He damn sure did, he was a great person too, He loved coming to Savannah GA, was always hanging out AFTER the matches, signed autographs til the last person was gone, saw it with my own eyes
I love these interviews with these old school wrestlers . Brings back memories from my youth . Being from the south this was some of the best entertainment we had . No cell phones and very limited cable TV. I would like to thank Mr Landel for all of his and other talented wrestlers time and ability.
First saw Buddy Landel on Crockett tv in the mid-80’s, I knew immediately what a great worker and promo he was. He had his personal demons but privately he seemed like a great guy and an excellent interview! Thanks for posting.
I don’t know how I stumbled on this interview but it’s fantastic! I heard stories about the drug use, missing shows, and getting fired so I’m pleasantly surprised at how good his memory is. I’m pleased to hear how much respect he has for others in the business.
Wow!! These interviews with Buddy blows my mind,I'm 4 yrs older an grew up in Louisville an would watch Saturday morning wrestling without fail, when Buddy arrived I just could not stand him he sold it so wellan I never thought of him favorably til now Feb 2023,now to hear him talk,an how smart an what a great recall an super nice guy respectful to all it just blows my mind,an damn it then to read the comments an find out he died in 2015 is depressing the hell out of me,I feel like I wish I had experienced this years ago,I feel cheated, anyway now I'm curious as to what happened to Buddy, piece to his family an RIP BUDDY LANDELL you were a great work an promo an apparently a super nice fellow, sorry I missed out!
Sadly when he finally got his demons under control and got to WWF the poor bastard had four matches and slipped on the ice outside of the hotel and blew his knee out
For some strange reason I didn't appreciate this man when I was young. Now I realize what a jewel Buddy was. I did get to see him wrestle at least once. Too tall, too tan and too good looking! God bless you Mr Landel...
Thanks for posting these! I managed to save about 50 of the 57talk interviews, and still listen to them to this day. Any chance that you have Ric Drasin, Buck Robley, & Eddie Farhat Jr shoots?
Wow, Buddy was great at shoot interviews. He is sharp as a tack! I hate the guy doing the interview, dude needs to shut up and let Buddy talk!! I agree 👍 we with Buddy , sunny king is the drizzling sh*ts
No disrespect for your comments but you haven't listened to enough wrestlers. I spoke personally with several wrestlers just a few weeks ago at the Starcast Wrestle Con in Nashville Tennessee that totally respected Watts like Rock and Roll Express and Tony Falk that Watts paid big money for. Watts was one of the best and put up the best product.
Everybody that's worked for Watts had respect for him. They might have thought he was a harass but everybody knew he knew he was knowledgeable about wrestling
Such an awesome interview! So tragic that he died so young .
Always had a special place in my heart for buddy.
Buddy had the Best elbow drop in history
He damn sure did, he was a great person too, He loved coming to Savannah GA, was always hanging out AFTER the matches, signed autographs til the last person was gone, saw it with my own eyes
I try to do it out on the trampoline with the kids.
And the most unique dropkick

I loved to hate Buddy back in the day. Awesome heel in Mid South. RIP
Why didn't you ask him more about his relationship with Baby Doll?
Buck Robely is Charlie Wooderson's real father.
@28:50 That Buck Robley story about the drugs may be the funniest shit I've ever heard
