THE MOST INTERSTING VIDEO EVAH! LOVE the way you "treat" the pics in this video, "The Wavey" effect you use is so very cool, I HOPE you will do more videos like this and in the same "vein" as today's topics? Jung deserves a lot of credit for his work on synchronicity but.... " He has been in India, and there was a man - a man the like of whom happens only once in a while. Maharshi Raman was alive. And wherever Jung went in India, almost everywhere people suggested to him, “Why are you wasting your time here and there, going to Varanasi and Bombay? Why don’t you go to Maharshi Raman?” People knew that he is a great psychoanalyst, world-famous. “You should go to Maharshi Raman, who has gone beyond the mind. Sitting by his side you may have a few glimpses. You may come away a totally changed person.” But Jung avoided him, he did not go there. On the contrary, back home he started writing against Eastern mysticism. And Jung started talking this nonsense in self-defense. He said, “That’s why I avoided Maharshi Raman, because Eastern methods are not suitable to us. The West needs its own yoga, the West needs its own meditations.” What difference can there be in being aware? Whether you are in the East or in the West, awareness will be the same - and that is the essential core of meditation. They are great interpreters of dreams… the whole world of the psychoanalyst is the world of dreams. And as far as the enlightened person is concerned, for him the whole world is nothing but a dream. For the psychoanalyst, dreams are his whole world, and for the enlightened person the whole world is nothing but a dream."
I dunno about Jung having to defend himself from nonsense…his work speaks for itself. From his commentaries on the Tibetan Book of the Dead or the Secret of the Golden Flower to the l Ching or his Seven Sermons to the Dead at the end of his Memories Dreams and Reflections… I still pick up his books from the Bollingen collection and his Man and his Symbols..ETAL… I think he was saying that Asian mysteries are not the same as Western thought processes. The only thing I’ve ever encountered in his work in the last fifty years regarding prejudice is a dislike of ignorance. The Hindus also regard ignorance as the greatest sin.
"I observed many synchronicity events for a week while on a 30 day fast. I started noticing them around day 12. That's when I started noticing staff that, otherwise, I do not notice." Here - fixed it for you.

