  • Our second visit to Oman was to the port city of Salalah. Salalah has a long history as a port city for Frankincense, an archaeological park shows ruins of a port city during the height of that trade, with a Grand Mosque, The Fort (Palace) and City Walls and A Lagoon.. Al-Baleed or Al-Balid Archaeological Park also houses the Museum of the Frankincense Land. Our first stop was to the tomb of the prophet Job, a sacred place to Muslims, Jews and Christians as Job was mentioned in both the Bible and Quran. We also see present-day Salalah by visiting the Sultan's Palace when his is in Salalah, drive by a souk and see the outside of Sultan Qaboos Mosque. The funniest part of our tour was being able to see the camels, such interesting animals.

I would be amazed with the camels 🐪 too! A golf ⛳️ cart is a great idea to get around! Thanks for taking us around!

Honestly those camels were incredible! I know they see them every day but I certainly don't. Yes, I was so thankful for that golf cart, it allowed to us to see the whole site easily and I wanted to see as much as possible. Thanks so much for watching!

It was way too hot not to use that golf cart! It is ridiculous how excited my sister and I got about the camels, I loved them! Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment.

Another fascinating place you have shared with us here. Salalah has such a fascinating history. And Salalah is also fun to say. It was so cool that you got to see Job's (possible) tomb. Job is believed to have lived 4000 or more years ago so that is a really old tomb if that is where he is buried. Seeing the desert terrain and the camels was really cool. I imagine viewing from the golf cart was better than walking through the desert. Thanks for sharing Oman with us!

I was surprised how much I liked Salalah and it's history...and I loved those camels. I know there are other places that claim Job's tomb but it seems Salalah has a good case. No way could I have walked in that heat...the golf cart was AMAZING! ha ha. Thanks so much for watching!
