There's no doubt that Wiktoria is a great singer, but I've always found her voice somewhat detached from Moana/Vaiana and sometimes forced... However, Sweden to this day still remains one of my favourite dubs! Another surprise came when you ranked Danish as 1st place. I was overjoyed! I (being danish) ofc is biased, but I agree with you that Clara just is Vaiana! She's an amazing singer and a powerhouse (just like Maria Lucia, who's my fave danish singer) and the first time I saw the movie, I was 100% convinced that it was Vaiana/Moana singing! I must say that I have almost forgotten the most of the voices, even less where my preferring used to lay in some of them, except the classic favourites, like Russian, Finnish, Bulgarian, Vietnamese, etc which remain favourites. YES! CLARA RUGAARD! After I watched the Disney Channel Latin American Series “Violetta” in English I loved her voice! And then I found out she was Moana in Danish! Too bad she hasn’t done much but her singing is amazing!

I really liked your ranking. I must admit that many of the voices that I love with my soul are very low for me xD (Latin Spanish, Portuguese (BR), Thai ...) and your number 1 I don't think is one of the best voices either, but of course, each one has a different opinion. With all due respect, while I completely agree with your words mentioned in the description (They truly did Laura dirty), I must admit her exclusion was really not your best choice. Not that I find it discriminative, but as one of the very few legal Albanian dubs with songs dubbed (with Frozen), it _IS_ part of the family, like other TV dubs that you have included. I'd love to see it being treated like the rest of the dubs. Albanian dubs are _not_ on the same level with Persian dubs, simply a plain fact. Just a last place with a respectful comment would be totally fine with me!! Aaah now about the ranking; Otherwise, it's splendid just like every other one you've made. I truly missed a good ranking now that the community's become more inactive than ever :/ Your perspective though, it's definitely unique lol. I LOVE IT. The commentary? Top-notch. I knew excluding Albanian wouldn't have been a choice many would agree with...but let me go further into it. The fact that the two excluded languages are Albanian and Persian does not mean that they are either on the same level or in the same situation, because they quite clearly aren't. To make an example, I made a similar choice for my Jack Skellington ranking, where I left out (together with Persian) also the oldest Brazilian dubbing, which was only released on VHS and any available audio has the quality you would expect of a poorly recorded VHS. I could hardly tell where the noises ended and where his voice began, so, considering there are two more Brazilian dubs available in HQ, I left that one out. It is true that here, the Bengali audio has similar issues, but while that version was at its...3rd attempt (?) of mixing an audio, I thought I could include it nonetheless, because we're not sure how many more of them we'll get to hear (and Shruti received a proper evaluation for her other version)...on the other hand, we've got plenty of Albanian dubs to pick from, and they're all given the same, poor mixing. The one difference with Frozen is that LIG was mixed 3 times, and in the end, I could actually have a proper listen to Antonela's actual voice, even though the rest of songs dragged her down helplessly. If I made a ranking of Anna, I would probably exclude Alma for the same reason I excluded Laura: differently from Antonela, I have no idea what her voice sounds like, and I cannot forgive the studio for the mixing they made, because they're not newcomers. I don't know, to me, it just feels unfair to the dubbers to include them and place them very low not because they made a bad job (which would mean they actually deserved it), but only because I cannot hear what they actually sound like...I wouldn't be evaluating them, but only the studio and the mess they made, and for that, I think a couple of lines in the description are enough. I feel like this gives the studio the scolding they deserve, without exposing the dubbers themselves, who have no real fault in the result (or if they do, I cannot really tell anyway). I hope this better explained the reasons behind my decision. THIS BEING SAID, thank you so much for the rest of your words! ...despite the slaps _and_ the signature for my upcoming death (in this order). I'm honestly terrified at the idea that Latin Americans will soon come to me with pitch and forks to hunt me down, because one way or another, so far Brazilian and LA Spanish versions have always landed low with me X'D [except for the latest Brazilian Jack, he did fairly well in my ranking] But I swear it's accidental!! ....as well as the fact that Danish has come 1st twice already!!! I SWAER!!!!!
Such a good ranking! Though I don't agree on some of your opinions, it is very high quality. My top would have to be Bulgarian, English, Hawaiian, and Hebrew.
How discouraged to see the European Spanish version so soon ... but I think you're right, you can tell that she tries to alter her voice all the time. I really like these videos, they make me notice many things that I usually don't see.

