Note about Eneloop batteries: The Japanese factory that manufactured Eneloop batteries to such a high standard that resulted in their fame was FDK Corporation, but FDK was actually sold to Fujitsu in 2010. Panasonic owns the Eneloop branding now, but not all Eneloop branded batteries are manufactured at FDK. (Panasonic will sometimes contract out battery orders through Fujitsu.) If you want batteries made by FDK (which are the good ones), you are more likely to get them by buying Fujitsu-branded batteries at the moment. If you buy Panasonic Eneloops, you might get Japanese made ones from FDK, but you might also get ones from China. The Eneloop China factory batteries are also pretty decent, but definitely not up to the FDK quality. You can also get Tenergy rechargeable batteries which are also very good and have a long life.
The stretchy cables are more than aesthetic. I always have the problem that my cables are either too short or too long. I resort to the inelegant solution of twist tying the extra length (yea, I know cable ties exist.. but recycling!). Having a Midi cable that could stretch or shrink to the required length sounds like a huge gift for organization

My Christmas gift to myself was a refurbished pair of Bose QC in-ear headphones so I can noodle on the OP-1 on long plane trips when vising family, instead of watching movies or what have you. They're no longer made but within a gift budget on the refurbished / second-hand market, and I think a thoughtful gift for the travelling pocket-synth enthusiast. Otherwise yep, give musicians cables and mini-mixers (and woodworkers clamps)!
Hey thanks for the comment! I actually have not yet found a good travel case for Pluto. (I did the risky thing and wrapped it up in a hand towel for my recent mountain trip!) The issue I’ve found is that Pluto is very thick, and therefore my other cases from Analog Cases don’t fit properly. I think I might use an old box for a Stylophone for my next trip though!
