Thank you for a great video. I appreciate the extra tips and reason for them and the torque specs.
@@tomfromtacomas7249 thanks for the positive feedback!
Great Video, I like chasing the threads!!
Real quick, i have a 2007 RX400h, did timing belt and water pump, made sure it did not jump time (triple checked), runs great, no misfires no check engine light, but my maintenance light came on, do I need to reset the computer? Thanks
@@robthompson343 in Canada, there was no maintenance light on those models, but USA has the reminder. Yes, just reset it, it’s not timing belt related.
Thank you
I love the way you give torque specs on each bolt!
Thank you!
@@jaymetz9052 thanks Jay!
another superb video ... this is where your experience is really helpful, never see any of this in the workshop manual ... really useful tips from the professionals
Thanks for watching!!
Super helpful - most thorough vid for this work! Thanks!
Thank you for the positive feedback!
You are truly a Lexus god.
Thank you 😊
Someone who knows his craft and passionate about it and willing to share with us.@@Viktor_G_Automotive
Another great video. Your a life saver.
Thank you 🙏🏻
Your videos are awesome! easy to follow and to the point, I've done a few repairs on my Lexus with help from you 😊👍
Thanks for the positive feedback!
Thank you Viktor, outstanding as usual.
Thank you Chris!
Great expert tips and tutorial....thanks Viktor!
My pleasure!
Wish i watched this first! The swaybar boot was damaged when i used locking pliers on the back side of the link. I didn't need a torch but the threads were full of crud like you mentioned. Impact spun the way bar link on one side so i had to use a ratcheting box end to finish it carefully
Yeah, removing the sway bar link is often the most time consuming part of the job.
Hi Victor, thanks for always doing a great job in your videos.
Can you also do a video about the vacuum hose connection/diagram for Lexus rx350 (2010-15)
Will do if I get a chance, thanks!
Victor
Thank you for all the videos! Are you able to show us how to replace the rear trailing arm for 2017 RX350?
Will do if I get a chance, thanks!
Hi viktor
Thank you for all your informative videos!!
Do you have a how to install video for a Lexus Rx 350 2022 trailer hitch thank you
I do, but I have to edit it first before I can upload it, this may take some time. Thanks for watching!
Very interesting vid -- thanks!
So if an alignment is needed after this procedure and the (camber) specs are ways out, can an aftermarket cam bolt kit be used as an alternative to one of the OEM factory strut bolts -- what's your opinion on their use?
@@GladwindBestroff you could use a cam bolt kit, but it is extremely rare to have to use it. There is some wiggle room with the stock bolts usually to get camber in spec, unless something is bent in the suspension.
I just had alignment done. Initial: Left: -1.4 Right: -.08
They couldn't get enough movement with OEM bolt so used kit on Left side to match Right side.
Final: Left: -.08 Right: -.07
The shop didn't report any suspected damage.
There's been a lot of road work in my area. Vehicle is 2010 Rx with 122k kms.
My only concerns now -- is this new thinner cam bolt strong enough, and will it maintain adjustment 🤔
Nice video Viktor! What is your criteria for strut and shock replacement? Mileage, years or ride? Thanks, John PS; do you have the part numbers of the bolts and nuts used on teh rear shocks and the front sway bar?
Hi, I replace the shock if they are leaking, noisy or causing a rough ride. Unfortunately, I do not have the part numbers for the hardware, but any Lexus dealership parts department would be able to provide that for you. Cheers!
I had done exactly this but a mechanic helped me swap the spring and top mounts, however upon reinstalling now my front struts makes thump knocking sound at lower speed and certain holes/bumps. But no weird sound at all over big speed bump and high speed!
Hi Vinh, what brand struts did you install?