Thanks for defending Czech’s corner, I never understood why she is such a frequent visitor of the lower placements. Had you posted this video a couple years ago, your video would be bombarded with dislikes from Brazil and Latin America... I didn’t even know there was an Armenian dubbing now...or that the Ossetian dub was official. I also agree with what you said about Maori. I used to love her but now I am, for lack of a better word, indifferent about her. I had a feeling Danish would rank high with you, but I never expected to see her that high x) I personally don’t like her but she definitely has a likeable voice and it has qualities perfect for Moana. IN FAIRNESS...this is already my third ranking hahahaha My GOODNESS, I'm so afraid the whole Latin American audience will come at me someday with pitches and forks because I always place Brazilian and LA Spanish versions so low XD I SWEAR IT'S ACCIDENTAL! Just like the fact it's the second time out of 3 I place Danish first...and the one time it didn't happen, no Danish dubbing exists... Nope, Ossetian dubs are not official, they are only full dubbings made of covers. So glad I'm not alone with Maori, I was really scared of that placement x)
Okay, I'm back here, I want to add about Tamil, I completely agree with your opinion, I'm also not a fan of anything that makes an unnaturally high/cute voice. And when I heard her name to find out who Telugu Mirabel was, I was speechless, how different she was, I think the demands of the recording studio people made her voice like that. If her performance as Mirabel applied here, it might have been a different story. What do you think about her as Mirabel?

Mia did a very peculiar job, and though she has some evident flaws, she's just too sparkling to actually dislike her in any way. At least, I don't think I ever could x) I actually never thought of Danish dubs as outstanding in the bunch....but I'm afraid I'll have to rethink my opinion on them, because just paying some attention, I'm actually realising they are pretty much always very well made!

As my own native version being the English one I always love hearing all of these versions even the lower ranked ones. I also did not know Auli'i did the Hawaiian version which I truly love. It's cool hearing the same voice do two different languages. I wonder how the Maori version would've been had she done it. All in all my personal favorite non native goes to the Ukranian version. Definitely agree with her sounding the most like Moana but I agreed with about all of you comments for each of them. However I also want to give a special shoutout to the Bulgarian version which I loved the decision to pitch it down to fit her voice versus the other way round and try to force a voice higher than would be natural or comfortable.
Well, Auli'i wouldn't possibly be able to voice the Maori version, as she doesn't speak Maori at all: she voiced Moana in Hawaiian because she's Hawaiian herself and can speak the language

@@lemonred2544 I have a feeling it depends a lot on post production. Took me a while to realise, but I think I finally figured why I so often don't like LA Spanish dubs: they use too much post production and you can barely hear their real performance below all that manipulation

