Cutting Carrera Track

- You would think I could get used to being on camera and not get so flustered. LOL. Carrera track is easy to cut, I just made it look hard. Whenever you need a custom one lane just cut on the centerline. Wish I would have had my wife hold the other end while I was cutting. Would have made it a lot easier.

I just found this. This is great!
You said you have used your table saw. What blade did you use? Thank you for sharing this
I used a panel cutting blade (80T I believe) for the straight track and put the blade on reversed.
@@dw5555 thank you! Love the layout by the way
I thought that the fittings were very good and this layout to enter the pit is very uncommon and interesting. Thanks for sharing it. I was wondering Why not cut a piece of MDF instead of cutting the track pieces for use them as shoulders ?
Gerson thanks for the comment. It is very rare that I can't use a stock Carrera border on the track and I never cut track pieces to use as borders, only as a custom track curve or if I need some single lane straight pieces. This is the only spot on the track where I used the outside lane as a border but it wasn't cut. A long time ago I experimented with Mdf and while it did work the grip properties of the track was different. The Mdf was a lot slicker.
I think I misunderstood what you were asking. By track pieces I thought you meant the actual track itself. Sorry. I will always use a stock border if I can, even if I have to cut it. I explained why in the above post.
@@dw5555 your answer was clear. Thanks for the answer 👍🏽
How many feet of track is your layout?
I think it's right at 100'. I doesn't seem like a lot for such a large area but I've had the put as much track as you can into an area, but this time I wanted to spread it out a little bit.
@@dw5555 it looks just right to me and the wife! Nice layout
