All great singers are unique in their interpretation and voice. Each brings what they can to the table. In this case, Lucy brings an amazing tribute for us to hear. I am a huge Lucy fan and have run out of superlatives to describe how talented and gifted Lucy is. Lucy also works hard and puts everything she's got into her songs. For me, Lucy is the best. This performance is nearly two years old. You should take a listen to where she’s at vocally now. She just released her version of “The Greatest Love of All” last week.
Mr. King, Lucy got you like most of the other reactors. In first line/verse I saw a couple of smiles that showed your initial reaction, and then, out came "WOW!" Surprisingly Lucy can get that WOW almost right at the beginning. She has amazing breath control along with her excellent voice and clear pronunciation of the lyrics. Her vibrato sends chills up my spine (and sometimes cloudy eyes). The " I " at the very end really shows her vibrato and perfect pitch; long note (no drift), even and symmetrical vibrato, then into the very end of the " I " (still right on key). I'm definitely a fan.

Lucy has taken Eva’s version and, in my opinion, took it up a notch (or 2 - or 3). Lucy has such a range that I don’t think there is anything, any genre that she can’t master. You are right she has very rich low notes and she is crystal clear with her high notes. Her enunciation is also so clear that every word is understandable, and, unless you are not familiar with the song, you don’t need the subtitles. I was focused on her vibrato the whole time, very smooth and natural sounding, definitely not overdone. If you haven't done any duets with her little sister yet, I recommend "You Raise Me Up".
There is a new video out called " SMILE". sung by Lucy, Martha and their mother Louise that is well worth reacting to as this shows where the musical talent comes from, and they sound great together.
Wilbur, agree with you on just the most beautiful and wide ranging voice ever! True, Eva has a very pretty, very emotional voice as well, but not the vibrato, range, projection that Lucy has! Yeah, this is a once in a lifetime voice and talent with Lucy and Lucy & Martha duets

@@wilburfinnigan2142 There's not a bigger Lucy fan than me ; however you obviously haven't listened to much of Eva because she is the most versatile singer I've ever heard and the quality of her voice is unmatched and the passion and emotion with which she sings is in a League By Itself - Listening to them back to back there is an obvious difference in Eva's favor - Her range , tone , and breath control were otherworldly so I don't know how more technical a singer can be - They both covered At Last and Over The Rainbow and there simply is no comparison in the Quality of both

You can’t change somebody’s reaction to music by arguing with them. Personally, I think Lucy Thomas has the most beautiful singing voice I have ever heard. But it is perfectly reasonable for someone else to have a very different opinion and they are entitled to it. Be happy that we can enjoy her and don’t fuss about other people’s musical taste.
this comparing is stupid , however whilst this girl is a beautiful singer , Eva Cassidys is so tender and emotional , i didnt see anyone commenting that Lucys version made them cry i certainly didnt whereas Eva's gets me everytime
