I'm going to take a scientific approach, while diving into tangents about what "trillion" means, physics thought experiments, and more! Want to know who will win? The answer won't surprise you!

Lions are cats and cats have 9 lives. So this lion would have 9 trillion lives which would allow him to last even longer.
Nice. Keep the plan simple.

You're forgetting, the lions also are together, and the sun is all alone, giving it a huge hit to its defence due to depression.
Shouldn't the lions just wait then for the sun to commit suicide?

"There's not too much data about chucking things into the sun."
maybe because the evidence already chucked to the sun, duh
It's actually surprisingly difficult to plunge things into the sun. Because any object launched from earth carries on the momentum from the Earth's orbital velocity. 30 KM/s or 67,000 miles per hour. In order for an object to fall into the sun you have to cancel out this orbital velocity. Which takes a lot of fuel and energy, infact it's far easier to make an object leave the solar system than it is to plunge it into the sun. I think how one satellite got close to the sun was performing gravitational sling shot orbits around Jupiter and the Sun to slowly cancel out the velocity over several years before finally making an approach to the sun. This was just to get into a near sun orbit tho, and not to fall into the sun.