No one knows only Gnows…. Ya gnow?
“Psychoid”. Did I spell that right? Ego grappling with existence of Spirit which can never be quantified nor explained with total satisfaction. Just have to live it which can be scary for people who are highly rational. Interesting though, could be a middle ground between heaven and earth. My late father was a Master Practitioner in the Church of Religious Science (NOT to be confused with Scientology!), Law of Attraction. He’d be very interested in this concept. Also, though you blew it off, Synastry has some very helpful features for potential couples that shouldn’t be overlooked. It is as ancient as Yin/Yang. JLo called off her first marriage to Ben A. because her Swami advised that they were an inauspicious match at that time but the right time did evidently come. Nice video. 🤓
Causality is necessary for repeatability. Validation through multiple, independent repeatability is necessary to complete the scientific method. Non-repeatability does not invalidate parapsychological events, any more than lightening never striking the same place twice, invalidates lighting. It does adequately explain why no one has claimed the James Randy prize. They may never do so...intentionally.
Lightening always happens under the same conditions by the same causes. The place in which the phenomenon happens is irrelevant if the cause is always the same, therefore you are wrong.
Interesting video so far, but I do take issue with the way you define synchronicity at the beginning (which is immediately undermined by your explanation of how Jung believed it worked), unless I’m misreading the way you worded it (with emphasis on the distinction between subjectivity & objectivity). The way you define it at the beginning sounds like you’re describing something like apophenia- a delusional perception of connection or pattern where there actually objectively isn’t one (your brain/mind is perceiving a pattern/connection in random noise, but it doesn’t actually exist (which is why this is a symptom of pathology, a disordered perception). Whereas, the whole point of synchronicity is that, even though one can’t point to or easily understand an exoteric, obvious physically causal process to explain how the two occurrences are causally connected, the coincidence of these occurrences is so meaningful, & so unlikely (especially taken in the context of numerous other potentially related, potentially just as unlikely synchronicities that the observer has experienced, perhaps in rapid succession or perhaps over their lifetime) that at a certain point it becomes more implausible to chalk them all up to total coincidence by random chance, & instead the simpler, more plausible explanation becomes that there IS some kind of higher order &/or some more subtle principle at work which explains how they really ARE connected. With true synchronicity (at least as far as Jung, & myself, & others who have experienced them extensively enough to take the phenomenon serious have been able to conclude), there really does seem to be an ordered pattern/meaning/significance, & a connection between these seemingly causally disconnected events/occurrences, & (either individually or cumulatively, in the context of other synchronicities) it seems too implausibly unlikely- even coming from a skeptical perspective- that these meaningful &/or highly unlikely correlated “coincidences” (especially in cases where they ARE meaningful, where they do seem to carry information or significance to the life of the person experiencing them) were actually all just random chance… Because if each of them has a likelihood on the order of, you know… 100,000:1, or 1,000,000:1, or 1,000,000,000:1 odds of occurring, & you experience not just 1 or 2 of these profoundly unlikely & meaningful coincidences, but numerous of them- in some cases a pretty constant stream of them- then the odds of ALL of them happening… Especially within the span of your one human lifetime, which is really a blink in the eye of cosmic or geological time, or even packed into an even smaller window within your life… Then the odds become so astronomical… It really does kind of beggar belief that you just happen to be that one-in-who-knows-how-many-trillions who would experience so many such unlikely coincidences (made even more unlikely if they actually do communicate some kind of meaning of profundity/significance to you… At which point, even if you think they were just coincidences (as far as causality is concerned), it still seems suggestive that there’s a reason you were born as the person who would be confronted with these unlikely experiences & not any of the trillions of people who wouldn’t, so it still raises serious questions about the nature of reality either way, unless you insist on assuming that no matter how unlikely it all is, you did just happen to be that person… But even then, given how unlikely many of these synchronicities are, the idea that as many people would experience their own (many of them absurdly unlikely) still breaks the odds; I can’t see a way of explaining it without accepting that there’s something going on here besides random chance; random meaningless particle collisions somehow producing meaning & coincidence on a scale & rate of frequency far beyond what statistically seems possible. Based on my own experiences & those of the people around me, I tend to believe anyone can become (or enter a state of consciousness where they temporarily are) aware of synchronicity- that they happen all around us all the time, because there really is just a higher order to the unfolding of the cosmos, & when we experience synchronicity, it’s us becoming conscious of a momentary glimpse of that higher order, which is usually hidden behind the veil of what appears from our usual perspective to be “normal,” “common sensual” physical causality. But common sense, what seems normal or reasonable to us, has consistently revealed itself to be a very weak & inadequate heuristic if our goal is to actually arrive anywhere near the truth; going off common sense & what subjectively seems to be reasonable based on day-to-day experience, we would’ve never discovered relativity, or quantum mechanics, or massless particles, phases of matter like the Bose-Einstein condensate, information theory, the possibility of extra dimensions, or the “block universe” conception of time… Reality is far more splendid, fantastical, elegant, complex, & filled with a seemingly endless, kaleidoscopic variety of novel phenomena (& those are just the ones we’re relatively scientifically confident about) than our very conservative, “common sense” assumptions have ever been able to accommodate or predict. Reason, dialectical logic, empirical evidence- these are far more powerful cognitive tools, more reliable means, for arriving at defensible conclusions about what is real & true. And those are the lines of inquiry which, in confluence with my own experiences & how hard to dismiss they are [knowing that I can trust myself to be wary of & account for the possibility of apophenia, knowing I maintain skepticism & don’t uncritically take subjective experiences at face value], lead me to have a very hard time dismissing the validity of synchronicity… Even if some less skeptical folks do seem biased in how eager to believe they are, how badly they want synchronicities to happen to them, to where they just call it a “synchronicity” every time a clock shows 11:11 or 3:33 or whatever… That can be explained by bias (you notice & remember when every digit is the same, but you think nothing of it the other 80% of the time when you look & it’s just a random time) & coincidence… The fact that people post facto apply meaning to some numbers doesn’t mean that every time you happen to look at the clock & it reads that number, it’s a synchronicity… Certainly not one you can really discern from coincidence. I hold a pretty high bar for what I count as one in my own life, because I never want to delude myself or succumb to elevating instances of apophenia to some kind of profound truth (at that point, you’re concerning my near schizophrenic sorts of delusions, & I think anyone interested in these subjects, in psychedelics, spirituality/mysticism, alternative ontological models, etc., should always be conscious of that (it’s why skepticism is so important)… But I’ve still experienced a lot of synchronicities which I simply CANNOT dismiss as bias or apophenia or plausibly a product of random chance. So it is what it is. I critically question it to stay grounded, but I also revel in the mystery & beauty & try to keep my perception open, to wrap my head around the meaning when it presents itself. I believe that’s a very defensible & sensible position.
