Would you stay here? Have you stayed here? What's was your experience like?
My wife & I are lodging there in 6 days. 🤙🏿
Thank you for sharing. 😁
Foodland grocery store... Favorite!!!!! You can access the mall from the pool also. Also if you have AAA, they offer discount too.
My favorite night club rumours use to be near the lobby. I used to go there every afriday nite for happy hour . Excellent in buffet food was complimentary.
Thank you for sharing!
Great walkthrough!!! I stayed at Ala Moana by Mantra recently (after the renovation). It is a nice and elegant-looking hotel. However, I would recommend staying in the ocean or mountain view suites. The city view rooms are a bit small and somewhat loud due to construction in the area (between Ala Moana and the Hawaii Convention Center). As this video showed, the pool is a bit small -- especially when the hotel is busy. In fact, the pool was too crowded to enjoy while we were there in mid-August.
Still, the best part of this hotel is LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION. Beachside hotels in Waikiki have great views; yet, the resorts there are extremely crowded. The Ala Moana feels less congested. The staff is great and the adjacent mall is amazing -- with wonderful shops and food. The hotel is literally a short walk from Ala Moana park -- with phenomenal views of Waikiki, the city and unbelievable sunsets. It is also adjacent to several bus stops and stores like Target, Don Quixote and Food Land.
In other words, it is very possible to stay at this hotel WITHOUT A CAR RENTAL and have accessibility to public transportation or short walks to Ala Moana park, the mall and a relatively short walk around the Ala Wai marina to the Hilton lagoon at the edge of Waikiki. Staying in Waikiki is a great option, but this is a more budget-friendly option for people who might not want to spent 24/7 on Waikiki. Yet, we went to Waikiki nearly every day and enjoyed the shops, restaurants and beaches there. However, we also had access to Oahu's The Bus public transportation (by buying the HOLO bus card in Ala Moana mall).
If you can splurge, you should stay at a beachfront resort on Waikiki. Otherwise, I'd stay at the Ala Moana Honolulu by Manta before I'd stay at one of the hotels or results just off the beach in Waikiki. I think that the location might be better at Ala Moana if you plan to see more of the island than just Waikiki.
thank you for sharing! 🥰
Thank you so much for this information! I’ll start booking this place now.
Thanks very much for e tour. E hotel is beautiful n renovated. E last time I was at this hotel was in e 80s n it was so different. Looking forward to staying at this hotel again on my next Hawaii vacation!
Glad you enjoyed it
Bling BLING! Congratulations to you two! CHEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!
Thank you 🥳🎉🎉🎉 Cheeeee!!!! ❤️
Very informative video. I volunteered to work a month in Hawaii, and this will be the hotel my company houses me in. And it's very cool everything I will need is either in the hotel or a short walk.👍
Agree!
Hello guys. My family and I are here and we hope to run into you... we love watching you!
Thank you so much 🤗 hope to bump into you!
Just my luck...so wanted to meet you guys...we just left last week and we stayed at the ALA Moana for a month...just like you said very convenient when you don't have a car...so close to everything you need...many grocery shops and restaurants near by in walking distance. The staff there are really great and helpful if it's your first time to Oahu. Thank you for this video...I already miss that place.
Forgot to mention the Beach is so close by too...
Awww we are sad we missed you as well! Glad you enjoyed your stay!
Silly question. I stopped the video at 4 seconds to say, YES!. Anywhere in Waikiki is good enough for me. I did keep watching. Looks like they have made some improvements. Mahalo.
Mahalo 🌸
I stayed here a month ago with my 2 sons. Public areas are very nice. I didnt use or see the pool (which i regret) but looks beautiful. Loved the Starbucks in the lobby as well for a quick grab and go in the mornings. Parking can get full and have to park across the street but not bad. As far as the room it was good. Liked the balcony with a view as well.
Thanks for sharing ❤️
I stayed there when I relocated to Hawaii for a month. Wasn’t bad, but for sure wasn’t the best Waikiki has to offer.
