Fieldsports Channel wish they will be more control burns in the States, now... here in Arkansas, the grass and brush is tall enough to cause a problem when they dry out.
An excellent piece of filming...... You do not realise or appreciate how much work, by so many people, goes on in the background to run an estate shoot....... Once again ....Really well done.
What a beautiful film! Great episode, happy birthday fieldsport Britain! I can personally say I've watched every single episode and enjoyed every single one!
A fantastic film; I'm not a grouse shooter myself, but really enjoyed being shown what has to happen to manage a moor, as well as the benefits to conservation and the environment that such management brings.
oh men this is by the moste the beautiful hunting film i ever seen in a verry long time thanks for such a passion that you take for making this posibel and let us enjoy for it. i ame spaekless thanks Damien from belgium
Happy Birthday Fieldsports Channel. I never miss an episode and look forward to watch through my e-mail every Wednesday. Thanks Charlie Jacoby and to all the team. Many best regards from Malta.
Top notch in every way. I live in Virginia but have always dreamed of shooting there. Maybe one day, but until then I'll continue to enjoy your show and wish. I also enjoyed the management insight. I keep pheasant for family and friends and the difference in the amount of various wildlife that also benefits and is present in much larger numbers is amazing as compared to when I did not do it. Love you guys!
Liked the piece about Scotland, the Moors and especially about the Grouse although my heart ached while doing so as our shoot was cancelled due to low numbers of grouse because of bad weather during their breeding season. But as they say there is always hope for a better situation next year. Well Done David and the rest
Excellent film presented in a well balanced and informative manner. This class of work should be part of the schools curriculum to help open children's eyes to the truth before the lies that abound become indoctrinated. Thank you for the huge effort you all put in to bringing us this quality viewing. Good luck for the future from damp-ish Ireland!
Great show guys, the film of the moor was brilliant,,, In Yer Face Packham ,, The truth is out there,,, Happy 7th Birthday Fieldsports Britain ,,, and long may you continue,,
I love George Digweed ,absolute hero, and a true Englishman ... Not a lot of them around nowadays,an amazing ambassador/character and general representation of shooting,of course there are other areas of shooting with plenty of other respectable faces but George will always hold the top spot for me
Bloody excellent effort lads. Really enjoyed that, all aspects of it. Just a shame we are lacking the Grouse down here in Northern Victoria Oz, still good to see Blighty doing well. ATB Moose Down Under.
Let people that live in the countryside and make their livelihoods from the countryside live in it and get on with their lives. Let the people who don't, who live in the city and don't have anything better to do than mess up other people's lives shut up and leave these people alone.
I live in the countryside and always have done. I would like future generations to enjoy the countryside as much as I do. I support conservation and apprise grouse shooting as it is unsustainable. This video is NOT a balanced picture. But of course it wouldn't be from the field sports crew.
+Chantelle Rosebud Oh, I see. Now I understand. But you'll have to help me out now with why you think it's "unsustainable". It's been going on for hundreds of years. I don't see how that's an unsustainable practice? What is it you mean by "unsustainable"?
Fossil fuel use has also been going on for hundreds of years, and is acknowledged to be unsustainable. Grouse shooting uses increasingly intensive land management practices, damaging gases released into the air when burning heather, use of lead shots, raptor persecution, including highly endangered hen harriers... I could go on... Or shall I move on to the 'unethical' factors?
Great video and looks like a great day. As an American when I pheasant shoot its more of a personal event or maybe up to 4 people with dogs . No driver. we have limits, depending on state, of 2 to 5 birds. Looks like a lot of birds are shoot on these hunts. what happneds to them. Are they cleaned and given to the shoots? The driver? sold by the estate? what is the common practice.
As a falconer and x game keeper I'm fortunate to see and understand the massive importance of managing a moor for the Raptors and game in a symbiotic relationship and moor importance to every red listed bird that would not be there if thay didn't have a safe haven to bring there brood up this is a national treasure don't lison to the rspb thay can only dream to to have 0.5 % of the same results thay are a business I've rehabilitated more Raptors as as many British falconers club members have !!!! If you phone them thay will pass it on !! Just do it and see how true this is there not interested its left to kind hearted falconers to step up unpaid
Great video. Educational, I hadn't realised just how many people were required to run the moor. Thanks for that. Please please stop that dramatic 90 degree when doing the otherwise excellent news, it's absurd. Otherwise keep up the good work. Thank you.
Is it true that using 21grms 6s for crows, pigeons, pheasants, partridge is the best for 28 bore because it apparently shoots faster with a lighter and smaller gram cartridge?
7:55 Alternatives raised. 8:10 Commercial forestry - would see a massive increase of animal population of all types. The scenery would be incredibly beautiful and so much more than a barren scorched land without a single tree, deer or fox in sight. 8:21 Sheep farming - agreed 8:30 Do no nothing - at least more natural predators would be around and they'd always be balance, there always was before man came along.
Why are you allowed to burn heather, when there is a ban on burning straw for the sound reason of air Quality. Why are you allowed to shoot thousands of Mountain hares, and throw them in stink pits.
4 years on and still brilliant. 👏🏻👏🏻 programmes like this should be shown on mainstream TV
There are so so many people that need to watch and learn about grouse moor management !!!
This needs to be shown to mainstream media, not enough people see the truth!!! Good work!
Sam Sawyer They would be called butchers and thrill killers
Superb deserves mainstream tv so much anti disinformation out there congrats on 7 years.
Great watching, that Scottish voice over was so chilling gave the whole peice a brilliant feel

A lovely film that explains all the thought and hard work that goes into protecting the Moors and managing the Wildlife so well.!!!!
An excellent piece of filming...... You do not realise or appreciate how much work, by so many people, goes on in the background to run an estate shoot.......
Once again ....Really well done.

lovely
Well done lads shooter from irl.
Can't wait to get my licenses! And shoot some game with a shotgun keep up the informative videos .👍🏻
You do know the cost of grouse shooting surely
"124 and 1/2 you say?"
"yes, that one managed to get a bit close before I pulled the trigger..."
124 1/2 "brace"... 2 birds in a brace... So that's 249 birds. (124x2=248 birds+1 bird=249 birds total).
My dad had a shooting lesson of George digweed
Q lugares incríveis

Bonza!
GOOD
2 for ! Shot there
3:51 the heather grows to a length and "breaks over" and gets to the stage where there's no nutritional value?
Can anyone give any evidence for this?
Hunts for ultra rich only. What would a shoot like that cost ??
Top quality stuff, put that in your pipe and smoke it Packham!
Sorry but why are they burning fields at the beggining of the video ?
+Thomas VALENTIN Promotes regrowth of heather which the grouse eat
Fieldsports Channel oooh alright !! Thanks for answering
I would love to see my dogs work those birds......
👍👍
