Honestly I would argue it's worth throwing another $200 or so at the PC hardware is a fair comparison... but remember, you are paying up front on a PC... that console will charge you that extra cash over time in the form of online fees. $10 a month minimum adds up.

I agree, I think around $750 would get you a PC pretty close but that's starting from zero and there is an upfront cost. But going forward you can reuse the case, power supply, storage drives, etc.

Had a series x for a little while and by all means if you are strictly about gaming only its unlikely to build a pc around the same price to performance especially since you can find used consoles for less than 300 bucks now. However after building my pc I see the almost limitless bounds that you can do with one. Ryzen 5 5600 with rx6800 i have no issues playing any game at or above console settings as well as the crazy amount of other things i can do as well. Its an investment overall.

A way to fix the issue at 12:08 is to either have a controller plugged in or before you start up Fortnite turn off the controller and start up Fortnite with the keyboard connected to the Xbox (pressing enter or space on the app). As a lifelong console player who just recently got my first PC capable of gaming the #1 reason for PC Gaming is MODS!!! The amount of cool stuff available for games like GTA, RDR2 and many many others makes it worth getting a PC alone. I didn't realize how much I was missing out on until I found out about 5M, LSPDFR and other mods that just makes games more fun especially after you've played them for awhile. I tried reading the comments, but there were a bunch on inaccuracies.
If the point of this video is to honestly compare and not just try to trash consoles, then these things need to be addressed.
    1. Free 2 Play titles do not need a subscription to play. If you only play Esports titles, then the console is a very attractive place to play.
    2. Most titles (including the ones in this video) have optimization options for performance over graphics (just like pc, although capped at 120). There are a lot of games locked to 30fps on the console (this PC could not play) that a higher end PC could run at 60 or 120 fps.
    3. There is an FPS counter in the Fornite settings (not sure about Warzone).
    4. Game pass core (replaced Xbox Live Gold) is $10 a month, which is the retail cost of a newer game and includes a rotating list of 25 popular titles and online mutiplayer. Gamepass for PC is $11 a month and includes a few hundred games, and all Xbox first party games (Xbox Studios, Bethesda, Activision, and Blizzard)drop day one on Gamepass for no addional charge. Triple A titles can cost $60 or $70 a piece on launch. Gamepass Ultimate includes both of those subscriptions with the same benefits plus a Perks rewards (free add ons for a few rotating games, deals on Discord Nitro, Apple Music/TV, TH-cam, etc). For $20 a month. Its not just online pay to play. There is real value here.
    5. Backward compatibility. The Series X/S plays every Xbox One title except for Kinect titles due to dropped support. It plays every 360 and OG Xbox title that the Xbox One did as well. But, the number of games it can play pales in comparison to PC when considering the PC can play mostly anything.
    6. Mod support. Few Xbox games contain support for mods. Those that do have a very narrow amount when compared to the PC. I have played a ton of Skyrim on console. When the mod support came, it was fantastic! Then i would notice a really cool mod online and would try to download it only to find it was PC only.
    7. Exclusivity. Since this is an Xbox to PC comparison, I will leave out Playstation and Nintendo. Unless it is an older title or 3rd party, there are no Xbox console exclusives. Every new Xbox Studios game comes to PC day one.
    8. Grand Theft Auto 6. The last point I will make is that GTA6 does not have a launch date for PC. It will remain on consoles for an extended period. This will be the biggest game release in quite a while. If you are a GTA fan, this will be enough to entice you to buy a console.
I hope this was informative to someone. I really liked the video! Thank you for making it Toasty Bros.!

@zach4182 "upgrade path" is essentially supported chipset and high capacity power supply. At $500 you're not getting a newer chipset, so unless you consider older parts and low power draw components an upgrade, there isn't an upgrade path. Which would be valid. But to me, AM5 has a true upgrade path because it will be supported in the future. But if you're describing something like starting with an R5 3600 with the intention to get a 5800X3D, then I would concede that you technically have an upgrade path.

There’s always these comparisons of equally-priced PCs and consoles, but it’s worth remembering that most console players will still need to buy a PC anyways for other productivity stuff. So if you’d pay $500 for the console and even just $400 for a cheap PC, you can get a good gaming PC for the same $900 as the other two together. It’ll hold up well against the console and be a much better computer for the other stuff than any $400 PC would have been.

6700 is the equivalent gpu to the ps5, and 6700xt is pretty much equivalent to the Xbox series X. The 6700 is unavailable in my area, the 6700xt is $299, and the 6750xt is $329. That's why i went with the 6800 for $380. I run native 4k high with a ryzen 7 5800, get 70-100fps. I have a total of $950 in my build after selling the old graphics card. But having said all that, I bought my son and Xbox series x and run his on a 4k tv, and when I play warzone on the Xbox, it's pretty hard to tell a difference. If you took the fps counter away and just played, you'd be puzzled.

The only game I can't get to stay at a locked frame rate is warzone, in Fortnite you set a fps limit and it rarely goes above it and even rare drops. But most games you just set it to 144 or 120 if it's dropping at 240 or 165 and it will only move while loading into games.

Xbox game files are up to 50% smaller than their PC counterparts. PCs have to be much more powerful as a result. It's a bit like comparing apples to oranges Or High quality graphics to Budget quality graphics. Or, you get what you paid for.

    • @Godslayerjeff

Wtf are u talking abt, the reason is because xbox has much less quality and it's much more bitcrunched than pc games like cyberpunk, you can search it up if you don't believe me. Pc's are just better in every way and we can go online without paying $70 a year which amounts to an extra $420 for 6 years of active use of a new console and much likely a ton more than that number because people don't just buy the newest console any time it comes out. Also a pc worth $1,000 is much better value than what we would get with a xbox or Playstation because its not just gaming as we can do other stuff like study and multitask.

I have both a PS5 and a PC but I use them for different things.
On my PS5 I have usually turn based rpg's like Persona 5, Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth as well as the rest of the Like a Dragon games, and certain exclusives like Gran Turismo 7, Shadow of the Colossus (my favorite game of all time), and Demons Souls Remake. The PS5 is hooked up to a 4K 44 inch TV.
My PC has other games like ones you can heavily mod like Skyrim, Cylerpunk 2077 and so on. I also play certain competetive games like Rainbow Six Siege, which benefits greatly from hight framerates and refresh rate. Other games I play on PC are Elden Ring, Dark Souls 3, Black Ops 3 (Modded zombies maps with friends is so much fun), Clone Hero, Warframe, and other miscellaneous games only available on PC storefronts. My main monitor is 27 inches 1440p resolution, 240Hz refresh rate.

I played console only for decades, but always personally enjoyed the Keyboard and Mouse. Now as for being able to just boot up games and play whatever, you're going to 100% be able to do that with 99.9% of the games you load on console, for PC, it's a good 40% because games now and days are BIG and you will only have like 4-5 games at a time that you can play (if you play modern games). I would suggest getting both since I love being able to use apps like Discord, OBS, VoiceMod, and emiuators such as Bluestacks and various console ones. If you're someone who just wants to play games after work, get a console, 100%.

Advantages include no extra fees just to have the ability to game online, better deals on games, more versaitlity (can be used as a work PC), aesthetics are customizable, and most importantly: it has an upgrade path. The only advantage that consoles provide is that they are more affordable upfront.