The psychotic drowns in the same waters in which the mystic swims with delight. Joseph Campbell Discernment- The act or process of exhibiting keen insight and good judgment. It's easy to get caught up emotionally when the synchronicity happens multiple times. The trick is to figure out how to use the perception of synchronicity in a meaningful way. Hardcore experiments into this subject. Inside the Princeton Engineering Anomalies Research lab with Brenda Dunne th-cam.com/video/yMb4j5tHIic/w-d-xo.html The most common form of apophenia is known as the “gambler’s fallacy,” where gamblers believe they’ve discovered patterns from random bits of information. It's a billion dollar industry.
You may have misheard me. I didn't imply that it was delusional, just acausal. The distinction between objectivity and subjectivity is important, because Jung felt (and I agree) that there was a more fundamental reality beyond these two. Synchronicities occur because the subject and object are united at a deeper level.
Synchronicity is a simple enough term to understand and technically it is simply 2 or more things in occurring in time with each other..... magic in the sense that it is being discussed here is reality manipulation through will or intention combine with a clear & strong idea of effect you want to stamp into the universe and the more influence or reality you want the more precise & determined the the shaping of the argument for the idea needs to be.
Precognition and synchronicity go hand in had in some way, but I still can't figure out how this works. I mean, is precognition events that will happen or events that have been pushed by synchronicity too happen? If the latter then the future can be changed. If the first then the future can not be changed.
Synchronicity: "Carl Jung's most famous case of synchronicity in psychotherapy was with a woman patient who recited a dream in which she was given a golden scarab. While she was relating the dream, Jung heard something tapping at the window from outside. When he opened the window, he caught a scarab beetle mid-air, whose gold-green color closely resembled that of a golden scarab." Precognition: To see the beetle tapping on the window before it happens.
@@LotusShaman ... Unfortunately, it’s not that simple - wish it was. … If Jung told the lady about the beetle during or after the incident then it could have been subconscious precognition on the patient’s part. If Jung didn’t tell her then it could have been precognition picked up subconsciously clairvoyantly (precognition being clairvoyance of the future in this case). On the other hand, it could be a form of manifestation. In psi research, “remote viewers” (clairvoyants) can pick up info about the past, present, or future. However, they’re generally not 100 percent accurate so they may, or may not, only be sensing a “probable future”, and, if so, the future can be changed. On top of this, the events in the future may be psychically “pushed” to happen but no guaranteeing they will happen (manifestation effect). You can think of the Universe being an information system where information can be obtained from it (clairvoyance) and information can be put into it thus affecting things and events (manifestation) which would cover all psi phenomena found in the official research and personal experience.
@@mindofnous ... Here’s an example of what just happened to me a few hours ago. ….... I was watching a movie I hadn’t seen before. Suddenly, I decided to pause it and get some chocolate chip cookies I had around. I did this and continued playing the movie. Just as I was eating the cookies someone in the movie offered a person some chocolate chip cookies. That person began eating them the very moment I was eating my cookies. The things is, was this a synchronicity or did I get the cookies because I subconsciously got a precognitive impression which made me think of eating my cookies?
God is the Cause. We are God's Effect. Regardless, old bro offered us a lot. He def raised our awareness; added concepts to our current vernacular that stretched our brains far enough to imagine 'more'. I bet he'd be having a field day with quantum mechanics, were he still here.
I know some people really enjoy Carl Jung and anything he had written in his life, but for example stuff such as described in this video is really not helpful at all because if you try to understand what is actually being said, and then try to explain what it means, you won't be able to. These guesses about the "collective unconscious" he is mostly known for, and in this case also an attempt to explain what "magic, divination, astrology, and telepathy" and "synchronicity" are is just unverifiable and nonreproducible in any way. So, this stuff is kind of useless. And the unfortunate effect of such writing is that people who are actually ignorant about what is scientific, and what is pseudoscience will use the fact that Carl Jung wrote about it to justify their belief that stuff like magic and telepathy are actually real. The fact is they aren't. Many people from different countries, and different times in history tried to prove that there was something real behind these alleged phenomena and failed to prove or reproduce any of it.
There may well be some truth to this, but the fact remains that Jung was an objective thinker, and he regarded his discovery of the archetypes as empirical - taken from research of thousands of patients throughout his life. His concepts also provide rationalistic interpretations of religious stories, as psychological phenomena rather than supernatural. Nevertheless, I think sometimes he does step a little too close to "woo", and this essay is an example of that. Synchronicity is definitely a useful concept when it's interpreted as a consequence of psychophysical parallelism, of the kind espoused by Leibniz. Jung is quite clear that it refers to an *acausal* correlation, so there is not actually any mental causation on physical events going on. It explains why magic can appear real, but not that it is literally real in the usual sense. This essay was published alongside an essay on the same topic by Wolfgang Pauli, and Pauli's does read a lot more like you would expect from a physicist. Together, they compensate for each others weaknesses. Jung's insights are arguably unmatched in the history of esoterica, while Pauli is extremely grounded and level-headed - they called him the "conscience of physics" in the physics community.
That’s your opinion. If you don’t believe in something your brain will only seek to prove that right. Try it the other way round and see if you are open to changing your perception

