    One more thing: these are actually the regular SEBA HIGH LIGHT skates, not the V2 ones (the boot and the frames are slightly different)

    Could i get sizing advice, I have 26cm;260mm length, 10cm width - not sure if I should go 40EU or 39 with break in... Im getting mixed answers that some people down a size for a super snug or exact size with break in... Do you have advice?

      I've always just stuck with my usual size with these, they are always have some extra room that you can fill up with an inner sole and thicker sock if need be. I'd only go a size down if you are prepared to return it. Having said that they did have a little too much room if you prefer a snug fit but I did get a blister with them. Maybe that was because of movement that would be eliminated if they were a size smaller but that's something I never risk because I'd rather have spare room than a skate that is too tight. Your decision really, good luck with it, hope that helps

    Thanks for your thorough reviews. I watched the one you did about the FE Drift 2.0. As I was debating between those and the Seba HL (non V2), these reviews helped. As you pointed out, I’m afraid the FE drift might break too prematurely because I intend to do some slides and learn various skills. I had a pair of FR1, pretty good, but became a bit loose, so I wanted something more responsive but still sturdy.
    Any advice ?
    Thanks

      sighange thanks for the feedback, good to see I could be of help to someone. I think if you are going to be trying lots of tricks and potentially crashing a lot I would try and stick to a hard plastic boot and a brand where parts are readily available. Depending on what country you are in that will change around the world.
      I found the Rollerblade skates to be very tough and impossible to break if you're talking about a hard plastic boot. I know Powerslide and Flying Eagle also do hard plastic boot skates too. I have very little experience with Seba other than this skate reviewed but the majority of their skates seem to be similar construction to this, a mesh and plastic mix.
      If you're looking for responsive skates then I assume you'd want a skate with carbon fibre in it but all carbon skates I've seen are a carbon fibre and mesh mix which puts you back to square one in that the mesh is susceptible to being torn in a crash.
      I think it really comes down to how much you think you may fall over vs how responsive you want the skate or how flexible you want it. If you think you'll go down often pick a plastic boot and change the frame to suit your wheel size. Powerslides Megacruiser, Rollerblade RB110/RB80/Twister models etc, Flying Eagle F110 models all look good. If Seba have a hard plastic model you like and you know Seba fit you well go for that perhaps.
      If you really want that speed skate responsiveness with Carbon Fibre then Seba and Flying Eagle are the only brands doing something in an urban skate. Rollerblade and Powerslide only do carbon fibre skates for marathon and speed skating as far as I know.
      Hope that helps

      ofpplayer thanks for your prompt response. I tried the RB twisters and 80 in the past, and got some horrible ankle pains, I even sent them back to RB. I think the number of complains about the twisters is the reason why they change the shape of the boot this year. I had the Seba Fr, which was plastic, very appreciated in the skating community, but I wanted to experience something else. For now, I am trying the adapt hyperskates zero, which are not bad, and supposed to be the perfect mix of sturdiness (Nubuck leather, hard shell), with speed (carbon fiber), and responsiveness. But I can’t get the right fit that I have with buckles (it only has waxed laces and a Velcro on top), so I’m still thinking.... for now I’m in the US but I’ll move to Europe soon. As far as parts go, RB, SEBA and Powerslide are probably the best bets... if I decide to let the adapts go...
      Thanks again

      sighange cool, I've never seen those skates you mentioned, they sound interesting. If you can try on the Flying Eagle Drift Carbon and test them I think you'll find they will feel great. I also had the same problems you had with RB110, the pressure on the ankle bone. I have to leave the top very loose to not get the pain. Although the material on the Flying Eagle Drift carbon skates may wear away easy if you fall a lot it would still be easy to fix any holes with a plastic melt or resin that could be melted on to the skate. I have seen it done on Powerslide Kaze 110mm skates when someone put a hole in the toe.
      Speaking of heat the Drift carbon skates are heat moldable. I put mine in the oven the other night and molded them to fit my feet even better. Am still yet to be able to go on a skate since molding them but hopefully tomorrow. So there is always that extra bonus that a lot of other brands don't have if you have issues with finding a good fit. Hopefully you can see them in the flesh and compare them to Seba. I think you might like them. Good luck with the move to Europe.

      ofpplayer thank you very much. The adapts are heat moldable too. I had them for 5 days. I’ll give them another week worth of « break in » and maybe bake them too, if nothing gets better. Then I’ll decide.
      Happy skating with your baked drifts 😎

    How does this 13.5 Seba compare in size/fit to the RB 110 in size 14? If the RB fits me in size 14, you think the Seba in 13.5 will fit?
    Thanks for your informative videos.

    • @ofpplayer
      @ofpplayer  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it will. The Seba is wider at the toe than my size 14 RB110, the Rollerblade toe tapers in but the Seba is more square. If you fit in the 14 Rollerblade you'll definitely fit in the Seba

      Great, thanks man! Really like your videos since we are both skaters with bigger feet.

      Sorry for all the questions, but I am interested in ordering the skate and want to make sure it will fit. The current High Light only comes in size 13 or 14 (no 13.5), so do you know what size in EU sizing yours is? Only the size 13 (EU 47) is available online, so I want to know if that will fit my foot?

    • @ofpplayer
      @ofpplayer  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@cameronsapaugh8979 I couldn't honestly be sure but my foot is 30 cm long which makes me a 47 or US13 but I have wide toes so need a 13.5/48 and as the Rollerblade RB80 and RB110 only come in 13 and 14 I went with 14. If you have narrow toes there is a chance the 13 may fit you if your foot is 30cm long. If you have wide toes you will need a 13.5/48 skate or shoe doesn't matter what you're buying. I don't have the Seba anymore so can't tell you, I sold it unfortunately

      If you don't call buying, owning, skating on something then telling you what the good and bad about a skate is a review then I'd love to see your definition of a review. It's in a box because it's for sale again after I skated it on a a 3 x 125mm frame then cleaned it up and put it back in the box in case you missed that part