La versione danese è quella che mi convince meno, la trovo troppo macchinosa. Ma sono molto felice di vedere il russo sul podio; è dai tempi di Over the Moon che presto un occhio speciale alla lingua, specialmente nel canto. Mi piace tantissimo l'entusiasmo che ci mette Zena, che non si preoccupa troppo di restituire una performance perfetta dal punto di vista tecnico: stesso discorso applicabile all'olandese che adoro, specie per la voce rauca della cantante
J'étais justement en manque de rankings xD Et celui-ci est bien plus proche de mes goûts personnels que celui sur Elsa, même si j'aime bien Maria Parrado x) Je suis tellement contente de voir Cerise si haut, elle est ma chanteuse Disney FR préférée 🥰 Pareil pour Michaela Doubravova (qui est aussi une très bonne actrice ^^) et Tran Minh Nhu qui serait à ma première place (sa version de How Far I'll Go est tellement belle je trouve). Et d'accord aussi avec Clara pour la première place, elle serait aussi ma préférée s'il n'y avait pas la version vietnamienne ^^ Le Danemark a vraiment tout donné sur Elsa et Vaiana 😄 Pour Zena je suis plus mitigée... Je trouve sa voix magnifique et elle chante très bien, mais je l'ai toujours trouvée un peu juvénile pour une ado de 16 ans... Mais elle reste excellente et je comprends qu'elle ait autant de fans :D
J'avais vraiment peur de positionner le danois au sommet à nouveau....je le jure, les versions danoises ne sont pas avantagées par rapport aux autres... c'était un accident que je les ai placé premières 2 fois sur 3...pendant que dans le troisième cas, il n'y avait pas de doublage danois....C'EST UN ACCIDENT !! Je trouve que Cerise a fait un très bon travail...mais il m'énerve que Disney FR essaie toujours encore faire sonner les voix feminines "mignonnes", et c'est partiellement le cas même avec Cerise :/
@@FlamSparks je n’ai rien contre les voix très féminines donc ça me dérange moins, mais je comprends que ce soit irritant au bout d’un moment. Il y a un certain manque de diversité dans les voix qui ont été choisies récemment (c’est aussi pour ça que j’adore Jeanne Jerosme (Chang’e), elle a une voix tellement riche et chaleureuse 🥰)
Voilà ! Over the Moon est un example excellent de ce qu'à mon avis est le problem principal des voix feminines dans le doublage français. La voix de Fei Fei est un autre example de "voix typique française", toute mignonne et _fausse,_ en effet. Et elle sonne ainsi parce que, dans les doublages français, l'idée est qu'une protagoniste ne peut qu'avoir une voix mignonne. Au contrer, Chang'e, qui est une "deutéragoniste", elle ne porte pas le même "fardeau", et donc elle a pu être doublée comme un personnage normal. Si elle avait été la protagoniste veritable du film, elle aurait eu una voix comme celle d'Anaïs, j'en suis certaine.
@@FlamSparks ouais, je suis vraiment pas fan de Kaycie Chase, pour moi c’est le meilleur exemple de chanteuse qui prétend être plus jeune qu’elle ne l’est, alors que dans les dialogues elle est souvent très juste et touchante (et avec sa vraie voix, ou en tous cas une voix moins haute) :/ et c’est vraiment un gros dilemme pour moi à chaque fois que je veux regarder le film parce que d’un côté j’ai du mal avec Kaycie, de l’autre Jeanne est sans doute ma chanteuse d’animation française préférée et je suis fan de Barbara Beretta, l’actrice de Chang’e 😅 mais oui, quand j’ai vu le personnage la première fois j’ai eu très peur et quelle agréable surprise 😌
@@FlamSparks D'accord que Cerise c'est un peu la voix de trop dans ce genre de voix type de princesses, j'aurais préféré une voix d'ado authentique et originale comme Auli'i, et non une voix type Maéva Méline, c'est à dire une femme de 30 ans qui s'exprime avec des airs un peu nunuches et enfantins (ce n'est que mon opinion) pour coller à l'âge du personnage et amplifier le côté princesse disney cucul la praline^^ Je dirais que c'est depuis Mary Poppins 2018 où là avec les Leovanie, Hiba, Anne, Charlotte (similaire à Anaïs mais moins princesse girly type quand même car plus gracieuse) et surtout les voix d'Encanto où là on a enfin un panel original et diversifié. Et c'est bien aussi que vous mentionnez Over the Moon où là en effet Jeanne Jerosme c'est également une nouvelle pépite (apparemment elle a été recommandé à Georges Costa par Rachel Pignot qui fait la mère dans le film donc c'est cool). D'accord pour Kaycie sur Fei Fei, géniale sur les dialogues mais j'aime pas trop sa voix super aiguë non plus dans les chansons. Par contre sur Isabela dans Encanto, là elle est géniale je l'adore. Là où elle se surpasse également c'est dans la série animée Centaurworld sur Netflix où elle fait la voix parlée et chantée du personnage principal. Et OK elle fait très voix de princesse mais au moins contrairement à d'autres voix du type c'est cohérent par rapport à la VO et aussi c'est une très bonne chose que dans ce film ils aient très bien distingué les différents personnages féminins avec des voix différentes (avec une voix terre-à-terre comme Camille Timmerman sur Mirabel et une voix plus grave rocailleuse comme Ana Ka sur Luisa), contrairement à Anna/Elsa qui sont un peu trop similaires et qui juste partent dans les aigus (pour Anna) et les graves (pour Elsa) pour pas qu'on les confonde ;)

The fact that a certain language is a movie's native doesn't make it automatically better than others. That's the dubber's own work, which can be good or bad, regardless of the language
@@FlamSparks But the feelings with the specific instruments goes wayyyy better. It's not only about the singing skill, it's about what the song conveys too.
This video specifically is literally about the singing skills _and_ the way each specific dubber managed to pull their performance also emotionally-wise, as the comments exemplify quite well