That pool area is just my style and the laid back look of the place and proximity of the mall just might have me looking into staying there. I thought about it a few years ago as the property is a classic designed by John Graham and company the same people who designed the Ilikai as well as the Space Needle in Seattle. Looking at prices now, much more affordable than Waikiki proper for sure. Thanks for the informative video!
Glad you like it! 😄
We are having our wedding reception dinner at the steakhouse in a few weeks. We can't wait! Never been to Hawaii.
sounds wonderful! congratulations!🌸
Love this hotel‼️ So near Waikiki and the Ala Moana mall is walking distance‼️
Yes! Amazing hotel♥️♥️
I stayed there a couple of weeks ago. The location is super handy and it’s worth the price comparing with other hotels at Waikiki. The downside is their pool… which was not very clean.
Hey Alicia! 🤗 Thank you so much for sharing your recent experience at the hotel, it's so helpful to hear about the pros and cons of a property from someone who's actually stayed there. 💕 I'm glad to hear that the location was convenient and the price was reasonable compared to other hotels in the area, but I'm sorry to hear about the pool situation. 🏊 Hopefully, they'll address that issue soon! 🤞
The pool area is gorgeous!!!
Oh yeah, it's amazing! Have you ever been for a swim there?
Indeed a good informative tour showing the attributes and views frin the stake house are awesome! I never stayed there as lived opposite side of Waikiki whilst worked at design firm on Kakakaua Ave & Seaside Street.
It will date me for sure but, many many times I with many co-workers went after work, usually Fridays to this hotel as it had a great bar/music club called "Rumors"!
It was on 2 ir 3rd level access by ramp as parked in mall parking area. I'm sure it has changed and wonder what replaced it? Aloha!!
Thank you for sharing! Not sure about the club :)
Looks alright
we stayed over by the mall one time, and it’s nice over there al moana beach and magic island are both great,
and you can walk to hilton fairly easily and down into waikiki fast enough and for 90 dollars a night why not !
good budget deal 😄
Great video!!
😊
We stayed there in 2019, because we had a wonderful experience a couple years prior- with amazing service and ease of access to, and out of Waikīkī. However in 2019 we were very disappointed in our stay, possibly due to some issues/ growing pains they had during their change of management. 2nd floor had an odor, rooms were in bad shape, pool area not even close to looking sanitary or even usable. But Looking at this now, I see the pool and lobby looks amazing and that DaDa, a premier HNL spa/salon has opened in there- (they are incredible). I would gladly try another stay there now that it looks so clean and pulled together. I would be curious to see what the mid and higher range rooms look like, if they were also renovated. Mahalos for all your great content!
Thank you for sharing!
Is it better or cheaper to book straight to the hotel website and you mentioned no resort or hidden fees?
Yes on their website
My husband and I are going to be there on 9/28/2021 we have reserved our vac since 5 months ago see you soon ❣️🙏🏽
Yay! 👏👏👏
I wanted to say here. Looks nice! Ala Moana is a bit of a walk from Waikiki though, you will not want to do it more then once. I suggest a bike if staying there.
Thank you ❤️
Is the convenient store open 24 hours or it closes in certain hours?
Pretty sure it closes. Nothing in Hawaii is 24h
@@Livingtheglobe There’s 7Eleven, website says open 24/7, I have called six times and no one answered it.
Please walk completely around the barefoot beach cafe around noon to 2pm. And show the park area and who is there at the time.
My friend had the largest store in Alamoana center called India Imports
That’s where I stayed ! Loved it there
Me too. LOVEDDDD our stay on the 28th floor in August. Will be back there on my next visit 2022 Birthday
@@mom2js how was your room? I'm curious if they re-did the rooms since our last stay in 2019. Did it seem nice and were the furnishings modern / new?
@@Shisosalty I loved our room, it was fresh, modern, nice & quiet and the Lanai was perfect for my early mornings and night air enjoyment.
Looks good, I would stay there.
awesome 👏👏👏
There appears to be a new sparkle coming from Irina's left hand! Congrats guys!!! 🥰💍
Haha! yessss 🎉🎉🎉🍾🥂 Thank you!
