this is a great take on fast fashion !! its so important to acknowledge that sustainable shopping is a privilege and i wish more fashion youtubers/influencers would take the time to talk about it. when i think of fast fashion i associate it with items that will not last and i feel a lot of guilt from looking at/wearing those items in my closet. we can't change those past purchases but its important to make it a purchase that will last and to donate your items to a charity shop once you are done with them. thank you for leading by example !
love what you said about sustainable fashion! i have forever 21 shirts that I bought almost 5 years ago and still wear them bc they've actually held up. sustainable fashion and thrifting is such a privilege and i hope in the future it can become more accessible
For your stomach ache, I highly recommend coconut milk yogourt or coconut milk kefir. It does wonders for your gut and kinda tame down the acidity in your stomach. I have IBS and my husband has auto immune disease also and we both benefit from eating it every morning. Stay safe ❤️
Honestly, the main reason why I watch your videos is that I can relate so much to your gut and mental health problems hahaha. I'm following a SIBO/low FODMAPS diet (gluten, dairy and fructose free) and I also suffer from anxiety so yeah, I feel you! Hope you're doing better!! ♥
being intentional about your purchases is indeed great life advice! "sustainable" fashion can be prohibitive depending on income and access. another sustainability tip is taking care, repairing and mending clothes, and everything you own in general.
I remember when I got diagnosed with celiac disease going gluten free was really hard for me. I was a college student at the time and I never had time to cool for myself. It definitely gets easier but I’m really looking forward to your what I eat in a week, because solid gluten free recipes are hard to find.
these are my fav type of videos u make . working in healthcare , it can be depressing especially when i work almost every day . this was such a great video to watch at the end of the day , u always give great vibes and positivity for me
Thank you so much for mentioning that thrifting can also be a privilege! I always hear influencers say that thrifting is the only option for poor ppl to be able to buy new clothes and I find it to be kind of ignorant/offensive to the realities of actual poor ppl (particularly minimum wage earners living in less urban areas) who shouldn’t have to feel guilty for wanting to buy a new garment, and often live in rural areas where the thrift stores are not great places to shop. I think in general that the conversation needs to be less about “how poor ppl can be sustainable” and more toward “it’s not poor ppl’s responsibility to be sustainable while the rich profit off of harmful practices” so I appreciated you talking about it with understanding :-)
watching your videos always grounds me for some reason, i hope you can feel better from your autoimmune disorder, i wish i could do something more to help you other than sending good energy your way, but i hope this is enough, thank you for making my day a little bit better! 💚
I really appreciate you talking about your thyroid difficulties even when it can be so hard to do so! I have been struggling with hormone imbalances after being kept on a anti-bacterial medication for far too long. Was prescribed birth control to balance things out but still really struggle, and now have to get my thyroid levels checked to see if the birth control is just masking deeper thyroid issues. While you are never obligated to share your experiences with strangers, if you ever learn more and grow more comfortable speaking on it, I’m sure many people like myself could benefit from a chatty video about your story and things you’ve learned along the way! I know how frustrating the process can be - I’m plant-based as well and have been for most of my life, and am also very active. So I know how frustrating dealing with an internal health problem can feel when you feel you’re already doing all you can to support your physical/mental health. And the major misconception that healthy people can’t have thyroid problems! Wishing you the best of luck and peace of mind while you navigate this!
I also got diagnosed with an autoimmune thyroid disorder during quarantine (and celiac disease alongside that) and have had to go gluten free. I'm a vegetarian so I feel you about how challenging it can be to find food that fits multiple dietary restrictions!! one thing that definitely has helped me being gluten free was seeing a dietitian who taught me about cross-contamination and other sneaky ingredients where gluten can get into our diets. for the first two months of being gluten free, it turns out I was still eating small amounts of it in cough drops/gum/ at restaurants via cross contact! sending support and looking forward to your gf plant based vids :)
Hi! I have anxiety too as well as fibromyalgia with excessive fatigue some days. Having a chronic illness is hard because people do think you look OK on the outside but don't understand that in the inside things are hard. Take care! xxx
Always a treat to see your videos in my feed! I've been watching you since high school, so I always feel like I'm chilling with a friend when I watch your videos lol. Hope you're doing well and wishing you all the best ❤
I'm vegan and just found out i have a severe gluten intolerance so i LOVED watching your what i eat in a week thats gluten free & vegan. i'd love to see more/what gluten free products are your favorites bc it's been a weird and sort of hard transition! but i'm right here w you :)
this was such a nice video, just felt like you were hanging out with us - hope you're doing ok with the pandemic and craziness over in the US! It's starting to sneak back into New Zealand so times are pretty strange and uncertain for me at the moment but it's ok we will all get through it! thank u for this video it was super relaxing to watch :) xx
There’s an amazing skillshare workshop on developing your brand / social media for the person who asked “how do you not compare yourself on social media”
being able to thrift is a privilege indeed. in my country we don't have thrift stores. we have second hand stores or vintage stores, where they increase the price because it's vintage. and we don't have many of them either. which is sad
Gluten free is difficult, but you will not start seeing effects until 3-6 months. Your immune system is still activated from the prior gliadin exposure. Hope you start feeling better soon! Always, a doctor subscriber 🖤🤓
as someone who has stomach issues: gluten free is pretty much useless. unless you have celiac obviously. but other stomach disorders or illnesses that have inflammation and the like, it's totally not helpful for most people. when i was first ill, my gp had told me to try gf and when i went to a gastroenterologist, she essentially told me it's bullshit for the most part haha. i dont know exactly what you have, but i would say to check out fodmaps and look into that!!
skyler jordan i have ibs too and my gi doctor told me i shouldnt be gf. i guess it just depends. i was just saying that bc lindsey mentioned not feeling better after being gf and i wanted to share mine and my doctors suggestion:)
Speaking of potatoes!! I just tried this recipe the other day and omg I think you would love it! Def add sour cream and salsa to it though! th-cam.com/video/BopdlQEpDGo/w-d-xo.html
i could listen to you talk all day, you should podcast!!!
“Chai Chats with Lindsey” 🥺 I would LOVE that
OMG YES

I’m definitely also stuck in the “idk anything I’m so frustrated lemme chuck up the double peace signs” phase 😂

You could talk about anything and I would love it! Have you considered doing a plant tour/plant video in general?
