Shango has airplanes, you have barking dogs. I still watch and enjoy. Nice diagnosis and repair.

Nice to sit and enjoy another video of yours. Long gone are the days of the epic barn finds where you can find alot of GREAT radios tv's and other goodies like you guys found in the abandoned T V shop 12 or so years ago.

You and Shango both posted videos today (1/6/2024). Guess I have some watching to do! LOL! Great detail as normal - nice job!

I have a 1968 GE with this same form factor. Didn’t know they were making them into the 80s!

I've got the GE 1976 red white and blue model. I think it's a 12 inch but uses a 9 tube chassis! GE must have had some extra tube chassis lying around because there is a solid state version of my TV, just not the bicentennial model. They definitely used this style cabinet for many years.

This TV was manufactured in 1981, at this time, Color TV had been around for roughly 28 years.
Why do you think black and white TVs were still manufactured??

Even though it's 1981 it definitely has an appearance like it would have been from maybe early (?) to mid 1970s
    13:25 Yep. Thought so.

Volume on tv doesn't have to be so loud.
It wakes my wife up when she is sleeping and I have some peace and quiet.

Never liked GE TVs myself most of the ones I got just didn't look that good. Had a porta color or two that looked ok but the crt had huge in line color stripes so it was like watching a low res monitor from up close and it was like a 9 inch set. It was pretty bright and color was decent though.
Looks like that one actually throws a decently sharp picture though so be interesting to see how it turns out, watching now 👍

The Compactron tube garbage was terrible.

I know I am using a Crag digital converter box on my 1982 15" GE color set that I got for $15 out of a flea market once.Still works great but here allI can get for digital channels over the air with rabbit ears are 4 and they are all PBS.

Does it have the tag on the back or these words molded into the back-"This cabinet is made of high impact plastic for the ultimate in sculptured beauty" I mean it has the word performance right on the front of it..

I miss the days when electronics were made in US. This Chinese crap now you might as will throw in the trash when it goes out.

The quality of TV shows now pretty much, is same as the movies these days. It's just not as descent like it used to be. There not really much on that i want to watch anymore, That isn't about grumbling and spewing off about politics, or just nonsense for the most part.

Retro gamers wouldn’t touch something like this. Sadly, very few would want it

It’s funny but at first glance it looks like a much older set, like ‘67 or so. I had no idea they still used this old style as late as the 80’s.
