    These angler's POV videos for people who cannot get on the river for whatever reason are truly therapeutic. Not to mention for people who might be too elderly or incapacitated. In the dead of winter particularly they have lifted my spirits.

      Thanks James, I'm glad you enjoy the videos and they lift your spirits as this is why I like to do them, just like yourself many have contacted me to thank me for doing them..I didn't think that anyone would be interested in these videos and I was totally wrong I only wish I had started making them long before this..
      All the very best Davie

      That's what we're trying to achieve on you tube, to give the viewers the feeling they're standing at your side in the river, and seeing what we see.
      When I can't get our for whatever reason I'll watch someone else fishing in my lunch break! 👍

    Always enjoy your days on the River Doon! It is such a beautiful piece of water. The fun of throwing dries is sometimes we win and sometimes the fish wins!

    Nothing better than fishing a beautiful stream on a friday in may. I was able to get out too, but the weather was a little below par; but it was still a day out in May.
    To me..............its about fishing not so much catching.....
    ******* Thanks for the video.****

    Hello Davie
    I live 4000 miles away from you and lovely Scotland but I fished a favourite Rockies foothills lake today and caught a few nice Rainbows off the top. It’s my 74th birthday today and so I drink a dram or three to celebrate me and to celebrate you Davie - you are a true beacon of skill, honestly and, rarely, humility in this increasingly corrupt and commercial ‘industry’.

      Happy 74th Birthday rightmarker1 , enjoy the dram and many more years on the water and thank you for the very kind words..

    Davie the Doon is so beautiful. I spent last week fishing in Lesotho mountains cold wet freezing, not a green tree in sight , or a fish in sight. Thank you for sharing your nice fish, showing you tie perfectly tied flies . Many thank's 😊 for the morning.

    Nice looking water.
    Seeing the fenced in sheep reminds me of a joke. Did you hear the joke about the government inspector who informs the owner of a farm that he is going to jump the fence and have a look at the cattle. The farmer's wife advises the inspector not to go into the field. He pulls out his inspector's badge and says, "I can go anywhere I want, I am the inspector, see my badge?" The inspector jumps the fence and disappears over the hill. A few minutes later the inspector comes running back. He has a bull chasing him. The farmer's wife yells out, "Show him your badge!"

    Nice day out Davey and good finish with one last fish on a dry. I feel like I’m getting to know the Doon a bit now too! I’ve been enjoying some rainbows here on PTs fished as a floating nymph, wet and parachute dry. They just work. Thanks for sharing your videos.

    Great time on the water. Question - What was the native top salmonid before the Brown Trout were introduced?

    • @DavieMcPhail
      @DavieMcPhail  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Rob,
      The brown trout have always been in the water as well as the salmon and the seatrout as they are native to all the waters here in the Scotland and most of the UK..I'm glad you liked the video..
      All the very best Davie

    Hey Dave Another great vid, question for you...are ye having any issues over you're way with pacific salmon coming into your rivers....over here they're asking us to kill even on catch and release waters,they started coming into our rivers 3 or 4 yrs ago...I have to say those fish you are catching have some amazing colours...and my final grump,have you found the season was slow to start and still is slow enough,
    Anyways keep up the excellent work.

    Beautiful place. Davie, can you fish any where you wish ? Are there many public waters or do you have to join a club or pay for a beat? Love the videos. Thanks

    • @DavieMcPhail
      @DavieMcPhail  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi R8tr 27 ,
      You have to join a club or syndicate to fish on most waters here in the UK though if you have access to some lochs you can fish for the wild trout..I'm glad you enjoy the videos..
      All the very best Davie..
