This theme fits Palpatine so perfectly. His dark mystique, his cunning, his unquenchable depth of knowledge of the dark side and his lust for power, his mocking disdain for the Jedi, the way he absolutely revels in his confrontations with his opponents. He's so deliciously sinister. He defines the Sith.
Thank you. Literally thank you. I agree wholeheartedly. Palpatine/Darth Sidious is one of the greatest characters the entirety of Star Wars has ever produced. The music and actor help a lot also, one can't really imagine me saying that without all three people (Lucas included) being involved. George Lucas, Ian McDiarmid, and John Williams bring the story to life. Especially Ian...idk how Palpatine could possibly have been better without him.
@@ghostsade3 Agreed, McDiarmid did an excellent job the way he did Sidious’ laugh and the way he gets so enveloped in his character with moments like revealing himself to Anakin as the sith lord, tempting him to give in to the dark side. I love all of the SW theory surrounding him. Palpatine is by far my favorite character.
Even though it was stupid and not well explained at all, you gotta admit you were at least a bit excited when you first found out Palpatine was gonna be in Episode 9
@Worcestershire Sauce I think the jedi has good intentions. The jedi and sith are both slaves to it.
What scares me about this scene...is how relaxing it is. You would think that this talk about darkness would be done in a dark and lifeless place where you start feeling the creepiness, but in reality it is presented in this relaxing place with mesmerizing images, so you don't sense there is something wrong. Well, that's precisely how Anakin was dragged into the dark side.
Yes its really relaxing, and something else too which I cant figure out yet. I know that music and voices that are relaxing in this way trigger an ASMR effect, there are youtube channels that focus on trying to trigger ASMR in different ways using whispering, meditation music, rain, candles, tapping and scratching and anything they think that could trigger that same feeling.
