  • We try cutting a 24 foot long beam for the top of our sawmill shed on our Woodland mills HM122 sawmill with a bed that is a little over 16 feet long. It can be done, but it’s not easy!
    Be sure and check out our log cabin build videos also! Our cabin is available to rent through Airbnb. The link is : www.airbnb.com...

      Hi Sandra. Yes, even after all these years of working together, we still look at problems from different perspectives. Sometimes that can be good, sometimes not😂🤣 But for sure, Lance never minds a reminder to go fishing😁

      Thanks! We are grateful that we still can work hard, we both have had back surgery years ago. So we appreciate having fairly good health now. We know a lot of people have to deal with chronic problems. 😊👍

    I have always wondered if it was possible and now I know. I am setting up a HM130 and we have some over length logs to mill for the mill shed. Many thanks your efforts for us who follow. Wales , UK.

      Hi James! Yes, we didn’t get to go much last year. It’s about time for the crappie and white bass to start spawning, so we are going to try to get in a little fishing whenever we get a chance. Hope you enjoy your weekend!😊👍

    Howdy y’all- that’s a bit tricky but you got it done. I watched a guy in Texas cut a 32’ beam on his 122. Actually, he cut three of those beams. I cut two 22’ beams for my mill. One of the logs was too much for the tractor so I had to slab off two sides with my 394 husky to get rid of some of the weight. Have a great week. God bless

    • @natureartgirl
      @natureartgirl  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Wow! A 32 foot would really be challenging! This one was about all I want to tackle!😂 That’s a good idea to take some weight off by slabbing some first! This one was really heavy since it was pretty freshly cut. Hope your mill shed is coming along good. We have been out of town for a while so haven’t checked…do you have new video out yet? Hope you have a good spring! Take care!😊👍👍

      @TheBeardedCarpenter ปีที่แล้ว

      @@natureartgirl We’re going to brace the posts today. We’ve had so much rain it has really hampered any progress. The shed will have a storage/tool-blade room and a place for my old tractor. The whole shed will be 47’ long and 12’ wide. Blessings

We thought we'd take a break and see all the projects you're diving into. Stay busy! 😂 Take care & God Bless!!!

      Thank you! Glad your cabins are going good. You must really be working!! We haven’t done too many projects lately. Just trying to catch up on all the things that we neglected while we were building the cabin last year. I’m sure you can relate 😂😂👍Take care, and don’t work too hard.

    Well done!!
    To be honest I would've thought about moving the log backwards on the rails when the saw comes to an end .. but that would've meant building two carts or a sort of moving bed under the log .. and it would probably have been a more complicated, time consuming and head scratching process than your solution :))

    your last bunk by the tow coupler move it 6'' and re drill holes then when you cut the log lays flat when the log is turned

  • @Dutch779
    @Dutch779 ปีที่แล้ว

    Now we could have just debark the log and left it round and use it like it was.😊

    • @natureartgirl
      @natureartgirl  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, you could do that. Just cut the notches differently! 👍

      EZ-Hauler 2500. It is made for setting poles. It has an auger too. But it is pretty old and I don’t know if they make them anymore. 👍

    just an idea i have a friend that has the same mill and he maid an 8ft extention for his mill that comes off when he does not need it maybe something like that would work for you

    • @natureartgirl
      @natureartgirl  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi! Yes, this mill comes with a bed that will cut 10’ and we bought a bed extension at the same time that allows you to cut a little over 16’ lumber. That’s really about the longest we would normally need. But the problem is whatever length your mill bed is, you need several feet longer for the main support beam on your sawmill shed😂😂So, hopefully this is a one time project