@@CherryFlower24 look, I am very closely in touch with Scandinavia and its cultures. I have no trouble telling you that Lisa Stokke, Elsa's Norwegian dubber and her native language, is one of the worst Elsa's you'll find out there. Because being a good dubber has nothing to do with your nationality. You can be the native dubber of a certain character, but if you have the emotional depth of a sheet of paper, you're doing a bad job, and the language you're singing it can do nothing about it. So leave alone places of origin, mine or the dubbers', and truly listen to these ladies. All of them. Without letting your prejudice fog your judgment of a truly heartfelt performance just because a given person happens be born in Finland or in Latin America.
@@FlamSparks and truly, her singing technic is great but When the first time I listen her songs in theater, it couldn't shake (or touching) my heart.. like singing machine. I can't forget that moment it was really disappointed. English version isn't good at technic like her but that version touching me when i listen in cinema. (too sad can't choose other language in theater.. 😂)

Well, Albanian is not included, and the main issue with Bengali cancerns the audio mix, I can't really blame it on the singer, whereas, in María's case, it's her who _chooses_ to sound like she does. And...38th place? That's actually pretty high, it would mean I'd rather hear her version than Flemish, Thai, Maori, Ossetian, Romanian, Kazakh, Armenian, or Mandarin...definitely not the case

Amazing ranking! I got to say, I was a bit surprised to see swedish so low, but I whole heartedly agree with your reasoning. There's no doubt that Wiktoria is a great singer, but I've always found her voice somewhat detached from Moana/Vaiana and sometimes forced... However, Sweden to this day still remains one of my favourite dubs! Another surprise came when you ranked Danish as 1st place. I was overjoyed! I (being danish) ofc is biased, but I agree with you that Clara just is Vaiana! She's an amazing singer and a powerhouse (just like Maria Lucia, who's my fave danish singer) and the first time I saw the movie, I was 100% convinced that it was Vaiana/Moana singing! I’ll have to say that your opinion is rather unique! It killed me inside to see so many versions I like so low, especially European Spanish, Swedish, and Latin American Spanish. Furthermore I can’t EVER see myself liking Slovak more than any of the versions you placed below it. Happy to see English (my favorite) and Hawaiian so high but I like English 10x better than the Hawaiian part so we disagree on that regard. Your 1st place is different, and I like that! I really like Clara as well, she nailed the role in my opinion

I really liked your ranking. I must admit that many of the voices that I love with my soul are very low for me xD (Latin Spanish, Portuguese (BR), Thai ...) and your number 1 I don't think is one of the best voices either, but of course, each one has a different opinion. I love that Lithuanian, Croatian and Portuguese (EU) are so high 😍 and Slovenian too, in general your top 20 looks a lot like mine. Incredible ranking ✨ and amazing edit 💙

With all due respect, while I completely agree with your words mentioned in the description (They truly did Laura dirty), I must admit her exclusion was really not your best choice. Not that I find it discriminative, but as one of the very few legal Albanian dubs with songs dubbed (with Frozen), it _IS_ part of the family, like other TV dubs that you have included. I'd love to see it being treated like the rest of the dubs. Albanian dubs are _not_ on the same level with Persian dubs, simply a plain fact. Just a last place with a respectful comment would be totally fine with me!!

Swedish has become a guilty pleasure of mine, I hear every issue you've labelled, yet I just love her. Don't ask me why, I don't know. Girly takes are _NOT_ for Moana, thank you. I personally have a soft for Nazerke's Moana, by far her best role IMO. Ironically, my problem with Ana is also her technique, but that she focuses _ONLY_ on it. It's like she was doing whatever it takes to just apply vibrato _identically_ on every possible line while she forgot to do anything else. However, I have to admit that her Chang'e knocked my socks off!

