as a long time vegan, i just wanted to say i'm really glad you're prioritizing your health/wellbeing!!! with the food sensitivities you mentioned, i can see how being 100% vegan (AND gluten free) would be really stressful/difficult, so i'm glad you seem to have found a balance that works a lot better for you now! being 100% vegan is great when it's DOABLE/genuinely healthy for you, but everyone has different circumstances, and i think being partially vegan (especially in a way that's sustainable/not at your own expense) is still fantastic- and obviously much better than eating red meat/dairy/etc. anyways, i'm glad you seem to be doing so well in so many ways- and it shows; you really are glowing!! :)
Lindsey I’m so happy you still make long form content, ik how easy it is to just make a quick tiktok, but as someone who’s grown up from 14 to now 19 watching your channel, it means so much you still make videos for TH-cam. I feel like I speak with everyone that I’ve loved growing with you!
You should do more sit down grwm videos like this! :) Maybe next do one talking about current trends you like/dislike, or something about your personal style? Just ideas! Love this!!
i’ve grown to like short form content a lot more due to tiktok & reels but i’ve been watching your videos since like 2015 i think and i definitely still love watching your long form content as well as staying updated with your instagram. i would say you’re definitely the only influencer i still following since i was younger into my now early adulthood and you’ve been such an inspiration for my lifestyle. i also have very similar experience of letting go of vegetarianism after years for better health/eating habits/mental sanity, so hearing how someone i admire has also gone in the same direction is comforting. i’m very glad to see you prioritizing yourself! (: i loved this chatty grwm, it was so fun!
I know how strange and difficult it can feel to switch from eating mainly vegan to then incorporating non-vegan food sources for health reasons. I started eating eggs and fish again as well for health reasons and, just speaking from my own experience, there was a sense of guilt and shame at first because I felt like I was "giving up" but that mindset can be so debilitating! I think ~as a society we are moving more away from diet labels and realizing that individual people need individualized diets depending on their needs and what they're comfortable consuming. Would love a what I eat in a week video that includes a recipe with fish! Still don't feel like I fully know what I'm doing when it comes to cooking fish lol
I've been plant-based for five or six years now and have recently incorporated fish into my diet as well. I was using my diet as a way to restrict myself and haven't been eating well. Adding some fish and eggs into my diet in the last month has been so incredibly helpful for me, but I also still feel super guilty about it. But I know it's the best thing for me right now.
yesss i feel youuu!! putting your physical/mental health first is so important😭💕& incorporating some plant based meals & eating mindfully helps the planet so much tbh. proud!! 💕
writers and lovers by lily king is a similar vibe/writing style to a sally rooney novel (i might even like it more than conversations with friends!) highly reccomend!
SOOM SOOM is the absolute best (especially for picnics) Also just wanted to add that you’ve always been an inspiration to me and hearing your journey with eating plant based and reintroducing animal products for your health is so meaningful. I’ve had to start eating eggs for health reasons too and I absolutely felt shame, sort of like I’d failed. Thanks for sharing!
