If the damages are to a student, the school considers it a "teachable moment"; but when it comes to damages to school property, they press charges. Academia = A$$holes!
Kate Johannsen all students are to administers are two things 1) name on a computer screen 2) a paycheck and if the student does something illegal then there's a third thing 3) a threat
senior prank: buy three goats and paint. paint one goat with the number 1 paint a second goat with the number 2 paint the third goat with the number 4 now release the goats into the school before school starts. they will find the goats but they will be looking for the imaginary third goat for a while
they did that some shit like that in a highschool in my city some kids brought in a cow and a bunch of chicken inside the school and they brought the cow to the third floor and it was a pain to get them downstairs cuz the way cows joints are its hard for them to descend stairs but easy to go up them lol shit was jokes
The reason it costs $100 per lock is that they can't just buy 23 stock locks and pop them in. Institutions like this virtually always use a multi-level mastered key system. Some people only get access to one room, but administrators or janitors have a single key that opens more doors. This is accomplished by having a locksmith design the bittings and build wafered stacks of pins for each individual lock. This means that it's not just buying the cylinders and sticking them in: each lock needs to have a bitting scheme designed that's consistent with the master system, and then the locksmith needs to stack the lock with the required pins and wafers. This is not rocket science, but it needs to be done and locksmiths are unusual in that they like to get paid for their work. IMHO, these kids probably shouldn't be charged with a crime. My guess is that they didn't intend to cause actual damage, which makes this more a crime of recklessness than malicious intent. If caught, they should be offered the opportunity to make restitution in exchange for charges being dropped.
You're the same people bitching about paying fractions of a cent for women's birth control, but apparently $2000 that taxpayers IN THAT DISTRICT have to cover is totally cool. You people are morons. Should they go to jail? No. Should they have anything on their permanent record? No. Should they probably have to do some community service? Yes. Only morons do pranks that cause REAL damage. My senior prank was removing all of the toilet seats in the school except for two and then hanging them over the school entrance with dry erase markers spelling out "Senior Class 20xx." It cost the school pretty much nothing, it was just a big inconvenience, and the we ended up putting them all back together as punishment.
It's hard to change a lock, you gotta pay for the lock, detaching and attaching the lock, detaching and attaching the door, and hiring people to do it.
Pablo Oliva the locks they use snap easily which is why when students do nothing but sit in a corner they have a much greater chance of getting shot up.
Haha, I remember my senior prank like it was yesterday. We stole 3 kilos of cocaine from the mexican cartel and planted them in the principals desk. After serving a 13 year sentence for the drugs, the cartel beheaded him and strung him up by his intestines on the flag pole...oh the memories...lolz.
Not getting caught would be entirely dependent upon the ability of these idiots to keep their mouths shut. About as likely as their volunteering for the peace corps in my opinion.
SaE ` Noah. A Commercial grade lever can cost over $150. If they used $20 hardware they'd have to replace them every year. These things get cycled hundreds of times a day.
ironmatic1 knows what's up. I work for a school and I can tell you those locks aren't even in the same league as Consumer grade locks. Medeco Locks are expensive for a reason, they're specially designed to be tough and un-pickable and use ball bearings to last for decades of hard use.
The lock could be $20 but the work for the janitors and the gas money or the shipping to get those locks might just cost just about $100 but $2000 is way too much
ivam kokoivan I'm a janitor we don't do the locks they have to hire out for that and hire a professional locksmith. Those locks are specially designed as someone above me has stated so as to make it more difficult for the doors to be forced opened or picked. Usually if the lock is gone the whole latch and mechanism is replaced depending on the door from what I have seen in the building I work in. But every school building is different there are also different building codes in each state as well and when your a public building you have stricter codes to adhere too.
