Great watch. I bought mine in 2012 and now in early 2023 it's going strong. It's been in deep waters, high altitudes, extreme heat (living in Texas for the watch's full life and visiting Israel in the summer during that time) and cold (sub-10-degree for extended periods). I've dropped it in paint, mud, the ocean, and stuck it in piles of rocks while digging. Essentially worn it night and day for 10 years now almost 24/7 to the point where I have the craziest farmer's tan on my wrist and all of the hair there has long been rubbed off. Broke the band once, but the watch still looks great and functions perfectly. I'm looking into different watches for a "change in scenery," but it's hard to justify when this thing is such a tank to this day.
Just got the gray version of this watch today. Excited. I had the Casio AB watch (no compass) around 12 years ago and she is still ticking after a battery change. Got the Suunto Core as a swap out, but it died just after 4 years. I hope this new Casio I got will last me another decade, like her older AB counterpart.
Just ordered myself the 270 today after a week of diving into what my needs or wants would be from a watch and researching my options. Bang for your buck I thought this would give me the same things I want in the higher priced watches such as the rangeman 9400 or the prw 3500. The simplicity of this watch for the price I hope does me well. Will always regret not getting a rotating bezel but it wasnt a deal breaker for my first off grid watch. I appreciate your reviews. I'm currently looking into a "multi purpose" watch that isn't too bulky and not too tactical looking. That criteria is guiding me towards the Casio PRW 50T-7A. It has great features; triple sensor, radio reciever for atomic time, water resistant to 100m, solar, and a Titanium bracelet that's also easy to swap out. One down side is no Sapphire Crystal, but that also allows for a more affordable watch. Watches with Sapphire Crystals are quite more expensive. This one is about $400 dollars. I'm going to shop around for the best deal. I'm a big fan of Citizen but the triple sensor type watches they offer have busy dials and bezels that I think are gimmicky. I wish they offered simpler designs. Take care and be good! ✌👍

All subscribed brother. My watch collection started 15 years ago when a random watch in a shop dropped his right on my shoe and I’ve booted it into a window LOL I know ! It was a Diesel watch I’ve bought it from the man and still have. I’ve also GShocks and 2 months ago bought the SGW-1000 after desperately searching for a adequate ABC watch not the showy 24 hour battery of today’s thats also cost one hundreds. I’ve also discovered PRG Protrek but being more expensive I’ve decided I will buy later when I’ll hopefully recover from Covid19 aftermath. This PRG has a better resistance than my regular Casio ABC being a Protrek also though solar mine has 2 year battery and yours has few other bells and whistles on top. Love how accurate are I’m monitoring mine versus a professional weather station and it’s on point. I’m planning soon a 10 hour drive and hike in North England Hadrian Wall Si cannot wait. I absolutely love the wear and tear on yours it’s like a nice worn comfy boot. Keep safe mate.
This was my first of the protreks, orange color. My latest protrek since a week ago was the wsd f20 trying the smart protrek now it's price has gone down from $500 three years ago to $149 now on Amazon.

Bro, I have the same model bought about 5 yrs ago. Some problems that I need solution on 1) Watch was kept in a closet for over 2 yrs. Took it out & kept in under sunlight got over 3-4 days before it started functioning. The battery indicator shows as LOW. The backlight won't turn ON, neither can I hear the beep sound when buttons are pressed. Leave alone the LED Auto turn ON function. Pl advise what should I do next. I have mine showing LOW on battery. A
Unfortunately the light does not stay on when changing modes. You have to manually press the light button. I believe you can set the light to last for 1 second or 3 seconds at a time. Thanks for watching!

Hey I’ve got a question for you, I have the exact same watch and I absolutely love it. But recently I’ve been noticing my barometer will not stay accurate!! Do you have any idea how to fix it. I’ve cleaned the censors and blown it out with air. It still will not hold a accurate number?????

This could be possible but I believe eventually the rechargable battery or capacitor would quit functioning.