i have noticed you’re glowing more than usual & now we know! happy to hear it and your make up is so fresh ! love la colombe, their vanilla draft latte they have on tap is delicious!! crazy i’ve been thinking about it and then you mention them 🤭 love the content, thanks linds & stay safe ✨
Was recently diagnosed with IBS so would love if you would talk more about that. It's been super stressful and challenging so I really seek the advice of others. Btw been following you a long time and I'm still addicted to your long form content🌟🌟
i love both your youtube and your tiktoks!!!! i think you are The best youtuber gone tiktoker i know! lol your content shifts so gracefully from one app to the other without feeling forced or weird and i enjoy it all very much!! loved the vid xo
I’m glad to see creators continuing to create long form content and as someone else with chronic illness I also really think everyone should do what they want for their own bodies and creating non judgemental places to talk about food and lifestyle choices ❤❤
it’s crazy how similar our digestive issues are. i also am diagnosed with ibs (and have the same sensitivities to beans, legumes, cruciferous veggies, etc) and i was formerly vegan, but over the past year came to terms with incorporating eggs and fish back into my diet. i still love purchasing and making plant based meals, but you’re 100% right that it can really cause a lot of stress around food when you’re limiting your already limited diet. basically i was eating such little protein because tofu was the only reliable source that didn’t cause stomach upset. either way, i know first hand how tough it can be to grapple with giving up a lifestyle that we’re passionate about but i totally support you :-)
I also started integrating fish back into my diet and has made a world of a difference in terms of my relationship with food and cooking, thank you for sharing🙂
all taylor jenkins reids books got me insanely back into reading!! seven husbands of evelyn hugo, daisy jones and the six, malibu rising, they're so easy to tear through
hi lindsey:) i think you should try reading patti smith's just kids. it isn't fiction, it's a memoir, but it has the narrative pacing of fiction that i think you've described as reinspiring you to read. her story--alongisde photographer robert mapplethorpe's--is absolutely beautiful. the book captures new york city in the late 60s and 70s and the art and music scene alongside a lifelong love story. definitely popular for a reason:) cannot believe i've been watching your videos since you were in highschool (and i was too)!! sending love
I’ve been vegetarian for about 8 years and recently starting eating fish…for the first time in my life actually! I also surprised myself with that one but I can already tell I’m much happier and healthier.
i'm a long time subscriber and have been watching on and off since like 2014/2015??? you inspired me back in 2021 to go vegan, and it was going well until about april of that year since things were opening back up and where I live there just wasn't a whole lot of vegan options at the time (that's actually changed, which is so cool), so i chose to remain vegatarian. and i have been really happy with my decision! however, i am approaching my mid-20s and i'm starting to look for ways to help my body in the long run so a few months ago i decided to start eating fish. it's honestly mostly been when having sushi or having tuna and crackers as a snack, but i've noticed that i feel like i'm more balanced in my diet. especially because i have a hard time remembering to take my multivitamin lol. i feel like it's totally important when talking about being vegan/plant based/sustainable for the planet, that we include people who may not be able to fully commit to 100% vegan, because i know a lot of people who have other dietary restrictions or have certain conditions, where a 100% vegan diet is not healthy for them. thank you for sharing! and you really are glowing, i'm so happy for you! i always feel like i'm catching up with a friend when i watch your videos after a while of not watching youtube :)
can you do a new what i eat in week? i used to be fully vegan but have added eggs back want to look into seafood. i would love to see some of your recipes!
Lindsey. You HAVE to read a Taylor Jenkins Reid book. So worth the hype. My favorite is the Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, but I also LOVED Malibu Rising and Daisy Jones & the Six. Also, her books are being made into movie and tv show adaptations, which is always fun to see after you’ve read the book 🥰
Over the last year I’ve needed to switch to a mostly animal-based diet after being vegetarian and then vegan most of my life, due to chronic illness (also no gluten). It was so strange at first as I never expected to not be at least veggie, but our health is the most important thing!
books i think you'd love: writers and lovers by lily king, tomorrow x3 by gabrielle zevin (a must read novel for any working creative imo), anxious people by fredrick backman (a perfect book to get back into reading), all this could be different by sarah thankam matthews, happy hour by marlowe granados
I try my best to be plant based too, but i cannot eat nuts, or coconuts, which really limits where i can get healthy fats from, so i too have started to eat fish and eggs and other types of food in order to stay balanced. it's hard but i understand too :)
Hearing from another person who has the same IBS issues and had to stop being vegan has been so helpful for me to stop guilting myself. I wanted to go fully vegan but I also can’t because I eat eggs since I can’t eat a lot of vegan protein sources. It makes me feel so bad but also I have to prioritize my health. It’s nice to see someone else having the same issue and realizing I’m not alone and it’s okay to do what you need to.