To make an example, I made a similar choice for my Jack Skellington ranking, where I left out (together with Persian) also the oldest Brazilian dubbing, which was only released on VHS and any available audio has the quality you would expect of a poorly recorded VHS. I could hardly tell where the noises ended and where his voice began, so, considering there are two more Brazilian dubs available in HQ, I left that one out. It is true that here, the Bengali audio has similar issues, but while that version was at its...3rd attempt (?) of mixing an audio, I thought I could include it nonetheless, because we're not sure how many more of them we'll get to hear (and Shruti received a proper evaluation for her other version)...on the other hand, we've got plenty of Albanian dubs to pick from, and they're all given the same, poor mixing. The one difference with Frozen is that LIG was mixed 3 times, and in the end, I could actually have a proper listen to Antonela's actual voice, even though the rest of songs dragged her down helplessly. If I made a ranking of Anna, I would probably exclude Alma for the same reason I excluded Laura: differently from Antonela, I have no idea what her voice sounds like, and I cannot forgive the studio for the mixing they made, because they're not newcomers. I don't know, to me, it just feels unfair to the dubbers to include them and place them very low not because they made a bad job (which would mean they actually deserved it), but only because I cannot hear what they actually sound like...I wouldn't be evaluating them, but only the studio and the mess they made, and for that, I think a couple of lines in the description are enough. I feel like this gives the studio the scolding they deserve, without exposing the dubbers themselves, who have no real fault in the result (or if they do, I cannot really tell anyway). I hope this better explained the reasons behind my decision.

I'm honestly terrified at the idea that Latin Americans will soon come to me with pitch and forks to hunt me down, because one way or another, so far Brazilian and LA Spanish versions have always landed low with me X'D [except for the latest Brazilian Jack, he did fairly well in my ranking] But I swear it's accidental!! ....as well as the fact that Danish has come 1st twice already!!! Mia did a very peculiar job, and though she has some evident flaws, she's just too sparkling to actually dislike her in any way. At least, I don't think I ever could x)

Your comments are so detailed and well-thought out. Seems to me your care more about this 'emotional connection' than other factors, which is something I can't always detect, so it gives you very interesting takes.
As my own native version being the English one I always love hearing all of these versions even the lower ranked ones. I also did not know Auli'i did the Hawaiian version which I truly love. It's cool hearing the same voice do two different languages. I wonder how the Maori version would've been had she done it.
All in all my personal favorite non native goes to the Ukranian version. Definitely agree with her sounding the most like Moana but I agreed with about all of you comments for each of them. However I also want to give a special shoutout to the Bulgarian version which I loved the decision to pitch it down to fit her voice versus the other way round and try to force a voice higher than would be natural or comfortable.
Well, Auli'i wouldn't possibly be able to voice the Maori version, as she doesn't speak Maori at all: she voiced Moana in Hawaiian because she's Hawaiian herself and can speak the language

