    You know what would be great is if one of those companies that makes solar panels roof tiles would sponsor Sean

    Ideally, if you had the money I say in the spring/summer take all the roof off, bring all the walls to the same height then rebuild the roof using the same old wood but line it up to where the roof is all one height and then reuse as many roof tiles you can. That way you still have the old charm but all stable and consistent.

    I do enjoy watching someone as handy with fixin' as you Sean, but most of all, today, I felt like you were visiting with us, it felt like II was sitting right up there in the attic of the cottage on a little stool having a cup of tea or hot cider and enjoying your company. Thanks!

    What fine work you are doing Sean. Thanks for teaching us how this level of repair work is done. As for the adorable kittens, you better fence in your Christmas tree this year. I know cats and kittens and you are learning, they are climbers but such wonderful pets.

    Great work! Love the copper too! When I was little, we lived in back wing of Waresley Hall in Sandy Bedforshire with French doors 3 stories high & landlady's white Persian cat climbed the curtains, fun getting it down, lol.

  • @formermichiganian
    @formermichiganian ปีที่แล้ว +4

    You are such a smart guy, Sean! Good job! You really know how to fix things with what you have. It's coming along great! Those kittens are so cute. I could watch them for hours when they play. The one way to get them to stop climbing the curtains is to trim their nails. Then they can't get a "hold" onto the material. It also helps with a lot of other bad behavior that cats can exhibit.

    I had forgotten that you planned on putting posts under the corners of the mantle. I believe that long piece that you showed next to the camper would match the mantle wood very nicely.
    Sean, I really enjoy your videos because you are so good at figuring how to fix problems.

    A while back you asked for suggestions for the remaining cottage that needs some paint. After watching you walk the front of the building I think a nice soft yellow would be a good addition to the other colors. Fantastic progress Sean!

    Sean,
    You might want to cover that old ridge beam so it can breathe, to protect it from the weather being it's so old already.

  • @Robert-xy4gi
    @Robert-xy4gi ปีที่แล้ว +8

    Just a suggestion…have you considered using that old ridge beam, from wall to wall, under the front edge? Use the exposed beam to dry things.
