I don’t like taking care of myself (brushing my teeth, washing my face…) and I don’t think I’m depressed (although I have been diagnosed with bipolar disorder) but when I see you doing your skin care and and taking care of your teeth it makes me want to do that too, so thanks for helping me. I love your content so much, you’re my fave TH-camr! 💕🐾😺😺

part of being bipolar is the condition will 100% convince you that youre not sick. but also, bipolar is often misdiagnosed in place of autism or adhd i highly suggest a second opinion if you truthfully dont feel you are depressed.

Hey :) I have a pro tip for you for getting into the body instead of the head in the morning :) I used to practice mindfulness with Thich Nhat Hanh for many years, read his books, listen to his teachings... And one thing that helped me immensely was when lying in bed still, before opening the eyes, noticing the body. And in my head I had these sentences "breathing in I notice I have a body. Breathing out I connect to my body. Breathing in I feel my body. Breathing out I smile to my body. Breathing in I am grateful for my body. Breathing out I realize that my body is a wonder. Breathing in I feel present in the moment. Breathing out I know that this is a wonderful moment. This moment. Wonderful moment." And then I practice gratitude for being alive and being offered this day and only then I get up and do my Yoga. This helpes immensely with not getting into the head and thinking of work especially as a self-employed person.

One thing that really helped me have a good and consistent morning routine was starting in the evening - I make overnight oats and put them in the fridge before going to bed and choose my outfit for the next day, so those choices are already taken care off. Sometimes I put out a cup with the tea bag already in it so I just have to add water. Small but useful little things really do help. These days I start work later so it's all a mess, but hopefully I come back to something cohesive again soon xD

For my fellow cozy friends, I’d really like to shine a light on the advice you gave at 28:57. I’ve struggled with anxiety, burnout, and wanting to keep things heavily structured and regimented myself in the past. Your advice reminded me of how I treated myself when I was a child with no concerns of what the world thought about me; I’d just let myself explore new avenues and be present and see what took form.
Not sure if it’s been similar for you, K. As a creative myself, I’ve had to sort of decouple and decompress myself from a lot of bad habits I picked up that boxed me in from exploring and letting the process play out. I can’t tell you how helpful this section was for advice. Thank you so much! ☺️

❤ My cat passed away last Friday and this video is distracting me from my grief and comforting me today. Thank you so much for all your content and what you do. I’m still trying to heal from severe burnout as I worked 50-70 hour weeks for almost 3 years straight besides taking my 2 weeks vacation and a handful of personal days each year. It ended with a mental health breakdown last year and I’m still learning how to balance it all. Thank you for everything ♥️ your sweet kitty babies making biscuits is helping me so much

I think it’s important to go with your natural functions of how your mind works. In the morning you want to get work done then that’s natural. I’m more of an evening to night person, so I get all my chores, errands, and whatever else together in the morning. I’ll be more focused on work and whatever else done in the late afternoon to evening. It helps keep me from being frustrated about my to-to list.

You are so right about some of us needing to schedule our downtime, in terms of not just putting the time aside but actually deciding what *relaxing* things to do, in advance, do that we don't spend our whole time off doing other crap.
If i don't write "take a bath" in my planner, I end up cleaning my damn house more. I have kids, there's ALWAYS more cleaning which could be done. Should I do it? No! I should take a bath!!
    Thx for the reminder.
If i could get up an hour earlier I could plan a morning routine, but as it is I want (need) the sleep more so I roll straight into making lunches, waking, dressing and feeding two children, feeding a cat etc etc etc. I do get cuddles with said children so that's a nice slow part I will protect

    • @CozyK
      @CozyK  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

Exactly, yes!! So guilty of creating work/tasks out of thin air when I just need to sit my butt down and chill out lolol (getting better tho!!)
Also staying in bed and getting cuddles IS a routine! It’s one that works for you and I love that you honor that!🫶🏽

I'm going to sit down today and answer those same prompts. I think it'll help solidify my ideal morning routine but most importantly will give MEANING and PURPOSE to it. I love it! I saw someone on tiktok make a menu of hobbies/dopamine boosters and it’s now my go to when I catch myself scrolling all weekend.
Apps - quick boosts under 30 minutes (stretch, walk, do nails)
Entrees - passions that light you up (video games, reading, hike, visit a friend)
Sides - something to make a boring activity better (light a candle, have a yummy drink)
Desserts - usual go to’s but yucky in excess (scrolling, Netflix binge)
    Specials - (concert, travel)
Could be fun to use to add to your itinerary 😊

I really love the concept of the weekend itinerary! I can get caught up with how I "should" spend my weekend and I end up not doing much of what I really want to be spending my time on. Then Monday comes and I feel like I wasted my weekend. But today I used this concept of the weekend itinerary and I had a really lovely time at my favorite local lake sketching, swimming, and just enjoying being out in nature! Thanks Kennedy!🩷

