- This year marks the 20th anniversary of deaths of Ayrton Senna and Roland Ratzenberger during the terrible San Marino Grand Prix weekend from 29th April to 1st May 1994. We went back to Imola, Italy with 25,000 fans and some current and past Formula 1 drivers to remember both drivers and pay tribute in their memory. Join us in our way back to history as Gerhard Berger, Kimi Räikkönen and exclusively also Keith Sutton were talking about Ayrton and Roland for our The F1 Magazine. Gone but never forgotten. Safety of modern Formula 1 is their legacy.
We also witnessed one special moment, when a private owner brought Ayrton Senna's Lotus 97T from 1985 season to Imola and the car went on the track for the first time in 29 years. Join us for that magical moment. Ayrton Senna took his first win with this car in the Portuguese GP 1985.

I'm kinda gonna twist prost's words (when asked about Gilles).
Prost was the better professional, but Senna was the better racer. In a pure speed dogfight; senna stands out, at the cost of playing smarter with points.
And let's not forget, by the time senna came in he was a lot younger and was seen as a fast-learning prodigy against Prost's already developed-prime veteran.

They say the only way u would crash on this corner is with a mechanical failure. yet there was no barriers, tyres or sand. Just fine gravel at over 200 miles an hour. I always thought it was Williams worn steering column that killed my hero. but tonight lying in my bed it was the track!

Senna is by far my favorite driver but that does mean that I think he was the fastest driver.I think prost was a better all around driver.

I do not agree with the comment below Schumacher was not better than Senna!! you say about limits!! You are probably on about Suzuka with the accident on the first corner? What about Schumacher & Damon Hill in the OZ GP Prost was not on a level with Senna and you can see that from when they had the same Machines. Monaco GP qualified by a second quicker points to a different level to me!!
