Chennai-Bengaluru Expressway Project Details | Greenfield Expressway - CW Projects

  • The Chennai-Bengaluru expressway is a green-field alignment project with a planned closed toll system. There are two roads currently connecting the capital cities of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. One is via Hoskote and 335 km long, and the other route covers the Electronic City and Hosur, running a distance of 372 km. The alignment of the new Bengaluru-Chennai Expressway is planned to be built between these two stretches.
    The greenfield expressway is to be a 262 km, six-lane, access-controlled expressway starting at Hoskote in Karnataka and ending at Outer Ring Road near Chennai, reducing the travel time between the two metropolitan cities from six to seven hours currently to over four hours. It offers a speed limit of 120 km for vehicles while cutting down the distance between the two cities by 80 km. At present, the distance between Bengaluru and Chennai through Krishnagiri in Tamil Nadu is 345 km.
    The expressway is being executed under a public-private partnership (PPP). It is valued at approximately Rs. 17, 900 crore and requires the acquisition of land worth 2,650 hectares, of which around 800 hectares lie in Karnataka. As of December 2018, the Centre had already expended Rs 1,370 crore on pre-construction activities.
    The expressway project is planned to be executed in five phases: Bengaluru to Kolar; Kolar to Palamaner; Palamaner to Chittoor; Chittoor to Kancheepuram and Kancheepuram to Sriperumbudur. Two proposed elevated expressways will provide connectivity of the last mile to Chennai. All of the lands has been acquired as of February 2020, the National Highways Authority of India will soon call for tenders to prospective contractors the work on all phases together.

    The Road Mentioned is the Existing NH4, Not the new Expressway, which cuts thru Malur and Bangarpet V Kota. The assumption of the video is wrong

    For this project central govt has allotted 17930 cr for land acquisition.. Special land acquisition. Department officers looted money from farmers for approving that money.. They had fixed a price based on money receiving.. I'm not talking without proof.. Our land also has been acquired we also paid 3 lakhs or else they will not move the file.. We alone can't fight against them.. Whatever may be govt officers are well settled in life from this project.. This is a boon project to them.. Looted as much money as they want..

    Farmers are always exploited when it comes to acquisition. They are paid peanuts and later the same land is allotted or sold at enormous prices - whether it’s for roads or SEZs . Actually they shud be given privileges after the land is developed. Farmers are exploited everywhere & possibly everyone.

      later its sold at enormous price because road is built there. And farmers get more price than needed every time. This need to be changed and land reforms must come if we want to grow.
      If you want to stop Farmer exploitation see its root cause like middle man and their inability to sell crops directly to customer addressed in recent agri reforms 2020.

      @@swakal8868 not exactly. Farmers are mostly forced to surrender out of their choice & they never get excess price . In most cases as per reg’ value only - whereas the market price will be more . Y shouldn’t they be made partners & get their share
      even after establishment if it’s some minimum percentage . People who lose land will know the pain because they r losing their only source . I agree with the other aspects of developing a system where a farmer sells directly to the consumer by passing the middle men . A farmer who tools for an entire year gets 20 rs fr a kilo of mangoes whereas it’s sold at over 200 rs in a supermarket fr a week’s investment ... how unfair

Of course on paper they get 3 times market rates but we all know that market rates set by govt and the cuts to middlemen. The land appreciates and by then only politcos own land around the Highways. Story of Full India

    Unnecessary projects
    Even you go within 1 HR to Chennai border or Bangalore border
    But go inside city /bus stand will take more hours