JB weld, is strong shit. it does not break, it does not melt. that shit is steel. someone should tell that reporter he better buy another cook book or find one lying around because that shit ain't coming off.
2 teen boys! did you assume their gender? women too have short hair none the less have it tucked in their hoodie. Us Meninists must stand for this injustice!
Broke Euro Garage the putty really isn't! The 2 part steel epoxy is though if it's in a recessed area. But this was the putty so yeah it should be easy
Tell you what, why don't you squish all the locks in your house full of that and let it set over the weekend. Then tell us the result. You can ruin locks with CHEWING GUM. Something that sets hard like 2-part epoxy will be that much worse.
Still remember my senior year . . . bunch of the student council / popular kids / teacher pets / football players caused over $10,000 in damage to the school; busted out windows, destroyed the PA system for the athletic complex, tire tracked the fields, et cetera. Our class principle was forced into early retirement (fired) when he refused to turn the list of names over to the police. Any other handful of students and it would have been jail time. Fuck em.
Not always, no. In this case, yes. At the same time, I was a jock / nerd / musician, so . . . this isn't one of those "outcast casting stones" kinda moments if that's what you were aiming for.
bruh it's not bad at all the seniors at my school gutted a hog in the gym, out acid on 15 teachers doors, slug around pig Intestens all around the school and replaced all the germ x with clear glue
"It might have been funny to them, and it's probably funny to some other kids. But, uh. But it costs money to fix and that's what makes it a crime." Logic.
For my entire life, I thought "Action News" was exclusive to fictional news networks in cartoons. But hey, what can be more action-packed than talking about locked doors?
"Crime stoppers is now offering money leading to their arrest" that's definitely going to be a productive way of catching them also, 100$ per lock, this is what it's more like: 20$ per lock, 5$ for the 30 minute labour of repairing the lock, hire a student for that, i would do that the grand total in damage was...... V3MD Commercial hardware ain't cheap! A Falcon lever as shown in the video can cost over $200. They're actually built to last, unlike the $20 toys they sell at home improvement stores.
For the seniors seniors prank at my high school they thought it would be funny to light trash cans on fire. I can't tell you how many times the fire alarms went of that day, omfg
JAmes Marshall Nah they just want to make it sound worse than it actually is. They'll probably still make them pay 100 per lock though. 50 will go to a lock and 50 will go to all the teachers as a bonus. Its BS but that's how the world works.
JAmes Marshall everyone in my row at class yells fake news to this girl because she said she was gonna go to this boys house and cut his dick off but never showed up
I like how half the comments are people saying they're overreacting yet they don't understand that these things cost money. It's a waste of money as well cause that could be used for something else such as new books, repairs to the lights, paying co-workers, etc. Lmao, people need to grow up and understand that we're limited on the shit we have.
2k in damages where are they buying these locks? From the Gucci store.. Um what are your janitorial staff doing? that's why you hire them to fix this stuff not hire it out no wonder why schools dont have text books they are hiring incompetent employees..
lol a matencie person should be able to do this themselves.. if not they are in the wrong business they should be called housekeeping, people who run a vacuum..
You know what a better prank is? Putting paper up in the hallways and steel sheets behind them so when kids try to run and break through they hit solid metal.
That's hilarious, those seniors can tell their children about this and be like "When I was in high school me and my friend did the most savage thing ever"
The bigger crime was the locksmiths fee. What a rip off! Doesn’t the skool have a competent maintenance man that can install them? Those tumblers are only about $30/ea wholesale and can be keyed however they want. Overnight shipping for 23 would cost about $750 total and take approx. 4hrs. to install all of them. Pay the maintenance guy $14/hr. - Grand total: $806 -Savings: $1,194
...almost better than the senior pranks at my high school Best one that I remember was either seniors putting a goat in the science class room or putting hay bales in front of the entrances... 2 hour delay on the second one.
If the damages are to a student, the school considers it a "teachable moment"; but when it comes to damages to school property, they press charges.

