We just stayed there last week and I loved this hotel! The ambience, smell, the staff, the interior were amazing! We were supposed to stay at the Historic Banyan Deluxe room but to our surprise we got a room in the tower wing with amazing views of the ocean and the city with a spacious balcony. Room was spacious for us (2 adults and 2 kids).We will definitely be staying there again!
We did actually go in and walk around one time. It would be great to stay there but we normally go to the Stay Hotel on Koa and sometimes the Ohana East around the corner if we want to spend a little more. Since we like to stay for the month of December it would be out of our reach at the Moana Surfrider. Everything else in Oahu is so expensive we try to save by going to lower end hotels. BUT! It sure would be nice, just one time. Thanks for the tour.

We have stayed here 4 times. I really like this place, the old section can be loud if you stay on the road side or can be loud if you overlook the bar. so loud they give you a white noise machine.
Favorite place to stay in Waikiki. The oldest hotel in Waikiki, it's redolent of Hawai'i Nei. Also, for many decades, the Banyan Court was the location of "Hawaii Calls" a fabled radio and later television show that did much to popularize the Islands as a holiday destination. It show cased Hawaiian music with live performances broadcast around the world.
I love this hotel but never actually walked that far into it I'll have to check it out next year when I go back to Hawaii. Also, your dress is beautiful!

I just saw this same lady on the Royal Hawaiian walk thru. She does a pleasant, informative, professional video. But for some reason, she brings to mind Monterrey N.L. , not Waikiki. And that`s okay too!

@@Livingtheglobe In March2022, when we were on Oahu and Kaua'i, my husband was looking all over Waikiki for the hotel with the Banyan tree courtyard where he and his family ate every day in December 1967. We found it. It was the Moana Surfrider ! He was so excited. (The Hotel has since changed names of course).
@@Livingtheglobe Hale Koa is a beautiful Hotel resort built on the deepest part of Waikiki beach by the US Government for Military R&R. If you are active duty or retired military you can stay there and the rate they charge depends on your rating when you retired. We also stay there because its one of the nicest places in Honolulu. I wouldnt compare it to any other Waikiki resort because its not available to everyone. But the Army Corp of Engineers makes sure there is plenty of sand on the beach there, and it is beautiful and very clean inside. The other thing I love is how quiet and relaxing it is to stay there. You never see kids out of control or people looking crummy. You never know, you might run into your commanding officer. Great view of the fireworks at the Hilton on Friday night, and the Barefoot Beach Bar is great! Great deals on Tori Richards hawaiian shirts at the NEX there too! But again, not everyone can stay there, and the federal government helps maintain it so its not really fair to compare it.
As a traveler, I understand that resort fees in Hawaii may be frustrating, but it is important to respect the local rules and customs of the destination we are visiting.
@@Livingtheglobe How hard is it to just raise the rates to include "Resort Fees" since it is not a local tax which I understand and willingly pay. "Resort Fees" go to the Hotel not the local government.
