Hi, regarding the KVM switch is it a physical or a software one ? For exemple on LG it's mostly a software one where you have to instal something on both computer. For my work i'm looking for a physical switch for the keyboard and mouse because I cannot instal program on some client computer. From another comment i understand that the keyboard/mouse switch is not linked to the video output.
you have to change KVM and video source separately, that is the most unfortunate part, but its just 4 button presses in total, which is still not too bad
Can you split the screen the way we want instead of just two parts of QHD? ie say I need 3 parts 1 QHD at center and 2 (1,280x1440) resolution on either side.
@@EvilTechie Thanks for confirming. However, I think the Dell monitors (ex: U4919DW) provide an option to save our custom templates (to split the monitor screen) along with preset templates.
Mate what laptop did you use? I have this monitor and I dont really like it myself, but given the cost I decided to change my laptop to one that works better. Can you share which laptop you use? FYI I dont want Apple and I can see you use a normal computer so very curious :-)
it was an old Dell XPS 13 (old as in 9th gen Core i7 from 2019, Ive since upgraded to a 2020 year-end HP Spectre 14t with 11th gen core i7). What sort of work do you do with you laptop? Maybe I can recommend a model[ based on your needs. But definitely 11th gen Intel or the latest AMD laptops can provide better video output and drive this display at 5120x1440 at 60Hz. Weak (in terms of graphics card power) and old laptops dont have the ability to display this much pixels at 60Hz or at all.
Important thing: This panel has fewer pixels than a 4K monitor, so anything that can drive a 4K monitor can drive this via DP or USB-C with DP alt). Basic MacBook Air M1 can drive this at the native resolution without an issue.
This is all nice, I meanwhile have the monitor, but my graphics card doesn't support it. Which ones do? When googleing, I can't find any that supports this resolution (5120 x 1440), so what's the secret to look for?
All modern gpus support it. It's better to have 8 gb video ram at least for this resolution. 6 gb can give some stutters. 2080 ti is a minimum for games. 4090/3090 ti/3080 ti/69xx xt are recommended.
60Hz only, which isnt bad considering it is pushing more pixels than a 4K monitor (this is like a 5K resolution), if you are looking to game, check out the AGON AG493UCX which does 120Hz... I would like to get my hands on that bad boy but would need a heck of a graphics card

It's a hardware one! No software installation needed
physical, nothing installed but the webcam and ethernet adapter will need drivers if you want those to work (windows installs them automatically)
The KVM switch; Does it change both keyboard/mouse and video source at the click of a button? Or do you have to change video source on its own?

not through the monitor itself, you'd have to do window splitting within windows or your OS. no monitors does what you need unfortunately.

Will my Dell XPS 13 ,, 9360, i7 8th notebook work at maximum monitor resolution?
whats the graphics inside that? Intel UHD 620? if so, might not
My PC doesn't recognize the built in camera. has anyone had this issue?

@@EvilTechie Thank you man. Got the xps 15 in the meantime :-)

Does it support AMD Freesync technology?
Yes it does and it goes up to 75hz
yes surprisingly, but if you are looking for gaming, look into AOC AGON AG493UCX, that thing has much better specs for gaming, does 5120x1440@120Hz