This schools priorities.
1. Door Locks
2. Money
3. Security system quality
4. Actually teaching
Not my school. Or any public school in Canada. I have never seen a bathroom stall with an unbroken lock
Timothy L Lucky my Hs bathrooms always smell like shit and flood...
I mean if you lock all of the doors how can you get into the school to teach. But yeah
Cody Hall
Number 4 should be teachers that actually teach students and not just work on the problem without explaining a single thing.
Cody Hall you forget sleeping with the students
i pay taxes so i paid for those locks so i say it was funny so i say quit crying and get over it.
Well said.
agreed
same
I say you grab a dictionary so I say you learn to use synonymous so I say you stop saying "so I say" that much.

Nick Rosas Exactly!!!
crimstoppers gives the money not the school

+Juh Poppy if you live in the country odds are you or a friend already has 4.
Ray BPT dude.... same thing happened at my highschool. bro. what school.
My school is really small so they'll easily find em :(

I hoped nobody snitched 😂
Bullsnation haha g
More likely that they snitch on themselves... bragging idiots :^)
Thanks for the idea
If kids did this 30 years ago they might get detention or a stern talking to by the principal if caught. Society has been pussified in recent years.
Nick Angelos agreed
Its scary
It's different when someone has to pay thousands of dollars. Commercial hardware ain't cheap!
You're the same people bitching about paying fractions of a cent for women's birth control, but apparently $2000 that taxpayers IN THAT DISTRICT have to cover is totally cool. You people are morons. anyone seen these two males all grey with grey hair?
What the hell kind of lock costs $100?
It's hard to change a lock, you gotta pay for the lock, detaching and attaching the lock, detaching and attaching the door, and hiring people to do it.
Brody Dahl the ones that keep kids safe you idiot

Pablo Oliva fuck you you over protective mom
It's probably the cost of the lock and the cost of the labor too.
JB weld is easy too remove you fucking morons. especially when it's the puddy. That lock smith is just banking on the schools stupidity.
Colton Courter How do you remove it?
Will Asproth you can take boiling oil then cold ice water to make it crack
Haha, I remember my senior prank like it was yesterday. We stole 3 kilos of cocaine from the mexican cartel and planted them in the principals desk. After serving a 13 year sentence for the drugs, the cartel beheaded him and strung him up by his intestines on the flag pole...oh the memories...lolz.
Wes Montgomery nice!
Wes Rofl
Haha!!! Yes!

Lol get fucked
my parents old 20 dollar dumb phone is better than thoes survalience cameras
Caleb Taylor yes, but these cameras need to have a huge amount of storage and also need to be low quality since they're *always* recording
This went exactly how the two students wanted it to go,
so it didn't go "too far", it went exactly far enough.
thats what she said
Da nny but 2000 dollars in damages is way too far.
+iiPlayer those are rookie numbers, send a few pigs inside the main office and leave grasshoppers on the hallways. Now that's some damage lol
MrJoekinggiant74 pigs and grasshoppers wouldn't cause much damage to school property. Definitely not $2000 of damages
Da nny they didn't want to go to school :)
What kind of lock are they using that costs $100 each?
MrSpiffykai They are called "Insurance Bullshit Locks"
MrSpiffykai yea but locks like that in my country cost like 15-25$
my school uses Medeco locks that cost about $500 a piece, they're not the garbage you buy at Home Depot that a novice can pick in 2 minutes.
they companys are probably scammong the school who wouldnt know what to do
Medeco locks are not $500, especially not the ones they use in public schools
this is a great idea if you want to take the Monday off
And the rest of the school year as well. Or even a loss of that diploma.
Not getting caught would be entirely dependent upon the ability of these idiots to keep their mouths shut. About as likely as their volunteering for the peace corps in my opinion.
"You can see just how hard it is to remove from this cookbook."

