Here in the Upstate, we have a lot of clay - but our apple trees seem to be doing pretty well... I wasn't expecting them to actually 🤣 I love pears, think we'll look into those next!
We planted 3 at our old house and when we go by there the two that survived are loaded. Hoping these do well too. (Our first time with the Asian Giant Olympic.)
Hello, enjoyed all your knowledge on your fruit trees. We planted fruit trees a couple years back and sadly we really haven’t done anything with them. This year was the first time we got fruit from a pear tree. I need to do better with them for sure! I saw on Josh’s channel homestead overland that you plan on going to HOA, we’ll be there too maybe we’ll run in to each other. Have a safe trip, lisa@moneypit homestead
I am guessing you got these on clearance back then haha. We bought are old school discount tree shoppers right?? I see you were talking about the deer back then. You still got to get them white peaches planted. I don't recall if you have any now?
Appreciate you asking! We have one disfigured fruit this year on the Asian. (We left it on, but don’t know if it’ll actually ripen.)Hopefully we’ll have a good crop next year. (Need to do a better job of making limbs run horizontally.) We also grafted a Bradford with edible pears this year. It’s taken off and I bet week have some fruit next year.
Glad it was useful. We also grafted a Bradford pear with fruiting pear scions this spring. Hoping to highlight the results soon. (Much stronger growth than the potted plants highlighted in this video.)
Love fruit trees 🌲
We do too! Thanks for watching!

Never did get white peaches planted. These actually came from the jockey lot, like those first muscadines. Hope to have done fruit this year!

i've been told the graph should face the north.....so the sun doesn't shine on it...
Could that be zone dependent? I’ve never really had any sun scald here in Upstate, SC zone 8a.
Please give me a sticks
Scions? Where are you located?
I have a few left in the fridge.
I am from India
Unfortunately I can’t ship internationally. Good luck finding some locally. Thanks for watching!
I am in Michigan, can you please send sticks for Asian pears?