Hey! Very serendipitously, I also got back in to reading after reading Conversations with Friends in January. I then read Animal by Lisa Taddeo and absolutely loved it. I think you’d like it too. Happy reading! Xx
omg would totally recommend u read daisy jones & the six if u haven’t yet, ik it’s super popular but it rly is sooo good! the writing is amazing and it really breaks ur heart, plus amazon prime came out with the first 3 eps of the show adaptation and their sooooo good!
I also loved conversations w/ friends. I was recently obsessed with this book Reputation by Lex Croucher read it in one sitting and highly recommend. You look so happy and like you’re glowing from within ❤️
Where the Crawdads Sing is a MUST READ, its such a good book and I've heard that the book is better than the movie (and I've heard good things about the movie too)
Honestly you're looking healthier for it. No offense at all meant, vegan diets are wonderful but you do seem to have more energy and full of life. Hope you're feeling better too!
thank you for speaking so candidly about diet changes and managing a chronic condition! i was vegan for a long time and started incorporating animal products after my diagnosis. i can completely relate to the sadness and anxiety around food. i'm so happy to see that you're happy and well!
CONVERSATION WITH FRIENDS!!! Me too, I finished it in few days. Sooo complicated yet sooo good :”) Try other books from Sally Rooney! Beautiful World Where Are You & Normal People!!!!! All so gooooood!!!
I highly recommend reading The Song Of Achilles by Madeline Miller, also Seven Days In June from Tia Williams and Everything I Know About Love by Dolly Alderton (loved that especially after reading Sally Rooney)
as a 3 years and a half vegan, I felt like I needed to comment this: there's no such thing as the perfect vegan, and spoiler alert: you don't need to be one. the effort you make every day (or however often you eat vegan) to help the planet, the animals, or whichever is the reason you chose to eat plants in the first place, is what counts in the end. it's ok to make mistakes and to be flexible with yourself. personally I love being vegan and I don't intend to look back any time soon, but I still allow myself to enjoy non vegan things If I find myself craving something. it's ok. there's no vegan police that comes checking if something you're eating isn't vegan. I learned that it's WAY better for ME to just allow myself to simply eat whatever I feel like eating. also, nobody should ever feel entitled to tell you what you should and shouldn't eat. overall, just do whatever makes you feel good❣
I had to move from being vegan for chronic illness purposes as well and I feel and look so much healthier now (despite the fact that I’ll be sick forever from my illnesses 😅). Glad that it’s working out for you too
as a long time vegan, i just wanted to say i'm really glad you're prioritizing your health/wellbeing!!! with the food sensitivities you mentioned, i can see how being 100% vegan (AND gluten free) would be really stressful/difficult, so i'm glad you seem to have found a balance that works a lot better for you now! being 100% vegan is great when it's DOABLE/genuinely healthy for you, but everyone has different circumstances, and i think being partially vegan (especially in a way that's sustainable/not at your own expense) is still fantastic- and obviously much better than eating red meat/dairy/etc. anyways, i'm glad you seem to be doing so well in so many ways- and it shows; you really are glowing!! :)
U can be perfectly healthy without eating any animals. The science is clear. Ur nothing but a selfish animal abuser

“Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow” is a great book!! Couldn’t put it down.
I just downloaded it!!
ur warmth and happiness is contagious, thanks lindsey, loved this chitchat 🥰

Every time you eat non vegan you are paying for an animal to suffer.

just came on to watch something during my lunch hour, perfect timing!
Me too!!
Your makeup looks so incredibly pretty.
I love the long form content more than anything, short form I think gets too addicting and makes me scroll on social media way too much
Was recently diagnosed with IBS so would love if you would talk more about that. It's been super stressful and challenging so I really seek the advice of others. Btw been following you a long time and I'm still addicted to your long form content🌟🌟

So similar! I was also eating barely any protein, mostly tofu which I knew wasn’t sustainable long term. Thank you!
I also started integrating fish back into my diet and has made a world of a difference in terms of my relationship with food and cooking, thank you for sharing🙂
you are my comfort creator! 🫶🏻