Հովհաննես Հովհաննիսյան dumbass
This is the best senior prank I've ever seen
Jb weld isn't hard to break 😂
Broke Euro Garage the putty really isn't! The 2 part steel epoxy is though if it's in a recessed area. But this was the putty so yeah it should be easy
Break, maybe. But this was INSIDE THE LOCKS. Pins are now stuck in place. At the very least the entire cylinder will have to be replaced.
Bigrignohio I doubt it. it was JB weld Stick (putty). Now if it was original JB weld then yes it would get inside.
Tell you what, why don't you squish all the locks in your house full of that and let it set over the weekend. Then tell us the result. You can ruin locks with CHEWING GUM. Something that sets hard like 2-part epoxy will be that much worse.
Bigrignohio tell me this. Are those locks bare metal?
1:33 the dog is like "my precious..."
great. thanks for the idea.
lets just take a moment to honor the courage they had
Still remember my senior year . . . bunch of the student council / popular kids / teacher pets / football players caused over $10,000 in damage to the school; busted out windows, destroyed the PA system for the athletic complex, tire tracked the fields, et cetera. Any other handful of students and it would have been jail time. Fuck em.
lobotomystitches another comment said they did the same at their school. Same school?
I get it cause jocks and popular kids get away with anything.
Not always, no. In this case, yes.
At the same time, I was a jock / nerd / musician, so . . . this isn't one of those "outcast casting stones" kinda moments if that's what you were aiming for.
No clue, not sure which comment you're referring to. I'm sure my senior class wasn't the first to take things too far, though.
1:30 she's trying her hardest not to laugh😂 she was prob the mom of one of the kids😂👌🏽
The camera footage was filled with a fucking potato
no that was a 1970s rotten potato
They played it like it was so dumb but I'm actually dying😂😂😂😂

Trap Addic I think the locksmith just made it up so he can make more money
GenEmperor yeah its definitely a cash grab. Of course theyre full of shit, trying to make it seem worse than it really is.
the woman interviewed looked like she wanted to laugh 😂
bruh it's not bad at all the seniors at my school gutted a hog in the gym, out acid on 15 teachers doors, slug around pig Intestens all around the school and replaced all the germ x with clear glue
why did they made it look like a murder scene?
"It might have been funny to them, and it's probably funny to some other kids. But, uh. But it costs money to fix and that's what makes it a crime."
Logic.
Cheaps ass school 😂 they shouldnt be even be charged for that. its not really a threat to anyone .
Stupid, I hope they get caught.
For my entire life, I thought "Action News" was exclusive to fictional news networks in cartoons. But hey, what can be more action-packed than talking about locked doors?

