One thing I love is listening to Liam talk at an emotional depth about this stuff. I love the lighter stuff like Travis, Matt and Marisha trying not to sing along to epic hits too, but there's a thoughtfulness to how Liam talks about this stuff that I absolutely crave

I appreciate how the CR cast continue to emphasize how important it is to them to inspire people to start (or return to) playing TTRPGs. A lot of us have made friends through this fandom in general, too.
I've literally just gotten into my first campaign with some colleagues after discovering the show and d&d for myself - I always knew about it, and had some friends who played it and also LARPed etc as a teen, but they always described the whole community as seemingly very gate-keeping and also not particularly open to newbie women and girls, which had always deterred me in the past. I'm really happy I found a group I feel comfortable with now, can't wait to see how long we manage to keep our rag tag group of misfits-campaign alive 🤣

I agree, but I think Laura keeps the group together a bit more.
English is not my first language... And with little children in the house I have to see everything in spanish... But when I stumble across critical role one day and discover they were voice actors the first one I recognized was Liam. Because the only content I could watch in english were some video games... Final fantasy to be specific... His relationships with Sam and Laura in and out of character are one of my favorites things in the show.
@@jonathandefoy6376 can we not just talk about and appreciate another member of the cast for a change without having to praise Laura?! That and you're completely wrong, Laura sucks all the attention away from everyone else. It's annoying
@@Ailieorz Liam is kind of annoying and if we are talking about a cast member who does not get enough attention it has to be Travis. also I like Laura because of how much of a caring and sweet friend she is to the rest the cast.

I distinctly remember that moment when they found Villias(Keyleths moms) severed leg at the bottom of the sea. Marisha´s immediate reactions was: "That means that she is still alive!!!" She was just wounded & escaped!!!". Something along those lines.
Everybody looking at her like: "Ok keyleth/Marisha come down now. Your mother is dead. We at Lvl 17-18 at that point barely survived. Villia is dead...Though Marisha was right & when it was revealed to the Mighty Nine it was the chat that figured it out, not the players.
More of this greatness please.
I randomly started watching Vox Machina last year and loved season 1 and was stoked to see that season 2 was a few months away. Just got done watching season 2, but now I'm ready for season 3....but then the good ol youtube algorithm showed me a thumbnail from geek and sundry...campaign 1: Vox Machina. I had no idea what Critical Role was going into Vox Machina and that now I have SO MANY episodes to go back and watch and love these characters more. I'm only 22 episodes in through Campaign 1, but I want to listen to C2 before the Mighty Nein show starts up. Better late than never, but I'm feel like I'm officially a Critter now

This is a great interview, I love the storytelling of the animation.
Love this man. First time I watched Critical Role I stuck around mostly listening to his voice, trying to figure out who he voiced that sounded so similar. When I finally figured out he voiced WoWs Illidan Storm rage I lost it.
Illidan is one of my top 5 favorite characters of Warcraft. You nailed it Liam!

Liam seems like such a lovely human :) It must be so surreal for them all, this behemoth that CR has become. I love that they're so generous sharing their stories with us.
In and out of character Liam always damn near makes me cry when he talks about things so sincerely. Stop punching me in the feels, stinky wizard man :p (Never stop).
I love Vax - he is such a great character. He and Vex are awesome and Liam and Laura play them perfectly. Can't wait for Season 3 of Vox and omg The Mighty Nein is getting a show?? gonna be epic!

I really really really hope they work in Scanlan's Magnificent Mansion... or at least refigure some of the moments that took place in there into places like Castle Whitestone. There we're quite a few excellent character moments that place inside that construct that would be soooorely missed if not included.
I am fairly sure we saw a key to his sick house in S2E12.
It'd be cool if as one of easter eggs in Magnificent Mansion they had made a quick glimpse on the Critrole-like table with a DM screen and paper sheets ready with characters. Just you know, in honor to CritRole and in honor to Grog as DM one shot.

I think that's true. I think TLOVM could've used a little more breathing room too, but it can do what it does without it. The M9 NEED room to breathe because their story is a little more emotionally driven than plot driven.
Most of the breathing room is needed to send messages.

It's so funny that before the game even started years ago, both Sam and Travis had little to no knowledge or desire to play DnD but got convinced by their life partners, Liam and Laura respectively, to play with a group with people that they knew of but weren't really friends or anything. Now those two goofballs are helming the writing of the animated series for that campaign and the group of players are literally a family who would die for each other at the drop of a hat (in game and out).

I would love to see Bathtub Shenanigans in the animated series, but I don't think it would be plausible within story time limits that is there. How fortunate the world is that this particular group of friends found their way into the empire they are creating.
I dunno. The Bathtub Incident could easily just happen in the Mansion, and with the key Scanlan found last season I'm pretty positive that we're getting the Mansion, so they can really slot it in anytime. That has to be one of the scenes that everyone on the cast wants to be in the show ;)

The bathtub shenanigans can be worked in because the point of the scene, that Laura totally stole the spotlight from, was so Vax could formally forgive Percy and provide his blessing for Percy's relationship with Vex.
I mean if they dont have the money for the other seasons just do another crowdfunding, with all the new critters it could help a lot ^^

I honestly wish they would NOT adapt things when going to the screen. I mean I know they have to do things to condense and frame the story for the new medium, but one of the pure joys of the stories that develop out of the actual gameplay is the chaotic nature of it which you lose when you craft that with hindsight into an adapted story.
Does that make it so you don't enjoy the adaptation? Just in general really curious

I always felt bad for how much crap Liam's characters get from the table. He's so incredibly patient, anyone else would have gotten upset at others imposing traits on their characters, especially the ones doing the imposing

It is not pleasent, it could very upsat a player and it is plain bad player etiquette.... But Liam is the leas prideful most yes and person I have ever witnessed so he just roles with it and laughs. Your character is supposed to be your powerfantasy not a way for others to make fun of you.

Dude Marvel movies with all that money have Terrrrrible animation. It was servicible and better in S 2
I don't like 3D animation, and I'd rather they had kept it all in the same style but... it was fine. The models and textures were good, the rigging seemed decent.
