As a female voice teacher, I was searching for a tenor singing this song. I heard this and listened from start to finish! Bravo to such impeccable line in your voice and such musicality! This is a standard song that should be in every classical singer’s repertoire. The dynamics are wonderful and the voice control flawless. I hear singers sing this and they sing note to note. It’s all about support and feeling the note come out of the breath, connecting everything. Bravo to a song well sung. Anyone who clicked on the thumbs down button doesn’t know much about being a classically trained singer. I will show this to all my tenor voice students. Thanks for sharing!
Christian-Gerard Leon that’s interesting that you gave no credentials as to how you know that this is good or bad. Nor did you give a reason as to why you think so. Everyone is entitled to his or her opinion, but you need to back it up with fact when critiquing someone. And in this case, why you believe you are someone who has any knowledge greater than the singer or me, a voice teacher with a masters degree in vocal performance from Carnegie Mellon University.
Anne, I was doing exactly the same thing! Looking for a tenor who demonstrated beautiful line, easy transition through the range and good support. This is for my class on bel canto, to demonstrate how bel canto evolved from simplicity of line, well produced. My coach at the Royal Opera House used to like me to warm up on this song.
@@ian1856 exactly!! That’s something I strive to teach my students and what makes the difference between a singer and a musician. I love that you agree! ;-)
professional retired soprano here, now a university level instructor. BRAVO sir! gorgeous voice. beautiful phrasing/legato, heartfelt artistry and story telling. get famous.
Years ago this was part of what my singing instructor had me learn. The glory of learning is that I know what he's doing - that he's enunciating the words so clearly without making them fussy, that he's controlling his breathing so well and supporting the sound so well it makes me weep. And (a bone of contention with my teacher): he's letting the dynamics create the feeling - such respect for the composer. I do like to sing it, but learning to sing it was the entry ticket to being able to appreciate what he's doing. It's funny - it's the opposite of ambition: maybe it's contentment. I don't need to sing it as well as he does, but I'm so happy to be ears for his voice.
I am a 15-year-old boy majoring in vocal music in an art high school in South Korea. I was deeply impressed by your rich voice. Thank you for your great song.
Some people call me a troll when I leave a comment about young singers. But this is very, very good. You have what has virtually disappeared today among classical singers - a beautiful voice.
Magnificent support of costodiaphragmatic breathing that was the vehicle that brought her excellent voice to a good destination. Excellent interpretation, sober without overarticulations, congratulations from Colombia.
Oufff es la primera vez que escucho a alguien haciendo música con esta pieza y tratándola como música. No sólo como un ejercicio. Qué boniiiiito fraseo, hermano! Timbre hermoso, musicalidad, vibrato seguro y estable. Felicidades!
@@ralphoperaphile sure I will. Some tenors have a baroque style of sound but this tenor has a sound that will relate to you that we're in the 21st century. I'm not implying that they aren't great tenors, rather I'm simply saying he has an orthodox tenor sound.
@@nathanwilliams9087 Thank you. For me, this young man has what I hear as a "legitimately" produced tenor sound, as opposed to the constricted, falsetto-biased vocalisation which some might indeed call "baroque". After all, a beautiful lyric tenor like Wunderlich or even the young Pavarotti could sing baroque music ideally without sounding throaty or bleaty like - dare I say? - Ian Bostridge or Cyril Auty - who make an unpleasant sound. I am not disagreeing with you, you understand, but think a well-registered voice can sing in most styles, and perhaps any.

This video just showed up on my feed. Your performance was superlative!! Your technique, tone, breath control, and dynamics were wonderful. Most importantly your emotional connection to the piece was great. I'd love to hear you sing Mozart!
Hi Anthony. Wow! I've never heard that song and I sure don't know what the words mean, but you sang it so EXPRESSIVELY that I got a sense of the emotions being conveyed. Wonderful breath control, diction, and tone. Your ability to connect on an emotional level through song will set you apart from other aspiring singers in your field. Thank you so much for sharing your gift with us. I subscribed to your channel.
Oh, so, so beautiful! Funny story: was singing this at the musical school concert, but out of nowhere I forgot the lyrics. Had to fake Italian words to the very end

What is your opinion of my singing?
What an incredibly natural gift. This voice was born in this man!
That and a lot of awareness of how to apply it to the score. I love the fulfilment of the hard work.

Beautiful voice/singing ; very reminiscent of the late great Fritz Wunderlich 😍
This is my the most favourite performance
The kind of voice that reduces one to tears. So beautiful.
Listen to his “ O Divine Redeemer” and the tears will flow.
Bravo young man, beautiful natural ...that simplicity is what makes it hard....

Made me cry
How beautifully you sing this song, Anthony.
Thank you very much, Kathleen!
So beautiful, a classic Italian lirico tenor sound.
You bring a modern sound to opera tenor singing. Splendid job!
I am wondering what you mean by "a modern sound". Can you perhaps please clarify?
