Aren’t you also supposed to spray the pencils with alcohol and wipe with tissue as well as sharpening before and after using them? That’s what they taught us in school. I’m located in Long Island NY. They made a big deal out of that step too. And also don’t you have to sanitize your hands every single time you throw something in the garbage? Was anyone else taught these steps in school?
I believe you Gus out there are just wayyy more strict . But just do what you were taught! Just remember those key things that wasn’t taught in this video.
Thank you for all of your videos & advice! I’m currently in Esthetician school in Michigan and I finish school this April. After I take my MI state boards I want to go to New York & take the state boards there as well because I’ve always wanted to move to NY & it’s a goal of mine, so this is extremely helpful! :)
This exam looks so easy compared to the cosmetology exam I took in California. In hindsight, I would have just taken aesthetician course. Doing hair is not as interesting or lucrative, unless you are gifted in that area. Thank you for this instructional video and your mannequins makeup looked great!!
Did you move the head maniquin during makeup, or you stand up in front of it. Idk what to do with my body position to perform a makeup in a lie down model 😢
I’m taking my practical on Friday!! This video helped me so much! Tyyy! So we don’t have to use actual make up brushes ?? And does the makeup all need to be labeled?
Every time I scraped into the palette I used a new clean popsicle stick. I didn’t spray it with alcohol at all, I suppose you can but you don’t have to. I did use a paper towel with alcohol to wipe off any pencils that I had to sharpen right before sharpening them though
Hi I watch your video it was great but my question is I don’t see any make up part on my Bolton psi esthetician I am so confused my exam is next week 😊thanks
Hello! Thank you for your videos. For the NYS boards did you have to remove the makeup as well, or after they look at it and tell you to clean up, did you just put the head back in your bag with makeup on?
I used all brand new makeup unless it was something that could be sharpened. I’m not sure if it necessarily HAD to be brand new but I brought mostly all brand new things just to be safe

Can I brow map before doing the brows?
Thank you for these videos 🙌

I would label all the makeup and no you don’t have to use actual brushes. Good luck!!!
Was your makeup application timed? 30 minutes, 20 for application and 10 for cleanup?
Following.
How did you end up sanitizing your makeup. Did you spray with alcohol right after you palette it out?
Every time I scraped into the palette I used a new clean popsicle stick. I didn’t spray it with alcohol at all, I suppose you can but you don’t have to. I did use a paper towel with alcohol to wipe off any pencils that I had to sharpen right before sharpening them though

Hi this video was showing the protocol for New York, so I would go by the exam protocol for your specific state!

I just put it back in my bag with the makeup on and wiped it off when I got in my car
When you do the make up do you turn the head towards you?
