    I like watching your videos because they help me have less anxiety. I listen to how you have tried several things and you come back to being an illustrator. The way you explain your journey is calming and easy going. It helps me to not stress out. I have felt pressure that has kept me up nearly all night working on trying to make content for KDP. Watching other TH-cam channels that push success cause anxiety for me. I thinking that I should be able to be as successful too and I get in a hurry and feel pressure.

      I'm glad you like my videos Regina. And you're right to feel the way you do. Success is not a destination, it's a journey that you take at your own pace. You don't need to live up to anyone else's expectations, that's not the reason that you were put on this earth. You're here to find your own path, keep up the great work!

    Thanks Craig. I got to 10k subs in my first year and am loving building a following and brand on TH-cam. I definitely appreciate the reach and communication with subscribers! However, in terms of direct income - definitely not worth the grind for that. However, for the brand and one-to-one communications, I think it's still really valuable.

      I agree, you definitely need to diversify your incomes streams outside of TH-cam Adsense if you want to make this work. Congrats on the 10K in one year, great job!

    Once again, thanks so much for this great instruction, Craig. Working my way through this playlist and it is a treasure trove of value. The most refreshing part of your advice is that you're not sugar-coating it with false promises of wealth and fame. Far too many videos out there doing that. I've given the same advice to anyone who has asked about a career in art...it's going to be hard work, a long game, and overnight success is a myth. No guarantees, but much better odds with persistence and focus. Your transparency about your stumbles (goal distraction and chasing the views for a time) is most appreciated. In case you're having one of those days where you question your impact, as we all do, this artist is learning a lot from you. On to the next video!

    Thanks Craig for this wonderful video! Its very informative and inspiring and I remember you sharing with me to put things in playlists. I see what you mean now after this video. I will look at my channel and see how I can clean things up and look at my analytics too. I agree that a personal why attached to your youtube channel is the place to go to come from a place of passion and not a place of greed. This was such a reflective video and a video to check in with ourselves :)
    Thank you again and loving all your content so far. You've always been so inspiring and so happy you are creating again from a place of love.

    So YT suggested this video to me. Absolutely no idea why, but I enjoyed it so I subscribed. Really liked the analysis of the size of YT channels.

    Rich, to me, means that I can quit my go-to-work job and live wherever I want. I don't need $1 million. I'm looking at ~$100K.
    Fame? Absolutely NOT. I value my privacy.

    • @CraigBabin
      @CraigBabin  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Well, $100K is definitely doable on TH-cam and you don't have to be on camera, there are 1,000's of extremely successful faceless TH-cam channels.

      How do u find this info?
      Doesn't the number of accounts / channels that have never posted anything skew the stats?
      I posted 5 videos in 2015 which all got age restricted. I stopped posting vids.

      @@theTeslaFalcon All of these stats are public in different spots on the web, just Google them. A lot of tech blogs figure this stuff out using Google analytics.
      Here's one: timqueen.com/youtube-number-of-channels/#what-is-the-total-number-of-youtube-channels
      The stats say "active" channels, so I guess it depends on what their definition of active is. But you're right, a channel that has uploaded at least one video, could be considered active, so in a way it does skew the data a bit. But that being said, I created my channel in 2018 and didn't upload any videos until 2021, so you can't rule all of those sleeper channels out.
      When you consider that there are 2.7 billion users on TH-cam, it's really not a big stretch to think that 114 million (about 4%) of them are attempting to create a TH-cam channel. And I would think that there are way more people (than 114 million) who have created a TH-cam channel, but done nothing with it. Remember, you've only failed at TH-cam when you quit and delete your channel, every channel that still exists, still has potential!
