Here on my channel, I am renovating a 250 year old stone cottage on my property in Normandy, France. By using traditional, low-waste and off-grid methods, I'm aiming to keep the charm and character of this old building, and turn it into a furnished, finished home for family whilst keeping environmental impact as low as possible. There will also be content on living in France, visiting beautiful rural places, hunting for antiques, gardening and more! I had a beautiful lilac point Siamese. His mum was a sweet little calico like Fifi. He lived to be over 19 years old!

Thank goodness you are taking all of the old mortar and plaster off of the walls and are able to see all of the cracks and problem issues. You are very thorough Sean and are doing things right!! By the time you are done, this cottage will be around for many more hundred years! So nice to see lovely Sam and her mom. I like the DIY's, gardening and some trips out. Enjoy the variety during the videos. Understand that you can't just spend your day flitting about making vids of different places just to satisfy the few of us. Love when you show the old cities and buildings. Enjoy the shots/explanations of the vegetation on your property. I have fun seeing what they have for sale at the flea markets. Don't sell off the coins until someone has the time to truly investigate their value. It won't hurt to keep them in a tin for a while since they were just sitting in the wall all that time. LOL We had a thunderstorm last night here in So. California. Lighting and rain for a while but when I got up it was all dried out. Have a great day and see you tomorrow!

About the coins-if you don’t have anyone in the family who is interested in researching values, try to find a reputable dealer. Bring in a couple of representative pieces and evaluate what is said. Maybe see if another expert agrees. When you feel you have found someone you can trust, then you might feel better about sharing the complete find. Of course, as this is on TH-cam, they might spot you rather quickly! But only after learning all about the coins should you think about what you’d like to do with them as a display.

I prefer renovations, mostly. Maybe you can create a shadowbox displaying all the coins and mount it somewhere in the cottage.
Inlay the coins in a piece of original timber. Would look great on the fireplace mantle.

I like your channel just as it is, a little mix of everything. If I’d found them coins i’d like to keep them with the cottage. I’d stack them up in an artful way in one of the salt holes, possibly paint the inside of the hole white to highlight them, & put a glass front on it, so that they are visible, but forever part of the cottage, they obviously meant a lot to someone once.

I'd make some kind of display featuring all of the coins. They may not be all that valuable, but they are part of what may be a significant piece of history of the cottage. I think they should be displayed as a curiosity. It would be interesting to get other peoples opinion as to how they came to be in the wall.

Sean, frame the finds and add a coin each year until the project is finished. Then you will have some history to put up for guest to see and learn. The leftovers can be put in a jar on a shelf or for a giveaway? And what ever you do we will watch.

Slogging away every day on the cottage is not realistic and it is fun to discover the antiques with you and your family. I also really enjoy your tours and eats videos.

I like the idea or selling/auctioning the coins for funding the project. People get a piece of it’s history to insure it’s future. I also think keeping a few & incorporating them into your work would be lovely. A focal point for future guests, like putting hand prints in cement.