@@Viktor_G_Automotive KYB as well mate, im most suspecting the top strut mount might been transferred incorrectly as the mechanic didnt use the compressor machine but just manually with the claws bolt
@@Viktor_G_Automotive most obvious would be top nuts but it does not knock or make noise at all on really larage bump. so im scratching my head now, or could I had damaged the sway bar link upon taking it off n on
@@vinhnguyen4357 yes, that’s exactly the two areas I would suspect. Either the top mount was not lined up correctly during reinstallation or sway bar link is loose/worn or damaged (the only times I see those get damaged is when heat is used to remove the sway bar link nuts).
@@Viktor_G_Automotive my friend who helps me with installation tried to use the rattle gun for the swaybar linkage nut, it didnt work and i saw a bit of grease came out of the swaybar link boot. Im really hoping its not the top strut mount, cause doesnt it spin freely and im sure i have the bottom spring end sitting correctly on the strut base.
I have a 2017, is this install basically the same for this year.
@@jamesfelker5102 yes, very similar except the top mount nuts are a little bit harder to get to, the access holes are small.
Hi Viktor, can you post link for the parts of rear shocks and struts for 2013 Lexus RX 350? Many thanks
@@inax hi, this is my video for the rear shock replacement. It has the links to KYB rear shocks under it, which is the aftermarket brand I personally use. If you would like to buy factory OEM shocks, it is best to contact the dealership parts department with your VIN. Cheers! th-cam.com/video/SGL8b6kLOE8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=5PEyO-QyYmW17mTM
@ Many thanks! Cheers
Thanks for another great video. On average, how many km's are on the RX's when the struts need replacing?
If they are not leaking, they are usually good for 150-200K kilometres
Hello. I noticed that you didn't use a torque wrench when tightening the bottom strut bolts. How did you know they were torqued correctly? Also, are quick struts good? Did you get a wheel alignment after the repairs? Thanks for your help
I know how tight it needs to be from experience, but for DIY guys I would recommend using a torque wrench to be sure. For quick struts I would only use KYB. Yes, I would recommend a wheel alignment after strut replacement.
you seem to an expert on rx450h. do you have a video on how to remove and replace the top front dash? thanks!

@@Viktor_G_Automotive Thank you victor but as you know even one missed screw can get you stuck for hours. So I am a bit apprehensive about doing it withoput seeing a full video and I do not trust any mechanic to do this without breaking stuff.
@@Viktor_G_Automotive I have another question. I replaced the hybrid battery on this car that is RX450h after getting P0A80. I can't get rid of the permanet code P0A80. No code on the dash panel after 3 years and the car works fine. Any idea?
@@paulcamalin5236the 'permanent' code doesn't really matter, as long as it is not current/pending .
Hi victor. Great videos as always. 🎉 need some help and advice plz. I have a 17rx 350 f sport whit 55k miles on on it. Love my truck. But now when I went to the dealer do the oil. They told I have to repair the water pump. Should I fix it whit those miles or trade for another one?
I’d replace the water pump and keep driving it, those RXs are great vehicles.
Thanks for the feedback.
What could be the cause of multiple clicking noises from the front - it sounds more like a relay opening and closing, when hitting the acceleration or brakes at very low speed. If I switch to Neutral there’s no more clicking. It’s a 2011 RX 450H. I already replaced the struts. Thank you!!!
I’ve heard a noise similar to what you describe from worn out CV axles before.
@@Viktor_G_Automotive I appreciate your input. I will look into the CV axle.
Hey viktor I have a bulletproof lift tundra and seen you used to have a video on the uniballs. Would you have a link to buy the correct uniballs and maybe misalignment spacers? Thanks brother
I don’t remember where I bought them from, but the uniball is 2.125” OD, 1” ID and 1” height.
The misalignment spacers are 1” OD and 0.75” ID
Happy Holidays and thanks for the detail video. I have a question... I am planning to change the Front struts and lower ball bearing of the 2013 Lexus RX350. What is your recommend to replace in sequences as Front struts first then follow by lower ball bearing or which order is the best for this SUV?. Thank you so much.
It’s not very common for the ball joints to fail on these models, I’d start with the struts.