J'étais justement en manque de rankings xD Et celui-ci est bien plus proche de mes goûts personnels que celui sur Elsa, même si j'aime bien Maria Parrado x) Je suis tellement contente de voir Cerise si haut, elle est ma chanteuse Disney FR préférée 🥰 Pareil pour Michaela Doubravova (qui est aussi une très bonne actrice ^^) et Tran Minh Nhu qui serait à ma première place (sa version de How Far I'll Go est tellement belle je trouve). Et d'accord aussi avec Clara pour la première place, elle serait aussi ma préférée s'il n'y avait pas la version vietnamienne ^^ Le Danemark a vraiment tout donné sur Elsa et Vaiana 😄 Pour Zena je suis plus mitigée... Je trouve sa voix magnifique et elle chante très bien, mais je l'ai toujours trouvée un peu juvénile pour une ado de 16 ans... Mais elle reste excellente et je comprends qu'elle ait autant de fans :D
J'avais vraiment peur de positionner le danois au sommet à nouveau....je le jure, les versions danoises ne sont pas avantagées par rapport aux autres... c'était un accident que je les ai placé premières 2 fois sur 3...pendant que dans le troisième cas, il n'y avait pas de doublage danois....C'EST UN ACCIDENT !!
Je trouve que Cerise a fait un très bon travail...mais il m'énerve que Disney FR essaie toujours encore faire sonner les voix feminines "mignonnes", et c'est partiellement le cas même avec Cerise :/
@@FlamSparks je n’ai rien contre les voix très féminines donc ça me dérange moins, mais je comprends que ce soit irritant au bout d’un moment. Il y a un certain manque de diversité dans les voix qui ont été choisies récemment (c’est aussi pour ça que j’adore Jeanne Jerosme (Chang’e), elle a une voix tellement riche et chaleureuse 🥰)
Voilà ! Over the Moon est un example excellent de ce qu'à mon avis est le problem principal des voix feminines dans le doublage français. La voix de Fei Fei est un autre example de "voix typique française", toute mignonne et _fausse,_ en effet. Et elle sonne ainsi parce que, dans les doublages français, l'idée est qu'une protagoniste ne peut qu'avoir une voix mignonne. Au contrer, Chang'e, qui est une "deutéragoniste", elle ne porte pas le même "fardeau", et donc elle a pu être doublée comme un personnage normal. Si elle avait été la protagoniste veritable du film, elle aurait eu una voix comme celle d'Anaïs, j'en suis certaine.
@@FlamSparks ouais, je suis vraiment pas fan de Kaycie Chase, pour moi c’est le meilleur exemple de chanteuse qui prétend être plus jeune qu’elle ne l’est, alors que dans les dialogues elle est souvent très juste et touchante (et avec sa vraie voix, ou en tous cas une voix moins haute) :/ et c’est vraiment un gros dilemme pour moi à chaque fois que je veux regarder le film parce que d’un côté j’ai du mal avec Kaycie, de l’autre Jeanne est sans doute ma chanteuse d’animation française préférée et je suis fan de Barbara Beretta, l’actrice de Chang’e 😅 mais oui, quand j’ai vu le personnage la première fois j’ai eu très peur et quelle agréable surprise 😌
@@FlamSparks D'accord que Cerise c'est un peu la voix de trop dans ce genre de voix type de princesses, j'aurais préféré une voix d'ado authentique et originale comme Auli'i, et non une voix type Maéva Méline, c'est à dire une femme de 30 ans qui s'exprime avec des airs un peu nunuches et enfantins (ce n'est que mon opinion) pour coller à l'âge du personnage et amplifier le côté princesse disney cucul la praline^^
Je dirais que c'est depuis Mary Poppins 2018 où là avec les Leovanie, Hiba, Anne, Charlotte (similaire à Anaïs mais moins princesse girly type quand même car plus gracieuse) et surtout les voix d'Encanto où là on a enfin un panel original et diversifié. Et c'est bien aussi que vous mentionnez Over the Moon où là en effet Jeanne Jerosme c'est également une nouvelle pépite (apparemment elle a été recommandé à Georges Costa par Rachel Pignot qui fait la mère dans le film donc c'est cool). D'accord pour Kaycie sur Fei Fei, géniale sur les dialogues mais j'aime pas trop sa voix super aiguë non plus dans les chansons. Par contre sur Isabela dans Encanto, là elle est géniale je l'adore. Là où elle se surpasse également c'est dans la série animée Centaurworld sur Netflix où elle fait la voix parlée et chantée du personnage principal. Et OK elle fait très voix de princesse mais au moins contrairement à d'autres voix du type c'est cohérent par rapport à la VO et aussi c'est une très bonne chose que dans ce film ils aient très bien distingué les différents personnages féminins avec des voix différentes (avec une voix terre-à-terre comme Camille Timmerman sur Mirabel et une voix plus grave rocailleuse comme Ana Ka sur Luisa), contrairement à Anna/Elsa qui sont un peu trop similaires et qui juste partent dans les aigus (pour Anna) et les graves (pour Elsa) pour pas qu'on les confonde ;)

The fact that a certain language is a movie's native doesn't make it automatically better than others. That's the dubber's own work, which can be good or bad, regardless of the language

@@CherryFlower24 look, I am very closely in touch with Scandinavia and its cultures. I have no trouble telling you that Lisa Stokke, Elsa's Norwegian dubber and her native language, is one of the worst Elsa's you'll find out there. Because being a good dubber has nothing to do with your nationality. You can be the native dubber of a certain character, but if you have the emotional depth of a sheet of paper, you're doing a bad job, and the language you're singing it can do nothing about it.
So leave alone places of origin, mine or the dubbers', and truly listen to these ladies. All of them. Without letting your prejudice fog your judgment of a truly heartfelt performance just because a given person happens be born in Finland or in Latin America.

Well, Albanian is not included, and the main issue with Bengali cancerns the audio mix, I can't really blame it on the singer, whereas, in María's case, it's her who _chooses_ to sound like she does.
