  • This is my first ever canopy fitout and from searching TH-cam extensively, there didn't seem to be to many vids on the subject.
I don't really have any experience in this, however I've got more than enough experience in wood working and building to tackle the project.
If like me, this may just be enough to inspire you to do it your self and at the very least maybe help in your decision process.

Quick tip for anyone planning on Northern or Far Northern Queensland trips.
Seal the ply completely. Tung oil, Flooring finish, estapol, etc.
Carpet (if you must) after sealing. Wait for seal to dry completely.
Edit; wouldn't hurt to paint the 2×4's either, especially the ends.

Nice. Very clean and tidy. I’ll be doing much the same

Leaks like a siv , double sided tape comes in larger sizes and also strips that are one side adhesive also for seal protection purposes

I once used balsa wood to seal , the right texture matters

    Hi
    Just come across yr video.
I planned my canopy for 6months put a false floor in and 4months later removed it later due to realising it didn’t suit my needs.
    Cheers

nice vid, good clear photos. but wow that music....
you could have added some lift up panels to make a little bit of storage under the floor board if you wanted to.

Thanks for the comment, and yea, you make a great point. But I'm very new to this canopy build stuff. Live and learn, eh. :)

How much weight did this add altogether.

I got mine from Bunnings, but I'm sure there would be many places that stock it. Good luck

Nice job, looks good mate. I dont know if it makes much difference or not, but if you run the flooring carpet from side to side rather than front to back, would that make it easier for blowing out sand etc?
