Please join our fight to save orangutans from the brink of extinction by donating on this special day: www.internationalanimalrescue.org/givehope
We need your help now to reach our Giving Day for Apes goal of $30,000 which will provide vital funding for our work repopulating orangutans in the wild. Please give what you can today, as your donation could help us to win grants and awards which will fund the much-needed programmes at the IAR Indonesia rescue centre.
In fact, this post also marks the first ‘Golden Ticket Hour’, whereby a donation that is received during this hour will be randomly selected by the Giving Day for Apes team and the receiving organisation will be awarded a prize of $250!

The vets and keepers at IAR Indonesia’s rescue centre work extremely hard to care for over 100 rescued orangutans in need.
Helping to save this fragile species from extinction is very expensive, whether it’s through repopulation strategies like our surrogacy program, the rescues or the day-to-day treatment and rehabilitation, every step is vital and costly. But it is all worth it to succeed in the long-term aim of one day releasing the orangutans back into the rainforest, where they belong!
That’s why we need YOUR support, and believe today is the perfect opportunity to raise the money this wonderful species desperately needs!

I will never understand how how people are allowed to hurt animals and not face jail time! We the world need to come together to stop this craze with abusing orangutans, macaques and so on. How can we have change in the world if we do nothing. Look at the views of the videos from IAR compared to the views of makeup videos! There is a massive difference! I would give my life to safe an abused orangutan, would you?

The poor mum & baby at 0.36 were captured,tied up & beaten by villagers,she was looking for food for her baby
I'm crying from this story. Poor mother and child. Instead of help from people, they received terrible tortures. This is a monstrous crime! This is cruelty for which there is no excuse. These residents should be tortured and then executed. Such bastards should not live. These are not people, they are monsters in human form, they have black souls. I hate these bastards, I curse them.

I don't understand why these people weren't punished? Why doesn't the Indonesian government adopt harsh laws to protect orangutans? These people deserve the harshest punishment. Why is the government inactive?
