I hit an antelope In my 2007 Honda Accord ex, the radiator core support was in need of replacement. This video gave me the info I needed to do the work with a friend and it went very well. Thank you for posting.
Can you tell me the tool he use to shave off those screws to remove also what did he use after to replace also can a DIY dad find all these tools in harbor freigh?
@@rickybaez2970how did it go? I’m having the same issue I thought everything was bolted on. But I don’t think normal person can do this without those special tool
I'm going to have to do this exact thing on my 300zx and I had no idea how I was going to approach it until I saw this video. Thanks, much appreciated!
Great job! Loved to see you work! Mine is done by a person in the most unprofessional way ever. He has cut the radiator frame with sharp edges and hasn’t painted it to the color of the car and has done dirty welding. Took 2 grands and cried that it was so difficult to put on the sidings and bla bla . Now I see that with all that cutting and bad welding how would it fit easily. Crap work. I would have done it better myself. Regret taking to him.
What's the typical cost of this job if you were to send this to a shop? I just got a 2000 Celica and want to know if it is worth to save or just buy a new shell
Is there a way to replace a Radiator Support - Upper Tie Bar on a 2009 Pontiac G6 Sedan 2.4 L? Mines got punched in the eye where the Driver headlight assembly is. Like a pinch and i either need to replace or do a DIY fix so that i can replace the hood and drv headlight assembly.
How do you know what the cross measurements are to be. I am trying to replace my grandmas 2009 Acura TL because she hit a deer and the way home. Now I got it all up there and all fits good. Just have not spot welded it yet due to not knowing the measurements.
This is really helpful but damn I;m dizzy after watching it! 🤣What is the measurement across the engine bay called? I may need to fix my radiator support myself and can make something as a one-time crude substitute for that tool, but I need the spec for my S2000.
I got ducked bought a car that was in a hit back in 2004 the car was a year old it’s a mustang gt convert, and it was in a minor hit for 2000 claim, and all they did was bend it back in shape I could not tell till now year later, summer car only the hood is higher one side slight, plus the diver side fender also is or aligned properly I put wide wheels and the driver side the wheel sticks past the fender almost 1/4 of a inch maybe a bit less, but noticeable to me so I’m asking is it worth the time and efforts to try to have it replaced parts are very hard to find but I have a parts car that’s mint. Lemme know what you think bro
What did you do to remove the old spot welds? Didnt look like you cut thru it cos you hammered it off.. how did he spot welds release, cos looked soo much simpler than drilling them out
Well if you are replacing a radiator support you most likely are going to replace the radiator, a/c condenser, new coolant, freon, bumper, crash bar, sensors, headlights, hood, maybe the power steering/transmission fluid lines. It ain't cheap basically lol
That would be ok if you were fixing your own car at home, but that shit doesn't fly when doing insurance jobs in a body shop, to much liability and vehicle need to be repaired back to prevent accident condition.
Also side not where the core support attaches to the frame rails unibody car you can tell the shit ass job starting to get some rust and you can tell then hammered and pulled it ad straight as they could get. And I don’t like it it’s a old car, but she ain’t just a old car to me gorgeous car that I have over 50k of performance parts for. Also I thinking threw out my geometry on the suspension even tho alignment passes, but was told it’s bad body work period

Love watching how the pros do it the right way ! Excellent
Me too, but a body shop estimated 61% more than I paid for the car 7 months ago for a job doing this, so I will be figuring out something else! :D

Good job on this bro!! The way it should be done, but I’m guessing was not worried about fender alignment at all

What did those X measurements measure after you pulled it?
What's the typical cost of this job if you were to send this to a shop? I just got a 2000 Celica and want to know if it is worth to save or just buy a new shell
What do you call the measuring tool you used to measure the X-points?
I’m asking the same

How do I know if I need a new rad support. It’s just slightly pushed in. I don’t have a pull shop.

Whats the estimate for that job and lets say fender replacement on both sides?

Dude, where is your shop? I need an Altima done.
Are you in florida?
Thanks for the video! What brand of radiator support did you use?
Why use the sealant?
You ever worked on a 2016-2021 radiator support? Does it need to be spot weld or its bolt on? Its mostly composite material.
what are those x measurments supposed to be?

belt sander saves time
What kind of welding machine did you used?
That’s a 2.0 I think it’s welded. But in the 1.5 the radiator support is just bolted on….
What’s the tool you’re using to grind the spot welds called?
Is a belt sander im a diy dad im doing my own collision repair ao far i gather enough info i think

400
Love your work
I need something like this done to my vehicle Maryland
😂ok glove didn't fit. Glade your did.....😂😂nice work
Good overview of the process. Next time maybe add a little more commentary about some of the things you do...for the less experienced home mechanic.
De donde eres
How much does this typically cost someone if it's just this
They charge around 8 hours for this , so anywhere from 400-800
As that tool you used for alignment
How much would it be to do a job like this approximately?
They be taxing like 4 bands cause of insurance lol
How much for Honda Pilot
How much does a repair like this cost usually?
I would like to know?

@@bryanlexus6090 I’m doing all of this now for my LS400
You mean your painter is not going to wine not being able to cut that in first?
Why replace it? Just bend it back and leave it if it's not structural.
Multiple things mount to it, coolers, cover, lights etc.
That would be ok if you were fixing your own car at home, but that shit doesn't fly when doing insurance jobs in a body shop, to much liability and vehicle need to be repaired back to prevent accident condition.
Anybody knows what the measurement piece in minute 1:31 he is using is called? I would much appreciate it
Tram gauge
