What a beautiful sweet little soul she is, I hope she can make a recovery where she can live a happy life. Thank you to all you veterinarians that take care of these sweet beautiful animals. 💙💙💙
For anyone searching for an update: Billie the platypus has recovered a great deal, but still has some residual brain damage and thus cannot be released back into the wild. She is now at a specialized platypus facility with all the care she needs. From the videos on the Wildlife Warriors facebook you can see she no longer has those head wobbles and can move around better.
Truly an amazing, selfless career. 🙏❤️ It’s impossible to show enough appreciation for people in careers like this. ❤️ 👏 Thank you a million times to all the good people who have, are, and will work in the medical field.
Oh that's wonderful news!! I love her! You're so lucky to get to be around those wonderful animals! Thank you for taking care of yet another beautiful animal in our world 💟💟💟💟
Fantastic news the little girl looks so sweet and all I wanted to do is give her a kiss and a cuddle and hope that she makes a full recovery, my eyes began to fill up before we got the great news, I hope she goes on to make it back to her pal's and continues to live her life as she should, thank you Australia Zoo for caring you are all worth your weight in gold.
Good luck to this little sweetie! This reminds me of a kitten we rescued that had muscle and brain damage. She walked like a Komodo dragon, often shook her head and fell over, and would stumble a lot. But dang she was a sassy girl. And a tough one too. We found her when she was only about a week old. She had damage to the back of her neck and head and then got a secondary abscess in the muscle tissue in her neck which thankfully was knocked out with having it drained then daily cleaning with betadine and oral antibiotics. I hope this lil lady makes a recovery.
I would have never expected taking a blood sample from her bill! When I think about it it makes sense, but I wasn’t expecting it at all! What a cool thing to learn
The size of a platypus is due to its climate and food, further south they grow much bigger. Tasmanian playtypus can grow about three times larger than this little girl.
They specifically said that she is improving at the end of the vid. And that she doesn't have the parasite that they were concerned she may have. Idk I feel like they told us a fair bit about her journey. Wouldn't doubt that there will be a 2nd part.
Thank you for helping this precious platypus. I pray that she has a complete recovery.
Me too.
this kind of reminds me of Perry the platypus
Don't pray, donate!

The study is fantastic, but it is a pity that there is no final conclusion.
Id be afraid to touch it, but it's cool someone out there's helping them
I’m pretty sure only male platypus are venomous? So I think she’d be safe to touch. Correct me if I’m wrong.
Yes, only the males are venomous.

Based on how the little platypus goes on its right side, it may have suffered trauma to the left side of the cerebellum
