    March 2024... After years and years of different smartwatch and automatic analogic watches I've switched back to Casio again, and never been so happy about a watch, it's indestructible, it's always there for you and precise , and have tons of functions!
    Your videos (part one and two) about this watch should be mentioned on the user manual, you did an amazing job, English is not my first language but I never seen a tutorial about a watch so clear and complete, you deserve five star.
    I will subscribe to your channel just because of the amazing work you did .you deserve a huge thank you bro.
    Have a great future

    I've watched a half dozen of these videos - most of which had either wrong information or were gibberish. One dude said the REC mode was to receive satellite data. Yours was excellent and answered all my questions, even answered questions I haven't even asked yet. I agree that Casio should be paying you.

    Having this watch for 8 months and this is a fantastic watch. It is worth every money spent. This watch along with a Topo is more than sufficient to go for a hike, even in an unknown trail. However, I miss the Moon Phase and Tide functionality :(

    Excellent review. I just pick one of these up and they are awesome. As a meteorologist it's fun to play with. My only complaint is that the beep or alarm sound is BARELY audible! It's worthless for using the alarm function. I have several Casio watches and this seems to be a common problem with most of them. Have you ever figured out a way to increase the volume? Perhaps trying different springs that go between the circuit board and back? Very disappointing for what you pay for these. You'd think Casio would have solved this issue of the many years of it happening.

  • @blackeyesforyou
    @blackeyesforyou 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have this watch on its way as I type. Because of your tutorial, I'll be ready when it arrives. You got me thinking. If the thermometer is adjustable, could I not just match the temp while it's on my wrist? The body regulates its temperature fairly well. In other words, the temp would be wrong when taken off the wrist in this case.

    • @niranjanjt
      @niranjanjt 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I did exactly what you said. Calibrated it while it was on my wrist. That way, the watch reads environmental temperature and not body temperature.

    • @niranjanjt
      @niranjanjt 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      But yes. The temperature reading when the watch is off wrist will not be accurate.

    • @blackeyesforyou
      @blackeyesforyou 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@niranjanjt I've had the watch for awhile now and other than when my arm is real sweaty, the temperature is fairly accurate. I'm using a digital thermometer in my room to a tenth of a degree. I'd rather calibrate where it spends the most time.

    These videos have been helpful. Let me ask a question in regards to altimeter. If I want see level (I am using feet), do I just stand near water and set it to about 5ft? Is that how I calibrate it?

    • @WatchGeek
      @WatchGeek  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Theoretically you can do it like that , if you are at sea. But I just use elevation information of places I know, I know elevation of where I live is 130m so I just put that. Or if I am going for a hike, I use the map. When you are near a big body of water, air pressure can act weird so the altimeter might move around even while you are standing

    • @planetdee3587
      @planetdee3587 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@WatchGeek , and once I set it, it should now read correctly in all other areas? Like if I calibrate it to see level like I stated, then it should work correctly where ever I go?

    Hi I’m looking to buy either the 270 or 2500 to take on mountain expeditions, so a good CBA would be really useful, but really unsure which one is better & more practical in its functions for this exact use?! I’ve watched both videos, & there are pros & cons to both, so not sure which one would be most useful to me?? Do you have any recommendations on what you think would be most suitable? Thanks

    • @WatchGeek
      @WatchGeek  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I like the screen and style of the 2500 more, but if you want pure functionality, the 270 is better as it uses the new generation of sensors that are more accurate, faster, and measure longer.
      2500 can detect a change in altitude of 10m, while the 270 can detect down to a single meter. So of you're going to use it for climbing, the 270 is a clear winner

    Can the temperature be calibrated while the watch is on to reflect correct temperature while wearing it?

    • @WatchGeek
      @WatchGeek  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Some claim it can, but to me it makes no sense, regardless of how you calibrate, the fact remains that if you keep the watch on your wrist it will get heated by your wrist meaning any change in the outside temperature will be read wrong

  • @michaelledger7851
    @michaelledger7851 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    I travel from my city into the mountains sometimes 5,000 feet higher than the city. to get accurate baro measurements while in the mountains, can I simply adjust the altitude manually once in the mountains and the baro will reset and start reading for weather accurately?

    • @WatchGeek
      @WatchGeek  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Baro is always accurate, you really have mess the watch up to mess up baro, altimeter is the one that requires constant adjusting.
      So if you're interested in weather alarm just turn it off, you don't have to touch the baro as it reacts to sudden changes, so unless you are flying up the mountain OT should register it

    Hello again! My watch is having scattered dots on the barometer graph. Is it normal? I live on the 3rd floor, and I work at the 15th floor. Is it the cause of the scattered or the inconsistent barometer graph dots in my watch?
    Also, there are some lacking dots in my barometer. Its like a dash line.
    Your reply is highly appreciated! Thanks in advance ;)

    • @WatchGeek
      @WatchGeek  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Spencer Arsenal it could be that because of such a high difference in altitude you watch shows a great difference in pressure, when the dots are missing that means they are out of the scale of the graph, since one dot is one hPa.
