I did a report in school 60 years ago, when I was 7 years old, on the duckbill platypus, they’ve fascinated me always, and I’m addicted to wildlife documentaries. It’s inspiring to see young people becoming such good stewards to the land and animals, something humans have mostly failed on so far.Steve Irwin was a true hero for our planet, his kids have carried on such a meaningful legacy.

@@greenghost6691 They are VERY hard to spot in the wild. Nocturnal, camouflaged, timid. Even YT videos with wild footage about them are rare.

Platypodes are the most ancient of all mammals, laying eggs held in a pouch, with the lowest body temperatures, having venom, and having a crocodile-like stance. They are the most recent living descendant of the synapsid/therapsid ancestors of all mammals in the Permian Period. During the Triassic the Dinosaurs began to take over, but after the KT extinction event, I consider that "The Synapsids' Revenge" and the noble and hardy Platypus played a huge role in that. The ancestors of the Marsupials must have been Monotremes, and the ancestors of the Placentals must have been Marsupials.

So right you have to go out and get them. They can't come to you! Steve is the one, and Robert is his amazing son who carries on the Mantle. Terri, and Bindi are amazing too of course. What a pleasure it would be to be their friend, and encourage to be the best of what is themselves always, while always carrying on Steve's legacy. I still remember I saw Steve Irwin on TV for the first time. I wasn't sure what to make out of him, but as I saw more of him, I knew he was the best ambassador of all wildlife world wide. Robert, Bindi, Terri just carry on this mighty responsibility. Would be cool to know as kids how Bindi and Robert were growing up in Australia Zoo. Wow, what an exciting life. So blessed. Many great years of love for the Irwins, and all widlife they save, and care for.