How far is the walk to Waikiki Beach from this hotel, currently in Australia and looking at booking this for October next year! So pumped love Hawaii 😀
Depends what part of Waikiki Beach. The closes is the Hilton lagoon and it's about 15min walk
@@Livingtheglobe is the lagoon only for Hilton hotel guests, or can anyone use it?
It is public, everyone can use it 😀
Please do a walk through of The Modern Hotel. Mahalo.
We'll try!
We are in Hawaii right now😃
OMG! Welcome 👏👏👏
is there anyway you guys can do a walk through at Hale Koa. I know its for military and vets (which I am) but if you could that would be awesome. Coming Oct 1st.
we'll try 😄
Would you please do one of Waikiki Resort Hotel and Aston Waikiki Beach? Going at the end of October and deciding. 💕🤙🏻
We'll try 😄
Great walk through. My wife and me stay there last July it's a beautiful place, I do have 2 bad complaints , 1;- When you stay there, the hotel's wifi kicks in, that's ok, but when the time comes that you want your internet back, big time problem, don't even call the so called electrical engineer, if you get the same one we got, he he he , my dog knows more about internet., 2;- There's a crazy restaurant on the 20th floor, they charge $20 for a Hawaiian hamburger that looks like a dead rat, and taste even worst , that was the only restaurant that was open at the time, because of the Pandemic. We plan to return , as soon as the pandemic is over, we're buying a house on the north side of Oahu.
Sorry to hear about the problems you experienced during your stay. The Ala Moana mall has lots of options so I'm sure you will find something you like. we ate at the signature restaurant there and the steak was good.
@@LivingtheglobeThank you for your kindness. Yes, my wife loved getting lost in the Ala moana mall, she could always see the hotel anyway. When we were there, the church 2 blocks away, Peter & Paul catholic church, was locked closed, there were no services 7/24. If we were able to go inside a restaurant, we had to show proofs we had our vaccinations , and then they only admitted no more than 10 people. We were surprised the Kmart was open, so we bought our food thee and cooked it in our suite. Waikiki beach was almost empty, it wasn't the usual Hawaii, even the Governor announced to the world it wasn't the best time to visit Hawaii. We found out there were only 2 burger kings in the whole island, plus the one in the airport , 2 Mc Donald's and one didn't even looked like a McDonald's. The only 2 things that were still gorgeous as ever, was the weather and the Hawaiian natives.
Were you guys at Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve last week? Because I swear I saw you!!! We went last week on Wednesday and it was so much fun! I made a snorkeling video that's on my channel if you want to check it out! Loved Hawaii! Mahalo!
Aloha! We have not been to Hanauma Bay last week 😄
@@Livingtheglobe My eyes were playing tricks on me!
Could y’all do the Waikiki Hyatt Place?! I will be staying there and I’m curious to see a good video on it. 🤩Also where can you park there would be good to know.
We'll try we only have a month here left 😄
“Fiancé Devon”!!!!! 💕💕💕💕💕
yessss ❤️❤️❤️
The pool area looks nice except for the pool it doesn't look like a resort style pool..
a bit disappointing
This looks like an “OK” hotel, but honestly, there’s nothing beautiful or unique about it. There looks like a LOT of wasted indoor space. I’m the daughter of an industrial arts teacher, wood working consultant, builder and a master of remodeling of many homes, I really look for design. Other than the fact it is attached to the Ala Moana shopping center, I see really no reason to stay there. Room rates seem reasonable, most likely because it is not on Waikiki. Thanks so much for showing us the different hotels available in Honolulu, along with all the OTHER great info you provide us! Next month, Waikiki here I come! ❤️😍🌺🌴😘
Thank you for sharing! It's a budget hotel so a lot of our viewer requested a tour :)
I bet it felt so good to say fiance lol
Again congrats!!!
Sure does
Did you stay here?
No
Sorry but I didn't see what the rooms look like.🤔
We did not have access to the rooms
🙏😘🇩🇴
No gym????
They do have a gym and a spa.
