These are great tones !
Nice Zen playing!
Love this amp man. Such a great sound. Wish Diezel would re-issue the blue face spec.
I have a blueface and 2014 silver. I can get the silverface to sound exactly like it if they are both using the same power tubes. Just turn some knobs up and down.
Really love the sound, I'm missing mine being 10 days abroad. Do you remember the settings?
I'd like to hear your thoughts on the 2002 VH4 compared to the Big Max. If someone was wanting that early VH4 / Tool sound, is the Big Max a good candidate compared to the newer VH4? Unfortunately, there's been a bit of a drought on the used market when it comes to older VH4 amps. I've been trying to find a good substitute.
@@evitative462 IMO - The Big Max is going to be the closest modern production amp to the Blueface spec. It’s more mid-forward, less gain than a modern VH4, and is very punchy while retaining some of the old school Diezel compression.
Hey, see if you can find an Einstein. I think it is the closest to the Blue Face tone that I have heard. It's an awesome amp and can be had for much less than most Diezels.
@@thecalv10 Yeah, the Einstein is an awesome amp. I used to have a 100w one and regret selling it. Very cool amp. Get one that's modded so you can switch between the modes on channel two.
@@eldoradoguitars6456 true, mine is not modded and I wish I had access to each of the three modes since mode 3 is “the” Diezel sound and I currently can’t have that and the clean channel. The second mode is great too though. It’s a really versatile and great sounding amp!
I have a VH4 2002, it is perfect for Tool tones
All it took was the E chord !
I had a newly bought PRS mccarty 594 s2 double cut I paired it with metal zone, halo, chrorus, equilizer the result is the same distored bite with that gibson he is using. I thought my prs is muddy as what I read in a lot of comments who know prs s2. Bur when I tried with my effect the distortion really bite like that guitar and their is no muddy , its clean and pure distortion growl and very crispy. And my amp is only a 65 watts lany. I had a noise suppressor so it is not noisy like his system.
Glad you got a tone that works for you man!