That variance routine method might actually change my life, I’ve gotta get on that. Last year I had a completely consistent work schedule and it was so easy to plan hobbies, workouts, and seeing friends and family around it, and a morning and evening routine just fell into place! This year I’ve been working shifts and had inconsistent days and those routines and priorities have just Dropped, but I’m gonna write down variants for what to do on my different shifts. I love this idea and thank you so much for sharing it!! 🧡

Watching this as I woke up super early for the first time in a very long time, it’s such a good practice to write down a routine and also look back and reflect on what I want to change or could do better, it’s such a good way of getting things done that you’ve been thinking about and haven’t done, and create a more healthy sustainable lifestyle! I was even stretching when you were doing yoga cause it reminded me how nice a morning stretch is too! Perfection 🕯️hope everyone has a great day at *their* pace :)

As someone who's fitness routine prioritizes flexibility and mobility, you should incorporate counter-stretches in your routine to avoid soreness and pain! When you do the split stretch, you should follow it up with a shoelace pose in order to focus on the opposite muscles. If you only focus on the one side (the inner and not the outter) then you will be unbalanced. I also learned strength training is a huge part of ensuring your body isn't over exerting itself. Good luck with your fitness routine!

I've been watching your content for a while now, not sure how long but long enough...😂 Anyway, although sometimes my schedule is ridiculous and absolutely disrespectful (life of a single parent), I've really had to learn to enforce boundaries and carve out some time to reset, mostly to myself for myself. I would push myself to the brink of meltdowns. I've been working remotely from home for over 3 years now, and at one point I was working 50 hour weeks for my corporate job, plus an additional 10-15 hours for my home based business.
Eventually, I had to cure back a lot for my mental and emotional wellness. I've gone back to working a standard 40 hours, and I've been SLOWLY working on my home based business since I've decided to rebrand and relaunch it. I take Sunday as my rest day, and I enforce it heavily both with loved ones and myself. I swear, my favorite thing is to just become one with my couch on Sunday and watch all the true crime docuseries and various types of documentaries as I can handle. I've also implemented 30 min of before bed reading to slow down and get into a restful state. Before parenthood, I was reading upwards of 3 books a month, which I do miss, but I love my teenager more. So I've set a realistic goal of reading one new book a month plus however many audio books I can squeeze in while working.
I say ALL OF THAT to say this, thank you for constantly reminding me to give myself grace and slow my a$$ down. 💜

Love it!! Just in time for the weekend! I’m gonna try to do my hands and feet this weekend!! I just got a foot bath I’m so excited to try it but trying to gain the motivation to do this self care 😂
I also wanted to ask, do you think you could do a video relating to your personal belief/spirituality? Or your journey or thoughts of that area in your life? I hear you say several different things like being grateful, mindfulness, thanking the universe, etc. just curious! Totally understand if it’s an area in your life you choose not to put out. Thanks for the awesome videos!! Xoxo

i don’t really have a spiritual journey! just kind of boppin around, grateful for life! lol

I am amazed when people can static stretch on cold muscles. My body hates me if I do this. I have to at least lightly warm up 😞 5:24

It is so cute how Chila is always wanting a treat and you know how people say that their pets tend to adopt their owners behavior/personality…😜Coincidence ?! I think notttt 😏😂 lol jkjk I would hope that maybe he sees it as quality time with mama but who knows 🤔 just speculating 😊

The anxiety of you painting your toes in your cozy corner without putting something under your feet to protect from accidents 😬 I would have somehow spilled the whole bottle of nail polish on the blanket/chair and panicked. I'm glad you had the confidence and bodily awareness to not be as much of a klutz as I can be.

Hi Kennedy! I have been a follower for awhile and love your stuff. As someone who is also diagnosed ASD I have incorporated a lot of your suggestions and have found them so helpful (Kindle, colouring, movement with yoga, etc.)
Random question but I’ve seen you drink more matcha lately - have you stopped drinking coffee due to any reason? I ask because I have a hard time remembering to hydrate and eat (glad you had the Liquid IV rec as they’ve really helped) caffeine just makes me feel worse and I’ve noticed the slow release with match has made a big difference. Just wondering if maybe it was the same for you!
Anyways, I’m loving these mindful videos and ways to manage habits! Lots of love from a Cali girl in Scotland ❤

Sorry my phrasing was poor by the way: I wasn’t implying any diagnosis on your part I meant as some who is Autistic I find your routines and suggestions soothing! Apologies if it’s implied otherwise!

I’m so glad they’ve helped!!🤎 I always drank decaf coffee, matcha, or chai lattes since too much caffeine gives me panic attacks! I used to be a matcha fiend back when I drank SB but hadn’t found a substitute for them until recently, so I’m back on my matcha kick! I totally agree that the slow release keeps the anxiety away!

Thanks again for your content but especially this video it felt almost kismet! I’m taking a couple months off doing my PhD and learning to slow down in the right ways and your suggestions on having variant schedules is genius and something I’m going to implement.