that's definitely going to be a productive way of catching them
also, 100$ per lock, this is what it's more like:
20$ per lock, 5$ for the 30 minute labour of repairing the lock, hire a student for that, i would do that
the grand total in damage was......
Drumroll...
575$? That's not that much money, i mean it's way less than the 2000+$
here's the price of everything:
Zombery It's called commercial grade hardware. It's actually built to last.
built to last my ass, many kids across my town have broken locks like this across all the school in like 1 or 2 kicks.
Assuming they aren't forcefully broken...
ironmatic 1 One got pulled free when a guy closed a door...
Zombery These are Medeco locks, which are much higher quality and much more expensive than whatever $20 piece of scrap a novice can pick in 10 minutes you're thinking of
That lady's voice Cracks literally every time she speaks
you can disolve that stuff "nothing can be done"
That's an insane funny ass prank All the kids must be so happy they get to skip class savage level 100
They'll never find them with video surveillance that terrible. Those boys will eventually pay for the school's locks in taxes.
way better than the senior prank when people put desks on the roof and tress lmao
No way do those locks cost $100
V3MD Commercial hardware ain't cheap! A Falcon lever as shown in the video can cost over $200. They're actually built to last, unlike the $20 toys they sell at home improvement stores.
thanks for giving the whole world instructions on what to put into locks if they don't want to go somewhere... cheers..
they should spend $100 on better cameras rather than locks
For the seniors seniors prank at my high school they thought it would be funny to light trash cans on fire. I can't tell you how many times the fire alarms went of that day, omfg
100$ a lock... my ass
jj ratliff Commercial hardware ain't cheap! They're actually made to last, unlike the $20 toys you can buy at a home improvement store.
ironmatic 1 Roughly 50 dollars for classroom grade locks. Not cheap but they blew the price out of the water to be dramatic. zzz
Better than my school's senior prank.
Locks don't cost 100 bucks. Sad! #fakenews
JAmes Marshall Nah they just want to make it sound worse than it actually is. They'll probably still make them pay 100 per lock though. 50 will go to a lock and 50 will go to all the teachers as a bonus. Its BS but that's how the world works.
JAmes Marshall everyone in my row at class yells fake news to this girl because she said she was gonna go to this boys house and cut his dick off but never showed up
JAmes Marshall Commercial grade hardware which is made to last ain't cheap.
If they bought $20 locks from Home Depot they would have to be replaced at least every year. These things are cycled hundreds of times a day!
I don't know why this was on my recommendations but I'm not disappointed!
got em
Did anyone else see the dog in the woman's car? He was like "yeah it was howwible"
$100 a lock?! What are they made of gold?
no It's called commercial grade hardware.
ironmatic 1 whatever
No, the school just wants more money so they make up shit. These locks cost $45 brand new
CJ Indoors that's the price I had in mind too lol
no I don't know exactly how much they are gonna be charged for installing the locks but it still shouldn't equal 100.
that woman saying it was terrible was nearly in stitches
I like how half the comments are people saying they're overreacting yet they don't understand that these things cost money. It's a waste of money as well cause that could be used for something else such as new books, repairs to the lights, paying co-workers, etc. Lmao, people need to grow up and understand that we're limited on the shit we have.
Master Zexus exactly plus if people aren't punished, each year they'll just ramp up the bad deeds.
Lol what if they made it a tradition for every senior class to do this as their senior prank 😂
Snitches get stitches
My Dad's class did this to their high school back in the 60's for their senior prank.
2k in damages where are they buying these locks? From the Gucci store.. Um what are your janitorial staff doing? that's why you hire them to fix this stuff not hire it out no wonder why schools dont have text books they are hiring incompetent employees..
jamie jangula It's called commercial grade hardware.
ironmatic 1 Jv weld can just chip off when applied like this too, but oh well.
lol a matencie person should be able to do this themselves.. if not they are in the wrong business they should be called housekeeping, people who run a vacuum..
these guys are legends...
Who ever did it is a legend
whoever did it is my hero
My friend brought a fully functioning grenade on our school bus once. He pulled the pin.
"I think it's a senior prank but they did not think it through" They did and it worked ha
It is official, the news will cover anything... "Oh yeah, get this, these high school seniors did a prank.... But get this! They glued the locks!"
The fact how it's not $100 a lock they just wants the Seniors to pay extra😂
The dog in the ladies car is now famous
You know what a better prank is? Putting paper up in the hallways and steel sheets behind them so when kids try to run and break through they hit solid metal.
These kids are the real MVP
They glued the door locks. That's so fucking savage, props to the kids that thought of this
"Best senior Prank EVER! MUST WATCH, YOU WONT BELIEVE WHAT HAPPENS!" (gone wrong, gone sexual)
Sorry I know that joke is old, but I had to mention it.
Haha nice going guys. This was unintentionally hilarious.
i did this back in HS good times!
It makes me so happy that kids are still doing this we did something similar back in 04 😂👌🏻
My school had seniors pour oil on younger pupils, throw eggs, flour, and all sorts. This year, CRICKETS!! The crickets were hilarious.
That's hilarious, those seniors can tell their children about this and be like "When I was in high school me and my friend did the most savage thing ever"
Those locks better be diamond encrusted
Seniors don’t destroy or damage property do something like set up a slip n slide outside the school or place a shit ton of sticky note everywhere
The bigger crime was the locksmiths fee. What a rip off! Doesn’t the skool have a competent maintenance man that can install them?
