In my early 20's, one of the first steps I took in awakening was overcoming severe depression. I was unable to provide for my new family, with a child on the way/just born, I struggled with my sense of value. One of the key things that has helped me has been learning to let go of guilt. There's a strong ego tendency to feel guilt, then project it outward. It can bring great peace merely to observe/witness negativity. Deny any guilt involved, and simply see the fear or anger or neglect. To not judge anything, but simply experience it, takes away its power to control my thoughts and feelings. At first it was felt in my self, but became quickly apparent that with no internal guilt, there is none to project on anyone else. It can be very empowering, and open the way to new experiences, rather than bogging down in despair.

Ditto here! My colleagues cannot fathom it. I live very simply and spend much of my spare time watching non dual vids, self inquiring, and reading. A trip to the local cafe has become a highlight. All the best.
This was very poignant to my current phase 😊 it's a challenge but I'm starting to see the illusion.. I keep being pulled in and out, fear taking over and then being able to surrender again. While watching I liked how the trees in the background, seen through the window, were always moving by the wind or just moving as there is no doer in the wind and I sensed while you were talking, what you where talking about, by just watching the trees moving constantly, life itself always moving, like a river and I sense now what I am afraid of, if I surrender, I am afraid of the abyss, that the abyss will eat me. I saved this video to watch it again later. Thanks ❤
We put down doing.Ive heard we have to degrade the tendency we have to control experience.Or lose interest in experience. So many things compete for our attention
Very interesting to allow the "not doing", It immediately feels freeing, but also the sense that Nothing is going to get done...such as responsibilities to your mate and your household...but you can explain to your wife that this is Shar's recommendation...(can we joke here?)....No, actually, very interesting to explore this space of no doer, no motivator...watching the motivation come up out of nothing...profoundly surprising and kind of funny...
Hi Shar. The obvious paradox here is that of an illusory doer having to do all these things like simplifying life and letting to ultimately realise they don’t exist. And who would realise that?
Do we really don't exist? Or is this a reference to the character we've constructed? In other words: are we just an illusion or are we physical beings not aware of our tru🎉being?
When you came into form, you forgot you were God/Awareness and you got caught up in the story and life of the character. Through awakening you begin to naturally put down doing, much of which forms the character's story, and rest more in being. This helps you to access presence which is the felt sense of Awareness. You will realise that much of what you were doing was because you believed you were a person, so many things will drop away and change. In the end you will take spontaneous action as required in the moment, without any belief in a doer.
What about beliefs such as "Everything works in my favour?" I'm seeing that people often don't fulfil what they say they will so I practice letting go. It's easy to let go with certain beliefs
All beliefs are seen to be illusory during awakening. Life will just unfold as it always has, sometimes we will enjoy that, sometimes we won't. Life does not happen to us, it is just happening.
I concur, however, being that/if there is no doer, there is no one here to set down doing. Everything is happening of itself, including dropping the idea of the doer, or not as the case may be isn’t it? Where is a personal will if there is no person. Where, who or what would pick up or drop anything? I’m 2014 there was a profound, major awakening experience here, the result of the 12 step process in my first year of recovery from 35 years of chronic, early onset, late stage alcoholism. Upon returning home I found I’d never actually left. I’ve been here the whole time. There is no personal will or being that can speed up or slow down the awakening process or drop the doer yes? It will happen on its own, or it won’t. It will happen for everyone eventually, whenever it’s been determined to happen I feel. I could be wrong too. I’m not but I could be. You saying drop the doer then at 11 min your saying there is no doer to drop the doer. Can you see how confusing that is for people? Also true, there is no one there doing that. You, or life rather, is doing exactly as it’s been casually determined to do through you, just as it is through me. ❤🙃😋 May you be at ease. May you all be happy. May you be loved and give love to all beings. Ps. Don’t eat dead, tortured, cruelly and horrendously abused animals. You’re literally and metaphorically eating yourself.

And the English spirituality of LISA CAIRNS, introverted, introspective, unclear, subjective, melancholic, not very energetic, exaggeratedly intellectual. In fact Rupert Spira is English, very typical! Australian spirituality is starting to seem, in my opinion, the most didactic and effective. Direct, focused, practical, scientific, clear. Without mincing words, hyperbole, metaphors, toxic positivity, melancholic stagnation or exaggerated intellectuality. Also, in a country that is basically a desert island isolated from everything, with dangerous, venomous and deadly animals everywhere, if you stop to sing, dance or be melancholically slow... If you are not focused, direct, practical, you and your generations would not have a very good chance of surviving in a challenging environment like Australia. So there's no free will and nobody, no dooer... what is all this then? If there's no free will and no body then who are you speaking to and why? If there isn't anyone then who can do anything especially if there's no free will?
Hello Shar Just wanted to let you know, I still can’t find the join button I can find the join button on other channels but not this one. Just so you know 😊
How do I know wether I'm in the process of awakening or just a lost soul heading away from awakening and toward the void? There isn't a sense of peace, often times I feel rage and a sense of being stuck and a sense of not wanting to be here
You wouldn't be interested in awakening videos unless you were going through an awakening. Awakening can feel very challenging at times, but it will be worth it in the end.
@@shar-jason thank you. Sometimes it feels that hoping for a " grand finale" in awakening, or seeing that awakening is something that will happen, is wishful thinking. And the mind starts thinking that I'm drifting further away from reality or sanity. Is it enough that I'm interested in awakening content to confirm that all of this leads to something or some type of realization though?
If there isn't anyone who's "doing" then who is experiencing this illusion, who are you speaking to? Are you speaking to anyone? Is this not happening?
