Totally agreed - I get the sence (especially since he was total improv) that Victor was designed specifically to provide this wonderful banter with Percy, and because Matt knows both Taliesin and Percy so well it was perfect!

@@9564232328 well... true resurrection is a spell that exists... long as his soul is fine and willing, and anyone sees fit to attempt it anyways. it could happen. then there's also possible acts of god that could happen, like if one deemed his actions worthy enough to grant him some more time on the mortal plane etc. usually unless the target is unwilling (or the soul is trapped somewhere and unable etc) or the soul was somehow destroyed completely, there's always a way and a chance. :)
I was on a quiet train in Tokyo when I first saw Victor. And I lost it. Needless to say everyone looked at me like I was crazy, but I didn’t care. Victor is the greatest NPC ever.

Of all of Matt’s sparkling moments of genius, Victor, in my opinion is his brightest. Magnificently envisioned, beautifully adorning the storyline for his group, perfectly fitting in the jigsaw of time and place. Glorious DMing.
Despite him barely showing up throughout C1 Viktor is still my favorite NPC across all 3 campaigns, the first ep he showed up in I was waiting for a flight and Matt's delivery just made me lose it right then and there, nearly everybody at the gate turned to look at me like I was insane, suffice to say I didn't give a dam it was still... totally worth it. And even tho he is technically canonically dead now he will never die to me, RIP you insane explosive bastard.

FOR MY SCCHHHHHYLENSCH"

It's interesting that when you listen to Matt first saying his name, it honestly sounds more like Vincent than Viktor. Lines up with when Matt has talked about how he wasn't even sure what name he gave he was so in the moment.
Best npc through all campaigns. It baffles me that people say Henry crabgrass is better. The moorbounder goblin from campaign 2 is a close second and can't forget Madame Musk.

Well get that credit card ready because the meeting Victor scene was in one of the early Episodes of season 2 which released earlier this year, so hopefully they go back to visit again 😉