@@Viktor_G_Automotive Thanks, just wondering have you posted any video about lower ball joints replacement for 2013 Lexus RX350 that I can review?
@@tomn5413 I do not have a video of ball joint replacement at this time.
Thank you for the video
I have been having some clunking noise from front left suspension when going over uneven surface (manhole, potholes, and etc)
I replaced the sway bar link but the noise is still there. I jacked the car up and wiggle the tire to see if it is ball joint (there is no wiggle so I think it is not the ball joint).
I also checked sway bar from bottom and dont hear the same kind of noise so I am not sure if it is sway bar bushing…
Where else would you suggest me to look?
Thank you for your help in advance!!
Possibly needs a new strut.
Четко🎉
Thanks!
Hi. Can you do the brake booster replacement for 2010 rx350? Thanks
Will add it to my to-do list, thanks for the suggestion!
Hi Victor! I think I saw your video how to change transmission fluid in lexus rx350 f sport previously but it got deleted. I’ve got 15 f sport and have few questions , is there any chance I could contact you? Appreciate you work and detailed videos!
Hi, thank you for the feedback! The best way to contact me is to comment on here. I will be re-uploading the 2013-2015 RX F-sport transmission video in the future, but in the meanwhile, you can instead follow the 2016-2022 RX350 fluid video as those vehicles share the same 8-speed transmission: th-cam.com/video/vaTORM3T24s/w-d-xo.html
@@Viktor_G_Automotive thank you! Did transmission service already👍will be following your channel, probably the most helpful and detailed videos I found, especially for newer vehicles
Ну ты даешь Виктор 😂
Вот так даю 😁
Victor what is the ride quality on these. Is it close to OEM? I have 74k on my 2010 rx350 and i want it back to oem
The KYB ride great!
Viktor, I didn't see another way to contact you...
Is there ANY WAY you could film the replacement of the washer pumps in a 200 series Land Cruiser / LX570? This looks daunting to me... Please....
I don’t have access to one of those vehicles right now. If you are in Alberta, Canada, I could probably make it happen 🙂
👍👍👍👍

Hi Victor.
I need u help , I swaped alternator on my lexus rx350 2011.
I can't start engine, after I scanned computer I got P0355 .
it says issue with camshaft or crankshaft, I watched a lot of videos no idea with whichh sensor I have issue, .
new Alternator is denzo remanafactured.
I need u really help Man pls and thx.
If the issue was not there before you replaced the alternator and only started immediately after you worked on the vehicle, I would suspect that something was either damaged during the repair process or a connector was left unplugged etc.
I can’t see a sensor failing exactly at the same time, too much coincidence.
Hi Viktor I need to contact you. I need help with my 2017 Rx. How can I contact you?
Hi, you can message on here and I will try to answer if your question is fairly straightforward.
If the issue is more involved though, you’d have to take it in for diagnosis.
@@Viktor_G_Automotive my 2017 rx had some work done to change the rear engine seal. After the work was done and the engine and transmission put back in, the engine start stop feature to save gas in traffic etc. won’t work. Do you have any insights that could cause this? All of the connections to the engine were double checked. Battery?
@@ashwinbo the start/stop feature is not available on 2016-2022 RX models in Canada, so unfortunately I have no experience with it whatsoever.
I would start by scanning for codes with a good quality scan tool and diagnose accordingly.
If no codes in any system, an initialization procedure may possibly need to be performed for the start/stop system.
Or maybe you know from your own experience what may be the cause of the creaking sound on the left rear, but only on speed bumps? These are definitely not rear stabilizer bar rubbers. The car is Lexus Rx450h from 2013☺️
I’d check the Rear shock and rear trailing arm.
Na mate you just made a fearly easy job very complicated I have a rx450h I av done and it’s not so hard to take drop link off I hit take two minutes your just scaring folks out there
I am glad that in your particular case it went easy, often times it doesn’t.
I’ve replaced literally hundreds of struts on these models and sometimes you have to really fight with them.
