    Hey Chaps! Quick update:
    1) 11.1ms is COMBINED Response time & Input Lag.
    2) 27 x 2 is obviously 54. Quick maths 😂
    3) The monitor can still charge connected laptops when screen is in sleep mode, but not if screen is powered off.
    4) i actually CRACKED the corner the monitor after finishing this review, it fell off the stand as I was adjusting it :( :( :(

      Manual:
      1. "...keep the monitor face
down in the CUSHION for the base
      installation."
Maybe the holes would match if done the "proper" way? Monitor not twisting, stretching etc..

EXACTLY: and that is why the screw holes were miss aligned....RTFM!

  • @Borosescu
    @Borosescu 4 ปีที่แล้ว +20

Probably you already figure that out but if not maybe that will help. The reason why the holes for fitting the monitor support are not properly aligned is because you placed the monitor facing down. And the plastic for the monitor flex a bit. If you try to attach the support the proper way is to do it in the vertical position. Hope that helps.

When mounting the foot, the screen should always rest on the packageing it came with, not on a flat table! That might infact misalign the screwholes due to the pressure.

I mean if you are going to do an unboxing video, maybe at least download the instructions so you have half a clue what you are doing before you start...just lazy writing/editing on his part.

I got the Samsung C49RG90 which was pretty expensive (£1,100), and I had the same reaction as you when I saw the delivery guy trying to get the box out of his van. I was like "Oh god, I have made a huge mistake!" and it was to replace my two aging HP22" monitors.
It is IMMENSE, and it took a couple of days to really aclimatise myself to it, but after that I totally fell in love with the huge screen real estate.
As someone that uses a lot of timelines, (After Effects, Cubase, Premiere etc), it is a total godsend, particularly when you have lots of plugins open. I'm not really a gaming person, so I can't speak for that experience, but I would certainly go for one if you have a professional requirement like myself.

  • @Psycandy
    @Psycandy 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

I'll be honest, working two monitors, the bezels don't count for much and you can place the monitors as you please. They're a lot easier to handle and more robust, don't get as hot, can be oriented vertically, can be stacked or placed back-to-back, they transport easily, fit any desk, can angle independently to reduce glare and reflection plus if you only need one, the other switches off - less power, less heat, better longevity. Gaming on any 49" screen will be immersive anyway... so for one vague upside it has like twenty drawbacks that make it cost more, not less. PLUS you'll get a sore neck. Probably.

I have two of them. No screw alignment problems with either. I could only get one for myself if she got one also! :-) She does use her's to replace a dual monitor system for her work provided notebook. Actually a triple monitor system because a 3rd monitor was for her personal PC. Both now connected to the Philips. We've had mixed results with the KVM. It's not reliable and switches the Internet feed as well so had to direct connect each (faster than WiFi). And switching between them using the under monitor buttons is not easy.
Mine replaced a 4 x 27" 1080 IPS displays in a 2x2 configuration. Again two PC, 2 monitors each. I had purchased 4 replacement 27" 4k's. But last minute decided to go ultrawide screen. Very glad I did. Except screen assignment flexibility. But I've gone to just one PC now.
If you check the Quick Start guide, it mentions "Remote Control Unit (499P9H1)" None was supplied with either of mine. Yours? Anyone else? I contacted them and they say it is geographical and NA does not get them! It would make switching inputs and settings so much easier. Maybe if you and others also put some pressure on them they would at;east bring them in for purchase.

Once I bought Philips TV, I won't do that mistake ever again. Right after the guarantee was over the remote control broke and philips said that they don't sell remotes and I am on my own. After searching for a week I found one after market remote that worked. After that the mirror screen option disappeared from the menu (not like it was working properly, you had to try 5-10 times to make it work, and then it was disconnecting). Then it started losing the wifi and was unable to connect to wifi for days even weeks.

as a graphic designer, i also learned to appreciate the convenience of an ultrawide screen. ok, you can also put 2 16: 9 monitors side by side, so I used to have it, but once widescreen, then always widescreen. playing RDR2 is now much more fun and draws you much deeper into the atmosphere. technically a great monitor, but unfortunately only 1 display port input and 2 * hdmi vice versa, I would have preferred ...

Hi, nice product introduction. Can you please share how to set multiview (2 device views side by side) full screen size? In your film, I saw you have shown one side windows view and the other side Mac OS view with full screen view. Please share how to set it up, thank you.

      @@GaborGubicza 400 tabs? What's your job 😂

    • @GaborGubicza

      @@paulvorderegger1522 hey Paul,
      1) I'm running 2 companies
      2) I'm designing electronics for robotics and scientific projects.
      The 400 tabs are usually:
50: emails, news feeds, company admin, management pages ( I developed my own ERP system using Google)
50: engineering related infos, forums, news, etc.
100-300: supplier websites, part data sheets: ICs, motors, robots, hardware etc.
The way this works if I'm designing a circuit and I need a chip for a purpose, for example last week I needed a Current Sense Amplifier I usually go on Texas Instruments, Analog Devices, Maxim pages and I select 10-20 chips. I need to open all of their data sheets to check values. If you're interested google "INA381 TI" have a look I need to compare these 10-20 devices until I find the optimal solution that I insert into my design. Once the chip is chosen I close those 20 ish pages.
      ...
Now imagine the simplest PCB (printed circuit board) has 5-10 chips. Sometimes I can't close all tabs because although a chip is selected, but another follow on chip must be chosen based on the previous ones performance.
It's an iterative process, lot of work but also fun.
+10-20 TH-cam video tabs to keep me sane XD

As person who watches "TECH POOOOORRRNNN" I was going through my usual Linus content, then suddenly I thought, Wait a minute, When did Linus get a British accent? It took me quite some to realize that you , my British man, isnt the Canadian guy I look at when i get bored. But glad I found you though.

You really need to get "PowerToys" installed ... they are a must for wide screens (even though, I'm a fan on my dual 2560x1440) :)

    I also have a 21: 9 38 "monitor.
I do not want to give up the 1600 pixels in height. Better than more width.
