One method of purchasing Loakes outside of the EU is to use a VPN/Proxy to purchase from their British store and use an international postbox service to forward them to your overseas address. Unfortunately you will pay UK VAT and using an international courier the costs can mount so best to check postage options and prices in advance. Loake do have an online ‘outlet’ store which sells discontinued models where you can often find a bargain. I just picked up some discontinued burgundy burfords at an excellent price.

Those are a great pair and especially the colour choice! You should definitely do a review on them on your channel!

Love this pair! Goes well with a pair of chinos

C&J are about twice the cost of the Loake 1880... That aside, my pair of Buckinghams is well into their second pair of Dainites. Creased and darkened, but two pairs of Dainites adds up to a few miles of walking.

Their 1880 range (English made) are also made in India. All uppers are clicked, cut and stitched in their Indian factory. They finish the process in England and that apparently means it’s English made. All very misleading

That’s pretty standard. US shoemakers have factories elsewhere to stitch uppers. The only way to have them made locally is to special order them. Globalization is a thing.

@@wishoeguy fortunately that’s just not true. Sanders, trickers, crocket & Jones, churches, cheaney, NPS the list of English shoe makers goes on of factory’s that produce their shoes from start to finish in their English factory. The problem is the fact Loakes lie to customers telling them it’s a English made shoe when it’s clearly not.

Made in ____ doesn’t ever mean all steps of the manufacturing process. Companies are clear when they say that it’s assembled or constructed or they’re vague which means that it’s not… vagueness isn’t misleading it’s just not telling you what you want to hear.

@@wishoeguy I’m a fully qualified cobbler from decades of experience working on welted shoes I can tell you first hand English made shoes are just better, they use better quality materials and the attention to detail craftsmanship wise is superior so there’s a motive to lie. Loake advertise and base their marketing strategy completely on informing people they are selling “English made shoes” in order to try and replicate that of other English shoe makers who make fully English made shoes when in fact they do not. I’m sorry to burst your bubble but it’s just facts.

@@wishoeguy also sorry haha made in means exactly that it’s made in that country, the term your referring to would be assembled in. Please stop defending a company that misleads its customer base
