      The concept album is not going to be as easy to do now that songs are downloaded individually, though radio stations have always played just a few songs per album. I agree we're probably never going to see something produced which compares well with Pink Floyd.

      @@floridaphil3394 Tool is good. But, with all due respect, Pink Floyd is in a class by itself. There is really no comparison. "The dark side of the moon" was released in 1973 and still ranks as one of the top albums of all time almost forty years later. I hope Tool can reach the same milestone with their work.

      @@Io-Io-Io I'm kidding, You can do wtv you want. For me tho, that album, just like Wish You Were Here, Animals and The Wall, is a concept album. Each songs are connected to each others and it's better, from my point of view, to listen to them in order, to fully appreciate it. You get it!
    Above all else, Pink Floyd's music has this eerie ability to draw emotion and thoughts up from your subconscious. These will be as unique for each person as their fingerprints. It is this 'personal' nature of the band's music that makes it so special for so many people.
    Great reaction! Send more Pink Floyd!

    Consider the album, "The Wall" is a book and every song contained in it is just a section, or chapter of the story. Listening to these songs individually is like watching a TV mini series out of order. Very hard to see the continuity of the story as a whole. GOOD LUCK!

    • @ooloncolluphid360
      @ooloncolluphid360 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Agree. Life changes the day you listen to the wall the old fashioned way - end to end on a beanbag with headphones in a dark room.... baked. That realisation that the whole is so much greater than the sum of its parts and you start a lifelong journey of trying to unpack the thing.
      I swear I have listened to it a quite a few hundred times and more or less know it by heart yet hidden layers are still clicking for me 30 years later.
      It's truly one of the greatest rock operas of all time.

      I was gonna say something similar...she is missing out by only listening to individual songs out of order.
      True...she is "reacting" to individual songs, so there is that and it can't be helped. But Girl, when you get the chance you should sit down, put on your headphones and listen to the entire album in one sitting. React to ALL the songs individually first if you have to, but you are missing out otherwise!

    I respect the fact that as someone who hasn't grown up with Pink Floyd you've been open-minded enough to listen to multiple tracks, they're not a band you can fully 'get' by listening to just one song, their back catalogue is very varied and many of the songs are rather complex. To get the full impact of the songs on The Wall album it is worth listening to it from start to finish, even if you do it just once, because it's like watching a film - the emotion builds to a finale. It's not a comfortable experience but it's the only way to properly appreciate what is essentially a work of art.

    I'd also like to suggest you take a look at Nightwish - a Symphonic Metal band from Finland. They are the first band in a long time that I would put in the same class as Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin and other bands from my youth. please react to Pink floyd - High hopes. This song will pull your soul out like Hey You. Nightwish covered High Hopes too and It's great as well. I'd say You can make a comparison video about those two versions.

    Hi, I'm new to your channel and enjoying the Floyd stuff. I'd like to give you a list of the classics and hopefully you'll manage to do some of them. Comfortably Numb. One Of My Turns. Time. The Great Gig In The Sky. Us and Them. Brain Damage/Eclipse. Shine On You Crazy Diamond parts I - V. Shine On You Crazy Diamond parts VI - IX. Dogs. Echoes (studio version). And my 2 favourite songs which are not classics, Atom Heart Mother and Fat Old Sun. I hope you'll find the time to do some of these and I recommend starting with Comfortably Numb or Time, Great Gig In The Sky has one of the best vocal pieces of all time so you should try to get to that early as well. Also some less classic but still worth a listen songs. Summer 68, Remember A Day, Julia Dream, Cirrus Minor, Fearless, Pigs(Three Different Ones), Two Suns In The Sunset. From the Syd Barrett era, which is totally different and more fairytale esque than the later Floyd, Astronomy domine, Lucifer Sam, Matilda Mother, Flaming, The Gnome, Arnold Layne, See Emily Play. I really hope you manage some of these.

    I'm so happy you're getting into Pink Floyd they are amazing bands I know this is a a while ago you make this video it's not a criticism why you're right in sandnes psychedelic they classed as progressive rock or prog rock for short now you're reading about what the song meant but pink is a fictional character made by Roger Waters it's an actual deeper reason why he made the Wall Part of it is to do with his discombobulation of 12 the better word with the music industry or and the fans playing big stadiums of not what he wanted he like smaller stadiums because he turned you tend to lose everyone at the back of the stadiums and it means nothing I'm not very good at explaining it but if you can find a TH-cam video I think it's called the making of Pink Floyd The Wall by someone called progressive vinyl or progressive rock one of the two explains it a lot better than me and if you're interested it's worth a watch because it's incredibly well written and researched sorry if my writing and spelling is terrible I'm dyslexic all the best thank you for your video

    Choose the "blue pill" listen to other bands and carry on as you are, OR, take the "red pill".... listen to the album "Dark Side of the Moon" in track order , but make sure you buckle up your seat Dorethy, Kansas is about to go bye bye and you will catch a glimpse of how deep the Floyd rabbit hole goes😂😂😂
    For reference DSotM sold well over 45,000,000 units and charted for somewhere over 18 years! (not too shabby)
    Heads up, each track transitions into the next (hence doing it in track order)
    Track 1 is a really short intro into 2 and the album.
    And BTW I'm sure there's at least 4k potential subs who are Floyd fans just waiting to hit that button!!!

    Reaction channels are a dime a dozen these days, and most of them have the feel that they are just phoning in the reactions. Yours doesn't make me feel that way at all. The couple of videos I have watched feel genuine and you did your homework on the band and the song. Love it! You've got my sub and I look forward to being along for this ride now. If you keep up the quality of these reactions like this one, you can't help but have a successful channel here because you're doing a great job with it. Bravo

    Why don't you try the song Atom Heart Mother by Pink Floyd, there's only a few reactions out there of this masterpiece. Salutations from Brazil.

    • @fordprefect9296
      @fordprefect9296 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Agreed. A masterpiece. Although it may put her off Floyd, once and for all... I suggest listening to 'Astronomy Dominé', 'Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun' first. Perhaps even 'Saucerful Of Secrets'.

    They can take the wisdom teeth out of the girl but they can't take the wisdom. Nice reaction and interpretation. As far as your swelling goes I didn't notice because I haven't gotten past those blue eyes yet. Hope you feel better! Oh and listen to "Mother" from The Wall when you get a chance.

    How about Saucer full of secrets from the umagumma album or, Atom Heart Mother or, Echoes from Meddle. That's like listening to the likes of Mozart, Bach or Beethoven.
