.
@@Henrik_Holst Okay.
I loved Spike's "You found the Holy Grail, or Holy Hand Grenade..." 😁
Well, he's British. Monty Python quotes are right up his alley.
Aww Buffy and Spike forever ❤ no matter what ❤
Legit, Spike during this season raised the bar so high that I could literally never date...

@@florabdala8299 she was right about that, yeah. thank you
Buffy forgiving the gang without them apologizing shows her true Greatness ☺(and gets the writers off the hook for the incredibly stupid episode where they kick her out 😠)!
I don't think the Scoobies had anything to apologize for.Apart maybe Anya for saying Buffy didn't earn her Slayer power.
@@Nicamon Agree with you, except for the Anya part. Buffy objectively did not earn her power. She was chosen.
I don't see why _the fandom_ makes such a big deal about it.🤷♂
@@Nicamon Yes they did.
The fact that Dawn already had that tazer at hand, tells me ahe absolutely expected something like this to happen. And that is kind of hilarious. 🤣🤣🤣
25:48 - To be honest, my main thought on seeing that on rewatches is "So Spike was just watching when Buffy was almost killed?"
After seeing Sofie's reaction to Giles' return at the end of the Season 6 episode 'Two to Go', I couldn't wait to see her reaction to seeing Angel's surprise appearance at the end of this episode. She definitely did not disappoint.
Too bad the spin-off spoiled her the return of Faith...imagine if she didn't know about _that_ either...!!!🤩🤎
@@Nicamon I didn't, cause I never really cared to watch Angel. It was epic for me to get her reveal when she arrived with Willow. I hadn't thought about her at all at that point.
@@IslandpferdeHaukagil Same but not because I didn't care to watch"Angel"but because,at the time,I didn't know it existed!!😅
I freaking loved your reaction to Angel appearing.
Oh my god you're really the best. Once again on first vision you give me insights I never thought of. Like the fact that in season 6 she hated herself and he loved her, but now since he hates himself he can't believe that she may actually love him back 😢
lest we forget, Zander has revived Buffy twice now. And he's the only character that could/would make that joke.
Buffy and Spike inspire each other, support each other and make one a stronger and better version of themselves. When they are together-it is strength and mutual help, they are real couple.
19:04 I kind of love how this exact comment was reiterated through Michael in the good place. 😂 Something about writing supernatural characters is for the "good ones" to recognize how stupid and admirable some innately humane traits are😂❤
There was a Buffy season 8 and possibly more done in comic book form.
And on a future note, if you want to react to a couple of other shows, even if they have nothing to do with Buffy, if you haven't watched them yet, I suggest you Veronica Mars and Gilmore Girls. ;-)
Buffy's only mistake was thinking that she needed to bring the other girls along to get a hold of the scythe. She needed to be alone to fight Caleb.
Because she could only be allowed to interact with Spike, of course!
Yeah sure they could have addressed what happened but I imagine Buffy just doesn’t wanna waste any time with more drama considering the stakes and everything going on
Plus Buffy tends to let these things slide even when she’s been hurt
Man i wish Angel got phone call about Cordelia at this episode. So sad nobody mentioned Cordelia in this episode. 😢
Sofie is all of us lol. I need someone to gif her chanting Die Die Die 🤣

You're not sure it's Faith most of the time because it's her stand in, Eliza was off making the pilot for Tru Calling at the time.
I believe that the fall out with buffy n Xander n Willow was part the first manipulation but also its always been said The Slayer, her alone .... meaning she was to be solo expect the friends n that community is what actually broke the cycle
I hate the hatred and the whining of this fandom in the comments lol
Good thing I love both Bangel & Spuffy. Yay for me. Boo hoo for others
Right! Both are good, in different ways. And you can have love for many people
I know how you felt, we all felt the same thing but unlike you we watched it for 7 years in real time! It took us a long time to make it to the end of the journey, except it wasn't, Angel kept going a little bit longer.
25:00 Oh... funny you say that lol

The most unnecessary kiss in the history of kisses. Both were in a state where they had moved on. Buffy just had a real emotional connection with Spike just hours ago. Doesn't make sense at all.
@@IslandpferdeHaukagil Emotional connection doesn't automatically mean"love". And one to go.... BTVS is a great series.
*The next episode,....I mean the last episode will be "fun"....or as SPIKE would say : "I wanna see how it ends..."* ❤🔥😈

