Shango, friend, i was TV CRT technician por many year here in Brazil, worked on 12 TV repair shops in BR and one there in the United States, and also teach some tips of electronics in my channel on TH-cam, in Portuguese, of course, but one thing i learned on TH-cam: The TH-cam not transform you to TV or any electronics technician from zero. Only help you to improve your knowledge about this area, but only for who is professional or student. However if you want to become a great professional in this area, study good books and courses (i also sell courses) in English, Portuguese, Spanish, whatever in your language. And practice in
the counter of some repair shop or in your own home if you can. Just this way you going to be a great professional and that tips in You tube channels like this will help you alot. Thanks for the videos Shango, keep going you channel is awsome.

Hi Shango066, I sure enjoy your videos on the restoring of old TV sets. I use to work at a TV repair shop in the late 1970s. The place was Grand TV in Duluth MN & they went out of business in the 1990s. I my self had a TV VCR shop in the late 1980s up till the year 2002. I find it cool & incredible your able to fix up very old B&W TVs for folks out there in CA. Up here in MN most every one has moved to the new HD TVs & lots of older normal working TV sets People have quit using & lots old Picture Tube TVs go to the dump or to recycling places. I am retired now & My Hobby over the past years has been restoring old Ampro reel to reel Tape recorders. The Ampro 758 I had when I was only 12 years old & the Ampro 758 & 757 were made in 1955 & 1956. Back in 1973 I was fixing it all the time. I all ways wanted to find another Ampro 758 over the 1980s & 1990s & never could find one. In 2007 I found one on ebay & I fiixed it up & restored it. Then after that I found more Ampro 758s & the Ampro 757 & I was buying them on ebay & fixing them up & I now got 10 of them & they all work very good. I all so fix & repair small Portable 5" reel to reel players to & some Sony Stereo reel to reel recorders. I fixed & restored them by new Tubes & Belts & adjusting them & replacing Audio Heads if needed. I love all kind of older Music & enjoy recording off them old Ampro units when I get some new old 45s & 78s or 33 LP Records. Your Videos are incredible & since Christmas time I enjoyed lots of your old TV restoring on TH-cam. Happy new year out there I sure wish you were closer. We have a lot in common in the Electronics world. take care. Jerry.

This video has given me some hope. I picked up a boat anchor DuMont 304A Oscilligraph scope at a yard sale for pretty cheap. Got it home and discovered it had been about 8 inches deep in water, there was silt all over everything inside. But being afraid to power it up because of crud in the transformer made me set the restoration project aside. But seeing this old girl come to life has sparked some hope in me that it's a viable restore.

I am sick of god channels using click bait to promote for money. I will support yours all day. You have always been just honest. Thank you. Btw. Arrow engines were famous for people starting them on a pump jack and remembering years later to go back and check on them... They still build these engines today. arrowengine.com/en/ the website tells you how to change the oil...because they are running pumps etc.. and can't be turned off you drain the oil while adding new oil into the filter. An oil change w/o shutting it down...

For example I am a user on audiokarma, and I disabled the addblocker for their site. I like your channel and I disabled it here too. I disable the addblocker for every thing on the net that I like, find useful and like to support even a little. But surfing the net without an addblocker? The only thing that would worry me would be maybe the yoke or tuning sections, but I've seen/heard of older tube ham transmitters that got dumped overboard into salt water, retrieved, hosed off and they worked like a champ.

I am absolutely stunned that TV is working out of the (sand) box...

I would never install an add blocker just because I know it helps you and your channel. Your channel is full of knowledge and you deserve any money you can make on those adds. How hard is it to hit the skip button anyway!?

I miss the true, free and open internet. 29:20 She probably won't be affected in anyway, because her content doesn't go against the establishment.

You were talking about how the colors on a 60s RCA and a modern flatscreen were pretty comparable. If I wanted to get an old vacuum tube color tv from the 50s/60s, would you say I should shoot for an old RCA? What would you consider to be a fair price?

Also thought it was hilarious when you started the TV up and went to the channel with the game on it and the coach that we've been playing with wet balls all week...I busted up man...you should watch that again...

This one looks interesting! No ad blocking this end chief, compared to the days of watching commercial television adverts on youtube seem like nothing. If you get an extra cent or two from 5 seconds of my time then its a very small price indeed to pay to watch your content and literally the very least i can do to support the channel.

Now I’m not sure but I think you can turn off ad block on individual youtubers or websites, so that you can support the people you like through ads.

You Can and I do. I use ublock origin For channels I like and support it's off, like Shango's. If there are a lot of ads I will let them plat through and then re-watch with the ad block on
