Event horizon telescope has taken yet another picture of a black hole, this time at the center of Milky Way galaxy. How does Sagittarius A* compare to M87* in the Messier 87 galaxy?
@@AmedesTheKing you’re right it’s not.. but they’re correct. If it takes light itself 55 million years to travel, that means that the light and changes it has dont reach us until 55 million years. We see the sun 8 minutes in the past too, because that’s how long it takes light to travel.
@@dhada26 yes but 1 light year is how far light can move in a year. Looking at something 55 million light years away means that you’re looking at what it looked like 55 million years ago.
It also depends on the *size of the object.* That why images of planets in the solar system are *not as clear as images of galaxies millions of light years away.*
they aren't also black holes are objects that rip space time fabric infinitly that creates a wrap effect also causing time to be slower or faster it basically screws up time and they are born after a gigantic massive star explodes and blackholes have extreme density like a blackhole the size of an atom could have the mass of mount everest and if it was the size of a chair it would have more mass than the entire earth i think
M87's picture is from 55 million years ago.
(That means we see it 55 million years ago)
Lightyear isnt equal a year
1 lightyear is equivalent to nearly 6 trillion miles

Relative size compared to what?! For Sgr A* it's like looking for a doughnut on the Moon's surface. Please add complete information.
Sgr A compared to M87 is like comparing a donut with a stadium
From the surface of earth, me and M87 look around the same size

Funfact - Sagittarius A is closer than M87 black hole, But photo of M87 is clear than Sagittarius A*