Yeah Buffy is over him and Angel kinda moved on on his show even if they keep repeating the opposite, so I really don't get why they kissed.
@@user-dx2dm8oq8g noo, she should love the person she met when she was a 16 year old teenager and he was a very-very mature man till the rest of her life. Don't you know that? 😉And it doesn't matter that he left 5 years ago and started his own life without her, has a child even and other women (more than 1) who can be his new potential love interest. Let's just ignore anything that's happened to him over the years. Because since he has his own show we're stuck with him forever even if you don't watch that other show.
Their lives have been separate for years, so this kind of affection seems.... unnatural.
Ikr ? We're tired of this so -called "soulmate" bullshit. Spike is her soulmate, period.
I'm not even sure the term applies to Buffy."TBH I agree, expecially because it's difficult to consider soulmates 2 people when 1 of them is immortal and the other is not which is why I don't even like using the term"endgame"for these ship because...how can they be?Unless the vampires become mortal and/or Buffy becomes immortal, she will grow old and die *way before they do.* But since Brilleetile used that term,I adapted myself.
What I hate about the Spuffy is that it could be a great ship if they didn't try to force the romance down our throats so badly. They could be amazing allies and friends, just like Angel&Faith and the tension could still be there,it would just be expressed in other ways!"So my point is that the fact Buffy has had this strong emotional connection with Spike shouldn't prevent her from still having strong romantic feelings for Angel and physically express them.
@@Nicamon Nah, it's not serious she loves Spike now. Angel should stay in LA and leave her alone
Buffy and Angel kissing makes perfect sense to me lol and no complaints about it from me. Buffy and Angel always for me lol.
No complaints from me either. Makes perfect sense. And doesn't diminish her relationship with Spike at all.
Think about: this kiss is, more or less, 5 years after bad eggs 😁
❤🧡💛💚💙💜
The kicking Buffy out..I hated it for a long time, but, this was the first time the slayer wannabes got either killed or severely beaten, and one of the scooby gang was also seriously wounded in a very off handed way by the villain. Their reaction can be understood, as Buffy seemed rather cavalier about going in and winning when she’s in far less danger than everyone else, plus, Buffy was proposing doing exactly the same thing again before they’d even recovered, so, they thought she’d lost it. In retrospect I think they could’ve tried to communicate it better, but still, the show doesn’t suffer from this.
Is the Buffy and Angel kiss fanservice? Yes. And what’s wrong with that?
Nothing.
@@ninipookieand it's not just fanservice!
My thought: in season 2 episode bad eggs, Angel asked Buffy: you really don't care what happen one year from now? 5 years from now?
5 years later: here the kiss!!😂
And I don't think is fanservice, it is how it was supposed to be 🤷🏼♀️
Buffy went out of the house on her own.
That Bangel kiss was bullshit and fan service. Made me so angry.
She kisses one guy and then continues to sleep with the other one at the same day. And then tells that other guy that she loves him. No comment, guys, no comment. The f_ck did they do with the story and her at the end of it all? Why didn't they think about how it all looks like trying to please other show's audience? This is dumb.
Are you slut shaming Buffy? they're vampires, it's not some sort of Brady Bunch show
I always had issue with Xander saying he wanted to be with Buffy until the end.
Bangel forever lol
Don't worry, she left him a note...and then went off to go makeout with her toxic ex-boyfriend. Super Simp!!!
That's a weird take
@@alicequinn505 What's weird about it? Spike gives this amazing speech about how he loves her through her best and through her worst. She then falls asleep in his arms. Within 24 hours, she's making out with her toxic ex-boyfriend. She then tells this ex-boyfriend that she can't be with him now, as this other guy is in her life. But in the future she will be available for him. Spike then confronts Buffy about her making out with her ex and her response is to completely dismiss his feelings, while making a joke about the two men oil wrestling each other over her. Basically she then tells Spike to get over it and like the good little simp that he is, Spike does.
Spuffy is great and I love Spike, but come on!, Bangel is eternal ❤
04:04 - 04:11 Exactly. It _did_ happen to you.Thank you for being less blind than your own fandom,Buffy!!💛 04:33 - 04:40 Faith,my girl, you have to cut this toxic relationship between you and comas!😆It's really getting too far at this point!😅 04:54 - 05:05 No,because they were right! 07:12 - 07:24 Oh,for fuck's sake!!🙄💢💢💢Are you gonna be like this for the whole episode?!?!THE SCOOBIES-WERE-RIGHT!!!😡💢Buffy had just led them into a trap after *everyone* told her that it was a trap, right after that she wanted to get them there once again, without even getting them the time to rest, just because she _guessed_ Caleb was hiding something and she was being bossy and not listening to anyone so *at the time THEY WERE RIGHT to kick her out!!* Now she has found the thing she was looking for _by her own_ without endangering anyone else and _now_ she's willing to work on a *real plan* which is what the Scoobies were asking her in the 1st place!SO YES,WE'RE MOVING ON,PLEASE DO THE SAME ALREADY!!!
09:34 - 09:41 Yeah. NO ONE saw that coming!Not a single soul!😱 22:27 - 22:33 Yep. No one saw _that_ coming either.😬 10:33 - 12:48 💛🤎
14:39 - 16:23 See?This is what _infuriates me_ about Spike's whole character development! This scene is *_amazing_* and so are _other_ scenes with him or him&Buffy and I can never fully appreciate them _because of the way we got there!!_ If Spike's whole character development wasn't _tainted_ by happening for the most part while he didn't have a soul he might have become a favorite of mine just like Faith!!!But he never will. 19:03 - 19:13 I remember hearing the same type of speech from a Yeerk(alien Villains)in the book series"Animorph". 20:57 - 21:17 Yeah, that's why S7 sucks compared to the other seasons:too many things stuffed together and too little time to properly deal with all of them.X-(

It's not even S3 Faith level of recklessness, let alone a thing _Buffy_ should do!!😵
"I think it's also the fact they told her to leave her house? Um why don't they leave 🤷♀"Because she's ONE and they are MANY and apart from the principle"the majority wins"it's far more complicated *_and dangerous_* to move an entire group of people rather than a single person with superpowers!Plus...what difference would it make?Let's say everyone just magically teleports into the next free house. OK,what's the difference? They are still all together and Buffy is still left isolated...who cares if she's physically in her own house or not? It's a temporary solution anyway, you all talk like the Scoobies banned her forever!!🤨
Anche io ho pensato al "dai dai...!" In italiano 😂😂😂
Coincidenze? Conoscendo Whedon... Chissà! 😁🤔🤔

we all get it
thank you for sharing your journey
