- Hello and welcome to this video on building the World Trade Center! I tried to recreate the World Trade Center as accurately as possible, and I hope you guys enjoy the video!
I used the Shattered World Limits Mod to create this build, as the default built height is not tall enough to fit the Twin Towers!

It's beautiful, never had the chance to see them or live in their era, but looking at many pics I end up fascinated by how they shined from the 70's to 00's NYC skyline and could be seen from the other boroughs/cities.
In addition the World Trade Center complex is so large (at sixteen acres) that it happens to have its own ZIP Code that was separate from the ZIP Code of Manhattan.
This build will for sure blow up. Man time flies so fast, sadly there’s only one tower.

The North Tower featured multiple restaurants on its 106th and 107th floor called the Windows on the World. The South Tower featured and indoor and outdoor observatory with shopping, snacks, a theater, a model of NYC, and a mini museum.

Fun fact: a lawyer was staying in the Marriott hotel when the attacks happened. He was in the South tower when it collapsed, and managed to escape to the hotel. From there, he tried to evacuate through the lobby of the North tower, when it too started to collapse. Correct me if Im wrong, but he is the only credited person to have survived the collapses of both towers.

And fun fact: the planes weren't just aimed at the towers, they were aimed also at the White House and the Pentagon.
The one that hit the pentagon happened to hit a recently reinforced side of the building and the one aimed at the white house was taken back and crashed into a field
it's unclear which location flight 93 was precisely going to crash into. apparently, according to recovered flight data from the plane, it was most likely headed for the U.S. capitol, not the white house.
The effort put into a remake of such a historic landmark in a blocky video game is unbelievable. I’m really impressed with how this looked! This gets a 10 out of 10 from me.

Fun Fact(s):
-The 9/11 attacks weren’t actually the first attacks on the World Trade Center, a van (placed by none other than Al Qaeda) blew up in a parking garage near the North Tower. The plan was that the North Tower would fall onto the South Tower. It failed quite obviously. It happened on February 26, 1993. Six died.
-There was a plaza to memorialize the six who died, Unfortunately, the plaza was destroyed in 9/11, and the six names are now mixed with the 9/11 victims, both on the rim of one of the memorial fountains and in the museum.

i tried building the world trade center a few years back but i wasnt able to finish because i put too much stress on myself to build it. although i did make a memorial for one of my friends who passed to covid on our minecraft realm that was somewhst influenced by the memorial pools where the towers once stood.
This video almost flew over my head, but when i decided to click it, the amount of effort put into it blew me away! This left a huge impact on me. This will go down as one of the best builds in minecraft!

Heaven knows how long it will be until the World Trade Center complex is fully rebuilt. The cost of the project is in the tens of billions of dollars and climbing. I ask if this is much too high a cost; or is it a necessary down payment on healing?

You all forgot that the office that was directly struck by the “plane” that hit the pentagon was on of two places that had the documents about the 3 trillion dollars that disappeared the day before. The other place was wtc7 which got hit as long with the other wtc

I remember back in the days of Minecraft Classic, mid 2011. I’m pretty sure I was the first person crazy enough to build the entire Trade Center complex in 1:1 scale, complete with outbuildings, shopping mall, subway station, and interiors. Pretty great to see there are people such as yourself still carrying on the good work today, and in even greater visual fidelity than I could have imagined back then. Great work!

History buff here! The reason why there was a hotel at the WTC complex was because it was a tourist attraction. it was also a government building that had government agencies in them like USPS, restaurants etc business owners come to visit their branch that was in the building, tourist stayed because it was a convenient location, lawyers stayed because they had legal meetings in the building the twin towers were literally a mini city there’s nothing that wasn’t in them that’s why the hotel was around.
You don’t need to be a history buff to understand this. This is just common sense.

After you asked at 3:55 I got curious as well, I did a bit of research and the hotel, known as the "World Trade Center Marriott," was primarily driven by the vision of creating a mixed-use development. The idea was to make the World Trade Center not only a hub for international trade and business but also a destination for tourism and hospitality. The Marriott World Trade Center opened in 1981 and provided accommodation for business travelers, tourists, and visitors to the city.

A lot of people traveled to NY and stayed at the marriot also because like you said it was a tourist destination being the tallest buildings in the world at the time and also because there was the observation deck at the top of the 2nd building.. I think it was called the sky deck or something.. it definitely brought a lot of people to the wtc

The hotel was there mainly for those who had large business meetings at the WTC plus, it was also quite the tourist attraction too.

You did a good job with this. You handled this very well. About once a year i get sad and watch videos about the towers and sometimes 9/11 because i lost my father in the attacks. And i cant help but look at videos and read articles about survivors sometimes. My father passed instantly he was in the north tower in the impact zone. But yeah i was sad reading about 2 friend's that were messaging each other on pagers because the cell phones were not working and it led me here. I feel better

There was a hotel at the wtc because it was a massive tourist attraction. There was a hotel and there was a mall underground. There were also restaurants and tourist attractions within the towers themselves, famously the windows on the world restaurant at the top of the north tower and the vista point on the roof of the south tower.
On average the wtc could support over 150,000 people in the buildings at once