From his commentaries on the Tibetan Book of the Dead or the Secret of the Golden Flower to the l Ching or his Seven Sermons to the Dead at the end of his Memories Dreams and Reflections… I still pick up his books from the Bollingen collection and his Man and his Symbols..ETAL…
I think he was saying that Asian mysteries are not the same as Western thought processes.

I had many synchronicity events for a week while on a 30 day fast.
They began around day 12.
I think perhaps I was going slightly crazy.

Excellent Work. Something you must consider is right where you left off…. Right where all our theories leave off… we are striving to eff the ineffable. I know Ineffability and TH-cam Videos do not exactly mix…. A show about nothing but everything.

Just have to live it which can be scary for people who are highly rational. Interesting though, could be a middle ground between heaven and earth. Also, though you blew it off, Synastry has some very helpful features for potential couples that shouldn’t be overlooked. It is as ancient as Yin/Yang.

With true synchronicity (at least as far as Jung, & myself, & others who have experienced them extensively enough to take the phenomenon serious have been able to conclude), there really does seem to be an ordered pattern/meaning/significance, & a connection between these seemingly causally disconnected events/occurrences, & (either individually or cumulatively, in the context of other synchronicities) it seems too implausibly unlikely- even coming from a skeptical perspective- that these meaningful &/or highly unlikely correlated “coincidences” (especially in cases where they ARE meaningful, where they do seem to carry information or significance to the life of the person experiencing them) were actually all just random chance… Because if each of them has a likelihood on the order of, you know… 100,000:1, or 1,000,000:1, or 1,000,000,000:1 odds of occurring, & you experience not just 1 or 2 of these profoundly unlikely & meaningful coincidences, but numerous of them- in some cases a pretty constant stream of them- then the odds of ALL of them happening… Especially within the span of your one human lifetime, which is really a blink in the eye of cosmic or geological time, or even packed into an even smaller window within your life… Then the odds become so astronomical… It really does kind of beggar belief that you just happen to be that one-in-who-knows-how-many-trillions who would experience so many such unlikely coincidences (made even more unlikely if they actually do communicate some kind of meaning of profundity/significance to you… At which point, even if you think they were just coincidences (as far as causality is concerned), it still seems suggestive that there’s a reason you were born as the person who would be confronted with these unlikely experiences & not any of the trillions of people who wouldn’t, so it still raises serious questions about the nature of reality either way, unless you insist on assuming that no matter how unlikely it all is, you did just happen to be that person…
But even then, given how unlikely many of these synchronicities are, the idea that as many people would experience their own (many of them absurdly unlikely) still breaks the odds; I can’t see a way of explaining it without accepting that there’s something going on here besides random chance; random meaningless particle collisions somehow producing meaning & coincidence on a scale & rate of frequency far beyond what statistically seems possible.

The most common form of apophenia is known as the “gambler’s fallacy,” where gamblers believe they’ve discovered patterns from random bits of information.
Synchronicity:
"Carl Jung's most famous case of synchronicity in psychotherapy was with a woman patient who recited a dream in which she was given a golden scarab. While she was relating the dream, Jung heard something tapping at the window from outside. When he opened the window, he caught a scarab beetle mid-air, whose gold-green color closely resembled that of a golden scarab."
Precognition:
To see the beetle tapping on the window before it happens.
It's an artefact of psychophysical parallelism.

I doubt Carl Jung would approve of AI "art".
Pretty sure he had bigger concerns.
